Obviously, I don't own My Hero Academia. I only own the stuff that I made up!
Makoto Kaito: Origin
A good friend of mine once told me that "All men are not created equal." Frankly, I'd have to agree with him. This was the truth that we both learned at the age of four, but we were exposed to it differently. We may have been born into this supernatural world, but we had a very rough upbringing. He was bullied for just being different from everyone. I was born into a terrible situation that got worse and worse. Now, this isn't my friend's story. No… This is mine.
This story starts before I was born with two heroes named: Mistic and Flamethrower.
My mom, Mizumi Kaito, was a rescue-type hero named: Mistic. Her quirk is called Mist Form. It allows her to turn any part of or her entire body into mist. This made her the perfect hero for getting into places that normal people can't get through like air vents or cracks in a wall. She was also good for catching villains off guard by turning into mist and sneaking up behind them. And while she wasn't very strong, she was very hard to hit. With her quirk turning her body into mist, it makes her almost impossible to hit in a regular fight because fists, bullets, or whatever gets thrown at her would just pass right through her with ease.
Now, she may sound like a really awesome hero, but unfortunately, she was barely known by anyone. The current hero society always prefers to look for the heroes that have the flashy quirks and beat the shit out of the bad guys while looking really cool. Helping the Fire Department by turning into mist and saving people from being trapped in a collapsing building just doesn't get as much attention as a "Detroit Smash" to a giant lizard's face in front of city hall. But she didn't need all of the attention. All she needed was to know that she was saving people with what she was doing and her little sister to keep her going.
My mom's younger sister, Koko Kaito, is also an amazing person in my eyes. She managed to retain a very hyper and caring personality despite growing up quirkless. That's right. Koko grew up quirkless in a society that barely supports them as is. Even with all of that she still managed to get into UA and graduate from their Support Course. She wanted to learn how to make different gadgets and doodads to help her sister be a great hero. Koko's favorite thing during the course was costume designing. She was the one that designed her hero costume. And this costume was very special. It was the first ever costume to become completely intangible with its wearer's quirk. In my mom's case, it would turn into mist with her whenever she used her quirk while wearing it. My aunt Koko came up with this design because she stole some of my mom's hair when they were out getting a haircut and decided to experiment on it back in the workshop at UA. She ended up turning her old hair into a material that would work along with her quirk. Meaning it would turn into mist along with her body when she used her quirk. This was a breakthrough for heroes that had full-body quirks that could make use of their full quirk except for their limbs without ruining their costume. Full-body quirk heroes were able to do more than they ever could before, including my mom. With her new costume and my aunt by her side, Mistic was quite the hero.
My father… is named Akai Hakkagu. He was a hero named Flamethrower, just like his quirk. His quirk of the same name allowed him to shoot fire from any part of his body, like a stream of flames from his hands or a fire ball from his mouth. My father didn't go to UA. He went to Shiketsu High on the other side of Japan. He came from a rich upbringing and was an enforcer-type hero over there. He wasn't as known as he would've wanted, but he still did his job… That's honestly all I know about him as a hero…
Anyway... my parents met through a quirk marriage. They're frowned upon in Japan, but they aren't illegal. They're just a relic of a time that should have stayed buried. A quirk marriage is when one spouse's family arranges a marriage in order to produce an offspring that will have a powerful combination of their parents' quirks. As I said before, my father came from a rich family due to their family being full of successful heroes. My mother and her sister's family… not so much. They came from a family of fisherman, and unfortunately their business started to go under and once they sent their youngest children to UA, their funds dropped to an all time low. They didn't want to crush their dreams and hoped that as heroes they could make enough money to help their family. However, mom wasn't known and her and Koko could only make enough to keep themselves afloat back in the city. So, eventually the business started to crash, and their family members got desperate.
The Hakkagu family is a famous hero family from the Western side of Japan. They were filled with some of the best fire-based quirk heroes that have been around since heroes were made to be legal jobs. Their family had heroes that stopped massive forest fires by simply absorbing all of the flames, helped save citizens from burning buildings with no need for safety equipment nor a care for their own safety, or fought the roughest villains out there with the power to use the villain's own fire attacks against them. My father would never be able to see that side of fame that came with his family's hero work. Akai was born with a more boring version of his family's quirks. He could only throw fireballs and create streams of fire from any part of his body. While that may seem flashy, it wasn't enough for his family, especially with their already rich and spoiled personalities. Akai was overshadowed by his family and the public knew it, so he was never given his chance at the fame he believed he deserved. So, he decided to look into an old tradition and got his family's permission to go through with it using their money. He went to look for a quirk to take unto his offspring.
