The districts rebelled, and the games were established to put them in their place, and to remind them of their rebellion and that such a terrible thing must never happen again. Two tributes, a male and female, must be offered up each year from each district to participate in a fight to the death in a large arena. These reapings will be random, but volunteering will be allowed. Then, they will partake in a parade displaying them to the capitol crowd. They will then be interviewed, receive a week of mandatory training, then be interviewed once more. The last tribute alive will be crowned victor, and receive a life of ease at their district back home, as a token of the capitol's generosity. Every year, the victors will be allowed to coach their tributes. Before a district gains victors, a selected individual from their district will oversee their training, both physical and mental, and prepare them for the games. Every ten years, the games will have an extra twist added. These games will be referred to as tennth trials.
