Alone

Featuring the Tenth Doctor

He was alone now. Donna walked off, ready to enjoy the rest of her wedding day and now he was alone. In his TARDIS. His insides ached as the process of regeneration began. He glanced at the mirror, remembering what he looked like. Spiky brown hair, a brown pinstripe suit and a beige overcoat.
He frowned grumpily. What could he do now? How would he be able to see Rose and say goodbye to her properly?

The TARDIS whirred and bleeped.
"Oh, no, I can't do that." he argued, "I won't break the laws of time. I just won't."
He then remembered his encounter with Adelaide Brooke and how his manipulation of the timelines led to her death. Adelaide could have had such a brilliant future with her daughter. The family that broke the universe and changed the entire future of the human race.

Suddenly the TARDIS began to dematerialise, the time rotor rising and falling as the ancient time ship wheezed and groaned into the Time Vortex. He felt as if his regeneration was soon, but he could hold out for a little while. He couldn't travel with anyone though. That would be highly inconvenient.
"Hi." came the voice of a woman stood behind him. The woman was short, had short blonde hair and was dressed in very tattered clothes. She had childlike, innocent eyes with sparkled with wonder and a smile on her face.
"Who are you?" he wondered, feeling that she was someone familiar.
"I'm you. Well, not yet. In your future. Come to guide you towards where you need to be." she replied, with a Yorkshire accent.
"You're from my future?"
"Yeah. There's a lot ahead of you. Including a very dangerous time in Earth's history. People need the Doctor in times like that. You can't go on like this."
"Like what?"
"This. Trying to prolong your life for as long as possible."
He nodded in agreement, knowing what she was talking about. The woman then vanished suddenly and he knew where he was going to go.

He was in pain now. But it was a sweet pain. At least he would be happy when he died. He'd wished Rose well for the future and now he was in his TARDIS, alone once again. He could feel the process beginning to happen. It was only moments. Out of the corner of his eye, he glimpsed River Song winking at him and mouthing two words, although he couldn't work out what they were.

Amelia was on her way home from school now. She had enjoyed today: she had played an excellent game of hide and seek with Rory and Mels at lunchtime. Rory had obviously been the seeker and had taken all lunchtime to find her and Mels.

When she arrived home, she remembered about the mysterious absence of her aunt and uncle. She hoped they would come back soon. One day. She felt sad without anyone to talk to. All alone in the dark.

After settling in, she heard a weird sound from the garden. It sounded like a thud. With nobody to stop her, she knew she had to investigate.
That was when the adventure properly began.