Using his family's influence, Akai was able to look through the Hero Association's registry to find the quirk he needed for his legacy. He found my mom's name after 3 pages and decided on her. He travelled to where her parents lived and made an offer to marry their daughter for a lot of money. Her parents were the more traditional Japanese folks that aren't around too much this day and age. They needed the money to save their home and business, and arranging a marriage wasn't the most unheard of idea for them considering that they were arranged too, but not for quirk purposes. After the arrangement had been made, they called my mother back to their family home and told her that she would be getting married to Akai. At first, she felt like her world was crashing down, but then she stopped that train of thought. She wanted to help her family and she knew of her family's older traditions. She was never the wiser to what my old man was doing. They were married within a couple months, despite my aunt's protests. And then nine months later, I was born.
Time Skip: 4 years later
3rd Person P.O.V
Makoto is in his room playing with toys that his aunt got for him. Currently he is playing with an All Might figure and a grumpy stuffed devil.
Makoto: "Ha! Ha! Ha! Ha! Fear not citizens! I will take out this demon before lunch time today!"
Makoto shouts doing his not so best All Might impression.
Makoto: "Take this! Carolina SMASH!"
Makoto crosses the All Might toy's arms into an X shape and throws it at the horrible demon.
Makoto: "Agh! No, how can I be defeated! Oh! I'm dying…! Bleagh!"
As the demon plushie falls to the floor, utterly humiliated, Makoto raises All Might in victory.
Makoto: "Once again the day is saved thanks to-!"
*Fwoosh*
Suddenly, Makoto's hand is lit on fire and was starting to melt his All Might toy.
Makoto: "AAAAAHHHH!"
He throws the melting figure away from him. He quickly grabs the water he was drinking, with his hand that wasn't on fire of course. The toy is quickly extinguished, leaving a sad gooey All Might on the carpet.
Mizumi hears her son's cries and immediately runs from her room and opens Makoto's door as fast as she can.
Mizumi: Makoto?! What's going on, are you-?!
Mizumi cuts herself off seeing her son's hand is on fire and she begins to calm down. She knew this day was coming and was ready for it as soon as his 4th birthday had arrived. His quirk had finally manifested.
Makoto: "Mom?! What's going on?! My hand is on fire!"
Makoto shouts out as tears are starting to fall from his face.
Mizumi: "Sweetie. It's okay. Nothing bad is happening to you"
She smiles and kneels down next to her baby boy.
Mizumi: "Your quirk finally developed. Can I see your hand?"
Makoto: *sniff* "Okay…"
Makoto starts to calm down and holds his arm out
Mizumi holds his arm gently and looks at his hand. Most of his hand isn't on fire, but his fingers are. Not only that, but his fingers seem to have turned into fire.
Mizumi: "Makoto, it's okay. This is wonderful actually. You're a lot like Mommy."
Makoto immediately perks up and looks at his mom with newfound excitement, completely disregarding the fact that he just melted All Might into candle wax.
Makoto: "Really!? I'm like you Mom!?"
Makoto was practically bouncing up and down. And why wouldn't he be? His mom was his favorite hero after all. If he could be like her then that would be a dream come true for him.
Mizumi: "Do you remember what Mommy's quirk is?"
Makoto: "Yeah! You turn into mist!"
Mizumi: "Yep! From my hair to my feet I can turn any part of me into mist. Now watch this."
Mizumi smiles as she holds out her hand and her fingers disappear into mist.
Mizumi: "Do you see anything familiar? Hmmm?"
Makoto looks at his mom's hand and then his and suddenly it hits him.
Makoto: *inhales* "I really am like you!"
Mizumi: "That's right! Now, I'm going to need you to concentrate and put out your flames. You should be able to feel it. Kind of like a muscle. Focus on it and try to turn your flames off. We don't want you melting anything else in here, right?"
Makoto: "Right!"
He closes his eyes and focuses on the feeling in his fingers. The flames start to dissipate and reform into his missing five digits. Excited to discover his newfound powers he hugs his mom and she returns the hug with a smile on her face.
Her happiness suddenly falters as she realizes what this now means for Makoto. His father and her "husband's" goal had been realized on the first try. Makoto had the perfect combination of their quirks. Akai would surely train him to use his powers without her… He believed that she only needed to be in his life to raise him and take care of him. However, she wasn't allowed to be involved with his quirk. He forbade her from helping Makoto with his powers. And there wasn't much she could do about it… She had to do what he said for her family because he supplied the money to their business. However, she could still try to delay him finding out.
