Well, I may not be able to go to work right now, but at least i have time for my fanfics again! Freaking Corona-virus...
Anyway, I'm working on the next chapter of Portal: Pokemon Edition, just running in and out of the Writer's Block wall, gotta love when you run out of ideas mid-way through the chapter. So, this was something i decided to write as a spur of the moment thing. Won't be too many chapters, but basically after playing through Mystery Dungeon DX, I imagined my character and my partner starting a family as my partner was named after my real life Girlfriend. So yeah. Hope ya'll enjoy!

The sun shown high from Rayquaza's domain as Team StarFlare slowly stepped from the dungeon path towards their home. Morgan, the human - turned Pokemon leader, turned to her Partner with a look of depressed frustration.
"Can we just give it up and leave it to Alakazam's team? I mean, i know we beat Groudon when they couldn't, but what is it with this dungeon!?" The Umbreon growled in frustration.
Her Partner, Sophie the Typhlosion, chuckled. "We'll conquer it someday, we just have to keep trying." She said, placing a paw of reassurance on her smaller leader's shoulder.
The Umbreon huffed. "For Rayquaza's sake! What magical freaking property makes it drop us to level five!? I'm getting so tired of having to return to Solar Cave to regain my Friend Bow. Not to mention everything else we keep losing!"
They kept walking towards their home as Morgan kept complaining about the place, and eventually Sophie just placed a paw to her muzzle gently. "Ssh, calm down. It's not good for you to be so riled up. Just relax dear, we can just do some regular missions for a while to prepare."
Pulling away, she sat down in defeat. "Alright, fine." She sighed.
"Anyway..." Sophie started, entering the doorway with her leader close behind. "Caterfree and Metafree, how's everything?"
Entering her leader's Eevee - themed house, Caterpie and Metapod stood or flew guard of something lying in Morgan's nest. They had both evolved into Butterfree, but to help tell who's who, they kept the first part of their pre-evolution's name.
Upon hearing the greeting, they turned and fluttered happily. "Oh, hello Team Stareflare!" Caterfree trilled.
Her friend also flapped happily. "Perfectly fine, how about you two? You look a bit roughed up."
Morgan's pout continued as she set the team's bag down on her stump table and face planted onto it. "You don't know the half of it."
They both giggled, as did Sophie. "Wish Cave again?" One asked.
Sophie nodded. "And Medicham thought she had it bad. She only made twenty floors. It's gets real bad after that."
Morgan grumbled something into her table, but it wasn't loud enough to understand.
"Well, hopefully you two will have better luck next time. You'll conquer it like you do everything!" Caterfree fangirled, eyes sparkling again like they usually did.
Sophie smiled warmly at her, and gave a nod of appreciation to Metafree. "So...you might wanna let Moody over there into her nest. Pretty sure she could use a nap right now."
The Umbreon lifted her head and glared at her.
"Oh, but of course." Metafree said, nudging his friend out of the way.
Seeing this, Morgan lifted herself back up and walked into her nest and quickly laid down in it, sighing in relief and wrapping her tail around something that had been laying there gingerly and carefully wrapped. An egg.
It was peach colored with a flame pattern wrapped around the shell. Sophie smiled at it and booped it with her nose lovingly. She then looked at her partner, who looked at the egg with the same loving expression, then threw the same look at her partner and licked her face.
"When do you think it'll hatch?" Caterfree asked, excitedly.
"We don't know, probably soon as it's been moving around a lot." The Umbreon then let out a laugh. "Trust me, it's making sure i know, it's barely letting me sleep."
Sophie rolled her eyes, still smiling. "I've offered to take it to my Camp, you know? To give you a break? But no..."
"I'd rather it stay here Soph, I don't wanna risk the other Pokemon getting too rough and not watching what they're doing."
"I know dear, but I would have Absol temporarily come stay and you know Absol would be excellent at making sure nothing happened to it. Especially..."
She looked down at her partner. "With the fact that you'll be handling two eggs soon."
The Umbreon blushed, while both the Butterfrees squealed in excitement.
