The Exile
Chapter 1Two Years
Two years I thought to myself with a sigh, as I looked over at the young Dalish elves playing. Two Years since my exile from my homeland Alfheim to the western continent of Damur. I later learned that the natives of this land called this continent Thedas. Perhaps I should start over with who I am.
My name is Rekha Primea. I am an elf that comes from a land far to the east of Thedas beyond the Amaranthine Ocean. When I first got to these lands on the eastern Shores of the land called the Free Marches, I was halfway to deaths door until a clan of elves found me and nurtured me to health. I awoke to the clan's healer and Leader watching over me with curious look but a gentle smile. I was hesitant to trust her at first and said little. But on the second day I awoke we were attacked by a group of Humans who called themselves Templars. I was confused as to why they were attacking but that didn't stop me from fighting back.
I approached these Templars and my hands started to shine with magic as I materialised two glowing yellow swords. The templars saw this and took a step back, clearly they had never seen this type of magic, before one of them charged at me he swung his sword to the right with my agile build I easily dodged it before swinging my sword he raised his shield as if it would protect him I smiled to myself, as my blade cut through his shield with ease. He and the others were stunned at this within that moment of shock I saw my chance and went for the kill. Both my swords cut through his body like it was butter. The others were all stunned at this one them said I was an 'abomination' and then they al tried to charge me at once. I was prepared for this but suddenly, a blue bolt of magical energy had hit one of them back. I t was my turn to be surprised. I saw the clan leader along with two other young elves at my side. They were mages as they had staffs with them. we all worked together to kill the remaining templars. I didn't like killing but I was not going to allow a bunch of humans to kill elves who had done nothing, to my knowledge, wrong.
After that Incident I had opened up a bit more to the leader who I learned later was called Keeper Deshanna of Clan Lavellan. The two young mages who had fought with us were called Evelyn and Mahanon. They were apprentices to the keeper. Once we had gotten the entire clan to safety the keeper asked me where I would go.
"I do not know" I answered simply.
"Why not stay here with us then" she replied. I looked at her with a raised eyebrow and she just smiled back.
"But you know nothing about me and why would you trust me?" I said with a curious look to the woman in front of me.
"That is true, but I will not pretend that you did not protect our clan when we were attacked by those humans. Besides I would bet you don't have a home do you. Otherwise you wouldn't have been washed ashore on deaths doorstep." she said with a hint worry. I thought of her words and she was right. I was like a child to this continent not really having place that I belonged to.
"I am a mage would you and your clan be okay with that?" I said. She just gave me a simple nod.
"I accept".
Two years had passed since that day it was now 9:41 Dragon in their calendar years. I had learned much about this continent. Normally templars wouldn't attack out of the blue like that but with an apparent mage rebellion that was going on the templars attacked anyone that was suspected of being a mage.
I also came to trust the clan a lot more after in the last couple of years. I pretty much told them where I am from what kind of land it is and much more. There are still many things I had not told them such as why I was exiled, and the clan learned not to bring it up as all it did was bring up painful memories of home. To say they were interested in my stories was an understatement.
Looking down at my bag as I packed things for the journey, I was going to make, I wondered why this rebellion had started in the first place. I was told by the other elves it had something to do with a building blowing up in a city called Kirkwall but that was about it. I figured there was a lot more to the story, but no one, in the clan, knew of anything else.
This conclave was to finally put an end to all this madness. The Keeper had asked me to go and observe. Wanting to travel the continent a bit more I gingerly accepted the proposal. She told me to be careful as whatever happened could affect the Thedas for the years to come. She did not know how true her words were.