Mizumi: "Makoto, please don't tel-"
?: "So, it's finally here."
Mizumi's shoulders slump as she turns around and sees Akai's looming figure in the doorway.
Akai: "Makoto has both of our quirks. So, it's time to begin his training."
Mizumi: "But he's only four and it just manifested now. He's not ready for that right now."
Akai: "I told you that I know what's best for his quirk!"
Akai raises his voice startling both his wife and child. He realizes what he did and breathes in to calm himself.
Akai: "I'm sorry, but this is really important to me. Now, Makoto please go get an extra pair of clothes."
Makoto looks at his mom and she reluctantly nods
Mizumi: "It's okay, sweetie…"
Makoto gets up and walks to his dresser to grab a spare shirt and pants.
Makoto: "I'm already wearing clothes, and these aren't dirty, so why do I need more clothes?"
Akai: "Just grab some and come with me to the car. We need to go train now."
Makoto looks at Mizumi and once again she just slowly nods. He puts his extra clothes in a bag and follows his dad to the car.
Time Skip
Makoto and his father are now standing next to each other in a clearing in the woods outside of town. Makoto looks at his father, not understanding what this training is going to involve. Without even looking at him Akai just points to another part of the field.
Akai: "Stand over there."
Makoto nods and walks over. When he reaches a good spot, he turns around and sees his father's fiery hair glowing. The next thing he sees is a fireball growing in his hand and is sent hurtling towards him faster than he can react. He's struck in the chest and thrown off his feet onto the ground. He starts crying and clutching his chest where he was hit.
Akai just watches him and sees that he is only crying rather than burning. He makes his way over to him and starts to examine where he hit him.
Makoto: "WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?!"
His father looks at him with a stern face. His red eyes boring into his son with no care."
Akai: "It was a test to see the extent of your power. I expected you to be immune to fire."
Makoto:" Why would you do that to me?!"
He shouts clearly not caring to the man who clearly just threw a fireball at him like it was a normal thing to do.
Akai: "Quiet down!"
Akai's hair and even his eyes start to glow and Makoto is silenced.
Akai: "How do you feel?"
Makoto: "What do you mean how do I feel, you just hurt me."
Akai: "Do you feel any pain?"
Makoto stiffens for a second, thinking. He didn't… He looks to where the ball hit him in the chest and there wasn't any sort of burn or even a tint of red to his skin tone. He was fine. In fact, he felt better than ever for some reason.
Makoto: "I'm okay…?"
Akai: "So, you've inherited my fire immunity and your mother's absorption for your own element. So, my legacy has now been made.
Makoto: "So fire can't hurt me?"
Akai: "No it can't. In fact, it will make you stronger. Now, if I'm correct assuming your quirk is more like mine than your mother's, your quirk should be oxygen-based."
Makoto: "Oxygen?"
His father looks at him and raises his hand to the sky. He unleashes a stream of flames from his palm.
Akai: "It means you need to be able to breathe in order to use your flames. You must have air in your body for your quirk to work."
Akai shuts off his flames and kneels to Makoto.
Akai: "Take a deep breath and produce as much fire as you think you can."
Makoto inhales and then exhales and closes his eyes. He focuses on his hand, which after a few seconds turns into flames.
Makoto: "Wow, this is a lot more than what I did in my room!"
Akai: "Good. Now, there are two weaknesses that you can have in a fight with your opponent."
Makoto: "What are they?"
Akai: "Using too much fire can deplete your flame reserves and when that happens your body will start burning your oxygen in order to create flames. If this happens too much, then your lungs will contract, and you will start to suffocate."
Makoto: "Um…suffocate?"
Akai ignores his question and continues.
Akai: "The other weakness is the most important one that can interrupt your fight if it happens to you."
Makoto: "What's tha-? "
Suddenly, Makoto is punched in the stomach by his father. His flames are immediately dispelled and he is reeling on the ground clutching his stomach.
Akai: "It's called getting the wind knocked out of you. If you're out of fire and need to rely on your oxygen, then this will immediately deplete whatever oxygen you have in your lungs. This is something you must never let happen to you. You don't have an infinite supply of fire, so you will have to rely on your oxygen supply too. If you are hit like this, then you're almost as good as dead. But we'll make sure that doesn't happen. Now, get up. You should have gotten your breath back by now."