"Morgan's expecting an egg too!?" Caterfree trilled, spinning in a circle mid-air.
Morgan looked like she was trying to bury herself and the Cyndaquil egg into the ground beneath her, until she looked up at her Typhlosion partner and saw that reassuring face that always made her brave. She then brought her smile back and, looking at the two bug/flying types, moved her tail away from her body, revealing her slightly distended abdomen.
"Yeah, I am. Found out not too long ago. Heh, now it's my turn to be tortured."
Sophie laughed out loud, remembering what it was like when she carried the egg sitting before them. "It wasn't too bad dear. Don't worry."
"Speak for yourself, you flaming dork!" She laughed back, whacking her with her tail playfully.
"Do you want us to stay quiet on the matter in Pokemon Square?" Metafree asked.
Sophie contemplated, then looked at the Umbreon. "Do you want to make an announcement?"
Morgan nodded. "I think so, yes. Would be nice to get some positive attention from the square. I'll probably say something tomorrow when we go to stock up on items from the shop."
The two Butterfree nodded. "Anything else?" They both asked.
The shook their heads. "Nope, you guys can return to your camps. Dismissed Rescue Team Members!" Sophie spoke proudly.
Once they left, the two Pokemon gave each other a kiss and Sophie left for her own camp, after looking back with a little concern.
The Next Morning...
The sun shone through the windows, nearly blinding the Umbreon upon opening her eyes. Yawning and doing a small cat-like stretch, she looked down at her belly. Her eyes shone with worry she dare not show in front of her partner. She may not have any memory of her human life, but she still remembered that humans do not birth young in such a way.
(I may be Pokemon on the outside, but on the inside...I feel like I'm still very much Human. Will this go the way it should...? Or will I...and the baby...)
She shook her head. (I can't think that way. That will get me nowhere. Last time I thought this way, I thought I was Gengar. This will go just fine, just like that did. I wasn't destined to be the Pokemon foretold in the Ninetales Legend, nor will I be the one destined to lose...my life this way.)
Taking a deep breath, she stood up, lovingly caressing her slightly larger belly with her tail and began making her way towards the door. Arriving outside, she looked around and strangely didn't see Sophie coming to greet her as she usually did. Confused, she glanced up and saw Pelipper making his way towards her mailbox. When he landed and deposited her daily mail, she hailed him down.
"Hey, Pelipper!"
He turned to her. "Yes?"
"Have you seen Sophie?"
He nodded. "Yeah...I think i saw her in town earlier and then I think i saw her making her way towards Mt Freeze."
"What!?" She jumped back in shock. "Why would she...?"
Pelipper flew down to her level and placed a wing on her shoulder. "Don't worry, Morgan. I'm sure she can handle herself." With that, he gave her a warm smile and flew off to his next delivery.
Looking down at the dirt below her, she wondered why.
(Why would she just up and leave without telling me?)
Sighing again, this time in defeat, she made her own way towards the Pokemon Square.
Checking her storage and seeing that everything had been stocked for her. She turned to walk away, but Kangaskhan stopped her. "Dearie? Is something wrong?"
She turned her head back towards her. "Do you know why Sophie left?"
The motherly Pokemon blinked. "No, I don't. But I did overhear that it was something she needed to do for you, if it helps. But forget that...is there something else you wish to tell me about?" She said, ending it with a smirk and ending tone to match.
The Umbreon felt her heart beat faster in anxiety. "W-Why do you ask?"
The larger creature leaned forward in a whisper. "Dear, do you honestly think, with a child of my own, that I cannot tell?"
Looking around nervously, the Umbreon clenched her teeth. "Crap..."
Laughing softly, the Kangaskhan held out a small wrapped package. "Don't worry sweetie. I won't tell. Tell us when you're ready."
Taken of guard by the sudden offering, she hesitated, but then slowly reached for the small item. Unwrapping it, she found that it contained an extremely soft black blanket, stitched with a set of yellow rings to match her own, as well as a crescent moon adorning the middle with the rings surrounding it.