Makoto is still clutching his stomach, but finally manages to breath. His breathing is very uneven as he is desperate for air due to his father's lesson. Still holding his stomach, Makoto gets up and faces his father.
Akai: "We will now begin your training. Your first lessons will be about hand to hand combat."
Makoto: But…what about my quirk?"
Akai: "Your quirk does not matter until you learn to take a beating. You can not always rely on your quirk. You must never reveal your entire arsenal to your opponent if you want to win. Keep them on their toes and use your flames and skills as you need to in order to suppress them."
He slowly walks towards Makoto, who starts to tremble, but puts his fists up to defend himself.
Akai: "The lesson begins now."
Time Skip
Akai opens the front door and let's Makoto go in first. Makoto silently walks in while holding his arms. He is battered and bruised all over due to the rough nature of his "lessons". His father didn't bother to heal him during their spar so that he could get used to fighting with pain. Makoto stopped questioning his dad and accepted that this was probably going to be his life now… A single tear starts to roll down his face as he slowly walks to his room.
Akai: "Stay here."
Makoto stops in place and looks at his father as he walks into the kitchen. The sound of drawers opening, and closing can be heard from there until it stops and the sound of his footsteps make their over to Makoto.
Akai: "Here. Use this to heal yourself."
He hands him a lighter. He wouldn't even bother to heal his on son. Makoto was forced to rely on a lighter that his aunt used to light his birthday cake a couple of weeks ago for his 4th birthday. He wasn't even there…
Makoto says nothing as he just reaches for the lighter, but suddenly his hand is grabbed in the process. He looks up and sees his father's eyes looking down on him.
Akai: "You will not tell anyone about our training sessions. Ever…!"
Makoto shakily nods and his father puts the lighter in his hands and leaves to his room. Leaving him alone to his thoughts.
Makoto's thoughts: I feel like everything's just…wrong… Did I do something bad…? He told me not to cry over this, but…
He looks back to his door, which is next to his father's…
Makoto's thoughts: I should go somewhere he won't he me…
Makoto quietly makes his way back to the door and exits the apartment. The only place he thought he could get some privacy was…
The Roof
?'s P.o.V
A screen door quietly slides open as a little green-haired girl steps through and closes it behind her. She looks to the night sky and smiles seeing that the stars are visible tonight. She grabs her favorite frog-themed blanket off her shoulders and walks over to the patio chair. It's a little tall for her to climb into, but she simply hops into it and immediately wraps herself up in her blanket because it's a little cold out for her. Once she is comfortably bundled, she looks to the sky in awe.
?'s thoughts: Sorry for sneaking out of bed Mama and Papa, but it was worth it.
She smiles as she continues to watch the sky for the next few minutes.
Suddenly, she hears a metal door slam shut from below her patio.
?'s thoughts: Maybe someone else is enjoying the stars too? I hope they are; it's a beautiful night out.
The little girl continues to watch the night sky, until she hears someone starts to cry.
*Sniff*
?'s thoughts: Hey, are they okay?
She crawls out of her chair, blanket in hand, and makes her way to the patio railing. She peeks her head out in between the bars and looks down. She spots a boy with black hair and a red shirt, holding his knees to his chest, sobbing.
?'s thoughts: Is he okay…? Does he need help? …Where are his mama and papa?
She looks at the roof below and notices that the boy is all alone… and there's no one around to help him.
?'s thoughts: Maybe I should help him? Maybe he needs a friend?
She looks down at her hands. They are bigger than the average girl's hands. She then pokes at her lips, which are wide, like a frog's. She starts to feel discouraged because she doesn't have any friends due to how she looks. The other kids at day care prefer to talk with kids who are like them…Normal… She shakes her head and snaps out of her moody state. Using her quirk's stickiness, she begins to climb the railing.
?'s thoughts: No! This isn't about me! This is about him and he needs help!
With her blanket over her shoulders, she reaches the top of the railing and squats down.
?'s thoughts: Just remember what Mama taught you about properly hopping. Use your legs and thighs together to push yourself off the ground and…
She pushes off the railing and leaps.
?'s thoughts: HOP!
She smiles as she flies off the railing, realizing that she followed her mom's instructions perfectly. She starts to descend towards the boy. Who is getting closer rather quickly… And doesn't know that she's falling towards him… Maybe this wasn't a good idea…
?: LOOK OUT!
The boy looks up in surprise at someone calling to him, but when he lifts his head, he is met with the color green and something smacking him in the face.
3rd Person P.o.V.
Both kids are now seen laying on the ground clutching their heads in pain.
Makoto: Ow…
?: Kerro…
Makoto is the first to get up and look at the person that had sky-dived into him without warning. What he saw was a girl his age with long, straight green hair. She was wearing green footsy pajamas and holding onto a light green, frog covered blanket with hands that seemed a little bigger than any other kids. Her mouth was also wider than any other kids too. But he didn't pay attention to any of that and made his way over to her and held his hand out.
Makoto: Hey are you okay?
?: Kerro… I'm okay.
Makoto's thoughts: Kerro?
She looks up at his hand and takes it.
?: Thank you. And sorry about that… I should have let you know that I was hopping down to you…
Makoto: Where did you come from?
The girl turns around and points at the patio that is over 10 feet above them and across the gap that separates the two buildings.
Makoto: You came from up there?!
She nods
Makoto: Why?! I mean… Are you okay?
?: I'm fine, but are you okay…?
Makoto: What?
?: I was on the patio looking at the stars when I heard you… I wanted to see if you were okay…
Makoto was stunned to hear this. Someone had heard him crying. At first, this was embarrassing for him as he wiped his eyes. But then he stopped. This girl had heard him… and wanted to see if he was okay so badly that she jumped off a balcony to see him.
?: Why were you crying?
He's silent and looks at his hands for a moment.
Makoto: It's because I got my quirk today…
She sets her index finger on her chin and tilts her head to the side.
?: Isn't that a good thing?
Makoto: It is, but…
Looking at his hands still, he clenches them into fists and thinks about his dad telling him to never speak about their training. But here was a girl, his age, that went so far to see what was wrong with him. This was someone that he didn't know, yet still cared. Someone he may or may never see again. Someone that his dad doesn't know and probably won't care to know. And if he kept this stress bottled up inside, he might explode someday causing even more damage to himself.
Makoto: My dad…
?: Hm?
Makoto: After my quirk showed up today… my dad took me out training…
He looks at her and she stares silently at him. He takes the silence as a sign to continue and he begins to tell her everything that had happened today. Against his father's will.
Makoto finishes telling her about everything, and he looks at her. She looks back at him, trembling and holding onto her blanket.
Makoto: Hey are yo-
She quickly hugs him as tight as she can and places her head into his chest. He returns the hug.
Makoto: Hey…
*Sniff*
He feels something warm start to spread across his shirt. He looks down at her and the little girl is crying into his red shirt. He begins to calm her down by gently rubbing the back of her head until she stops.
Makoto: Why are you crying?
She looks at him, with her tear-filled, froggy eyes.
?: I'm sorry that happened to you… Kerro…
Makoto's thoughts: This is the nicest person I've ever met… She may be even nicer than Mom or Aunt Koko.
He immediately hugs her again, surprising her, but she returns it. After another minute they release each other from their embrace. They look at each other, smile and sit on the roof.
?: What are you going to do now?
That question hits him like a rock. What is he going to do now? This was the scariest day of his life so far. His father will continue to train him to fight and use his quirk and it will probably get scarier. But he wants to be a hero. He looks up to his mom and wants to be a hero like her so badly. Badly enough that he may just take advantage of his father's lessons and use them to be a hero. But not the hero his father wants him to be. No. He'll become a great hero that his mom and aunt will love.
Makoto: I think I'm going to keep training…
?: Are you sure…?
Makoto: Yeah… I mean… I really want to be a hero.
?: You do?
Makoto: Mhm. My mom was an amazing hero that helped lots of people no matter what. She didn't care about being popular. She just wanted to help.
?: Who was your mom?
Makoto: The Misty Hero: Mistic!
A big smile appears on his new friend's face and she begins to hop up and down in excitement.
?: Your Mama is Mistic?!
Makoto nods his head up and down as she hops in place.
?: She's one of my favorite heroes! I want to be a hero just like her!
Makoto starts to laugh at the girl's antics, and she notices this and stops hopping and goes back to a more neutral face.
?: Sorry about that.
Makoto: Heh. No, it's okay. I want to be a hero like her too.
?: Maybe we can both be heroes together?
Makoto: Sure!