Shocked and immediately grateful for the gift, the Umbreon looked up at her with a tearful, happy expression. "It'll help to keep you and your eggs warm this Winter. It's approaching fast, and you need to take care of yourself. Now go finish what you gotta do and get back to resting. You hear?"
Morgan nodded and folding the blanket into her bag, she made her way towards the Persian Bank.
Finally arriving at the Job Bulletin Board, while munching on an Oran Berry Persian gave her, she glanced up at the postings.
(Might as well do some easy jobs while the day is young.) she thought.
"Hm...Tiny Woods...ThunderWave Cave...do any of these have Vitamins for rewards?"
She then spotted a Tiny Woods mission that awarded just that, but the paper seemed beat up, like it had been there a while. Finding this odd, she pulled down the paper.
"Please Help! I've been cornered by Thugs!" It read. This struck her as she'd never seen a mission depicting outlaws. This place had always seemed to peaceful for that.
The reward posted was for a Calcium, which she needed as her moves were all Special Attacks. Nodding to herself, she placed the posting in her bag and walked back to the Dungeon Path.
Upon arriving in Tiny Woods, she quickly noticed as she made her way through it's few floors that she was seeing no other Pokemon. In a way she was grateful, cause she knew she shouldn't be doing too much fighting in her state.
After taking a small break in the cool grass and nibbling on an Apple she brought, she made it to the final floor without seeing her job show up. Reaching the dead end, she titled her head in confusion. (Well, that's odd. Maybe it was just that, and old job that someone had already completed.)
That was what she thought, until she heard a sound from behind her.
"Heheh! And here I thought posting that trap job was fruitless! I guess it wasn't such a stupid idea after all Poochyena!"
"Hey!"
Snapping her body around, Morgan saw two Pokemon, a Mightyena and a Poochyena.
"What's going on? Who are you?"
The larger wolf lifted her head proudly. "We're team Howlers! And we profit by trapping goody-two-shoes exploration teams of high ranks and stealing their goods. You being our newest victim, if you haven't noticed already."
Immediately allowing her Pokemon instincts to take over, she got into her battle position and growled. "You...I'm not letting you do this to one more Pokemon!"
The two other dark types also got in fighting positions. "Oh really? Bring it on!"
Morgan could swear she could see white flash around them for a moment as the two wolves howled.
Taking the chance for the first move, she started with her Hyper Voice, knocking the duo back.
The Poochyena used Howl to boost his attack while the older female leapt forward to use Crunch, trying not to move too suddenly for fear of harming her egg, she narrowly avoided it and used the chance to get her with a point blank Shadow Ball right in her face.
"Yoooooowwwowwwwghhhhhh!" she growled, flying into the ground as the Poochyena charged. Quickly following up with a Dark Pulse, the fight was over. She allowed herself to hunch over to catch her breath.
(Ok...after this...I think I'll just stay home...this is getting too difficult to handle with this stupid egg inside me.)
"How pathetic."
Morgan's heart nearly stopped at hearing yet another vile voice, this time above her. She quickly looked up only to see nothing but yellow. A second later, her body seared with pain as an electric attack struck her. Normally as an Umbreon with heightened stats due to vitamins, this wouldn't have hurt that much, but her current circumstances nearly made that null and void.
She collapsed with a cry onto her side, sparks dancing on her unmoving frame.
Mightyena and Poochyena looked up and saw their leader, Manectric.
"Sir! I am so sorry, we were about to-"
Manectric's body flared with sparks. "Save it! I cannot even leave you to the simplest of tasks! Do you realize who this is!? She's a sky-forsaken Diamond Tier rescue team leader, and you try to rob someone of this high authority!? Are you simply idiotic!?"
Both dark wolves hung their heads, nothing to say in response.
Taking this as an apology, he then turned to the downed Umbreon. "Now for you, I don't much appreciate you defeating my mate and pup like that. So I think it's only fair i get a little justice for them, and the name of my team."
Morgan looked up weakly. "Please..." She could barely speak out of both pain and fear that she may have already lost her egg from that blow. "Don't..."