The two smile at each other and begin to talk about each other's quirks. The girl's quirk was called "Frog-Form", which gives her the physical characteristics and abilities of a frog. They talked about their families as well. The girl had a "froggy family" in her words. Her dad looks like a big brown frog, while her mom looks more frog like, she looks like her. Makoto talked about his mom, to the girl's excitement, and he also talked about his nutty Aunt Koko and how she made Mistic's costume. Time went by and it started to get much later than it already was.
?: I think I should go home now. I already snuck out of bed in order to go outside. Now, I'm kind of pushing it.
Makoto: Yeah, I should have been sleeping a long time ago. But it was worth it.
?: Yep!
Makoto: Hey, you never told me your name.
?: Neither did you, kerro.
Makoto: Well, I'm Makoto Kaito.
?: I'm Tsuyu Asui.
Makoto: Nice to meet you! Do you want to be friends?
Tsuyu looks at him with a shocked expression, but happily hugs him after hearing that, which he returns.
Tsuyu: I would love to. I've never had a friend before.
Makoto: Why not?
Tsuyu: The other kids think I'm weird because I look like a frog…
Makoto: You look normal to me. Besides frogs are great! They're probably just dumb thinking frogs are gross!
Tsuyu: *giggle* Thank you, kerro.
Makoto: I don't really have any friends either. My dad didn't want me to go to school yet until I had my quirk. But now I've got a friend!
Tsuyu nods and looks at him with a nervous expression.
Tsuyu: Umm… can you call me Tsu?
Makoto: How come?
Tsuyu: Well… I've always wanted my friends to call me that, but I haven't had one yet until you…
Makoto: Sure, I can do that easily, Tsu!
She looks at him with the biggest smile her froggy features can give.
Tsu: Then can I call you Mako?
Makoto: Hmm… That's a little weird, but I guess my best friend can call me that!
Tsu: Thanks…Mako.
Makoto: Hey, Tsu?
Tsu: Yes?
Makoto: How are you going to get home?
Tsu: Oh, I can just hop over to my building and use my stickiness to climb up to my place. I'm really good at climbing. I climb up onto the ceiling all the time at home. Although, Mama says I should stop.
Makoto: How are you going to carry your blanket home if you climb up the building?
Tsu: You can use it for tonight. I think you need it a lot more than me. Just promise to give it back to me tomorrow. It's my favorite froggy blanket that I have.
Makoto looks at the blanket that she handed him and smiles.
Makoto: I promise that I'll protect it with my life!
Tsu hugs him one last time for the night and begins to walk over to the edge and crouch down. She looks back to Makoto.
Tsu: Bye-Bye, Mako.
Makoto: Goodnight, Tsu.
She looks back to the extreme task before her, remembers her mom's instructions, and hops to her building. She sticks immediately and climbs up. Makoto is stunned by her quirk's ability. He knew that she would make an amazing hero when she grows up. And he's going to be one too!
Tsu finishes climbing up the side of the complex and slips between the railing bars. She looks down and waves good-bye to her new best friend who, of course, waves back.
It was time for Makoto to sneak back too. He exits the roof and quietly makes his way to his apartment. Once inside, he tiptoes into the kitchen to return the lighter, then his room and collapses onto his bed. Not even bothering to put on pajamas. He crawls under the covers with the borrowed blanket and begins to think back on what just happened.
He was absolutely miserable just over an hour ago. And he thought he would be for the rest of the night. But he had made a new best friend and she was able to cheer him up with no problem. Tsu was exactly what he needed during that moment of hardship. And something tells him that she'll be there for the next ones as well. Becoming a hero isn't going to be easy for him… His father's training is going to be a nightmare for him. But, with Tsu there for him he may be able to face that nightmare and come out of it a better hero.
A/N: Hey thanks guys for checking out my story! This is my first ever fanfiction and I hope you and I can enjoy it together! Now, I'm no stranger to writing, but of course my grammar won't always be perfect because I was never an A+ English student. Anyway, I want to let you guys know that this story will be mostly following the manga canon in terms of story. However, I will be working with the characters in the way that I believe they would behave after Makoto is introduced to the mix. There will only be one character that will be the most OOC, but that is how their character is made different due to being introduced to Makoto. And it's obvious who that is, but I will show how her character has changed and yet remained the same in a way.
Unfortunately, I'm very prone to procrastination and I am currently a Junior in college, so I hope you'll forgive me if chapters come out at random times. I do have lots of notes and ideas for what I want to do with this story, so hopefully that will make things easier, but procrastination is a bitch still. Also, this story will be on WattPad as well for those that would rather read it elsewhere. Now, let's have a great time with this story guys! PLUS ULTRA!