His body lit up again. "Sorry, begging won't help ya."
"BUT THIS WILL!"
Flame erupted around the canines, throwing them away from the Umbreon, who now had a look of shock. (That was Sophie's Lava Plume!)
"Get away from her, you rotten sons of!" Said Typhlosion erupted from the ground and stood in front of her partner. "You'll touch her my dead body!"
Manectric snarled. "Why you-"
Mightyena pulled at her mate. "Hon, let's just go. This isn't worth it anymore."
Pushing her away, he yelled; "Fine, have it your way!"
She then turned to her pup; "Come Poochyena."
"Y-Yes mother."
With that, they all fled. Leaving the two alone. Sophie turned back to her partner. "Morga-oh no..." Her own heart nearly stopped upon seeing that her partner had fainted.
Slowly regaining her ability to conjure thoughts, Morgan fought the urge to open her eyes as her whole body felt as heavy as a Snorlax, she just wanted to stay asleep forever, but then she started to hear voices. Familiar voices.
"Will she be alright!? Oh my goodness..."
"She'll be fine, calm down. Pancking will do her no good."
"But what about her egg!? Does she still have it?"
"Yes."
"How can you tell!?"
"If she had lost her egg, there would be an utter mess. It would've broken within her and ended up out here. Trust me, it's not a good sight to see. She indeed does still have it and it's fine."
"Absol...how do you know this?"
"I've told you before haven't I? I have the ability to predict and sense disasters, unfortunately, some of which were of that sort. Believe me, I know what it looks like."
"Ew."
"Yes, exactly."
"Grrugh..." Morgan vocalized, trying to wake up.
She heard the other two gasp as her eyes finally obeyed her.
"You're ok Morgan! Oh thank the skies!"
"Sophie..." she responded, voice hoarse. "And Absol..."
Absol quickly stepped forward. "Morgan, do you feel alright? Nothing hurting?"
"No...I don't think so. Why?"
He stepped back, allowing Sophie to get closer and pull her into a soft cuddle. "Merely checking. Just want to know there's nothing I left untreated."
"Oh ok, thank you Absol."
"Anytime, now if you'll excuse me, I will take my leave."
"No problem, Absol. And thank you again." Sophie called out. Turned to leave, Absol looked back one more time, frowning softly and then walking out the door.
"Now," Sophie started. Morgan flinched. (Oh boy, here we go. Now I'm dead)
"What part of you thought that was a good idea!? Going on a mission on your own in your state! If I hadn't come..." she trailed off, seeing her leader start to cry.
"I just...thought it was some poor lost soul in Tiny Woods...like when Caterpie was...the listing was old, so i thought that someone had been abandoned there for some time."
She then sat up suddenly, baring her teeth. "How was i supposed to know it was some lowlifes laying a trap!? You think I would've walked into that if I had seen it coming!?" she screamed, accidentally turning her sentence into her Hyper Voice attack mid-way through.
The attack sent her partner flying into the walls of the home, she quickly looked at her mate again with fear at her rage-filled face. Her eyes were glowing and her rings flashed. Sophie had never seen her with such hatred on her face and in that moment she did the only thing she could think of. Run.
She dashed out of the building and vanished from sight.
Once she was gone, Morgan's fiery rage began to burn out, leaving her exhausted.
And confused.
"Why did I just? I've never been that loose with my temper, nor have I ever lost control of my moves like that! Why did I attack her!? What is going on here!?"
She then burst into tears and cried into her nest, Sophie's egg watching on.
Meanwhile, back in her camp, Sophie was just as confused. She briefly wondered if it was because of her circumstances, but quickly decided that couldn't be it. When Pokemon bear eggs, they mainly have to rest and wait for when it's time to lay it. They never have issues with their moods or moves like that.
Shaking her head, she reached into the bag she brought with her on her small journey and pulled out an item she had retrieved after visiting Mt Freeze. A small pink lacy bow with white cloudy patches adorning it.
A Friend Bow.
