"Hey, hey. That was incredible."

"Don't get used to it."

Olivia broke a personal rule, and she couldn't stop thinking about it since it happened. She had fun with Brian, the sex was incredible, but she could never do it again. After all, they were co-workers.

She straightens her suit jacket and walks into the squad room nervously, praying Elliot doesn't notice something is off and she doesn't run into Brian.

"Morning, Liv." Elliot says, and she smiles slightly as she hangs her coat on the back of her chair.

"Hey, El. Anything good so far?"

Elliot just shakes his head and Olivia nods before heading over to the coffee machine to make a cup.

Just then, Brian comes over to her, and she avoids turning toward him-avoids him in general.

"Last night was fun." Brian whispers, and Olivia nods ever-so-slightly. "I want to do it again."

Olivia sighs and turns her head to look at him. "Cassidy, look. It was fun, but we were drunk. It won't happen again." She smiles slightly before turning on her heel and walking over to her desk to sit down.

"Everything okay?"

Olivia picks her head up to look at Elliot and nods. "Everything's great."

The two of them fall silent as their work day starts, and Olivia does everything she can to take her mind off of the events of last night.

Olivia was waiting for the elevator doors to open when Brian comes up next to her.

"Any plans for the night, Liv?"

Olivia shakes her head. "No, it's been kind of a long week. Just planning on going home."

Brian nods and sighs. "Need company?"

She turns her head and glares at him. "Brian, we talked about this. As long as we work here, together, I can't do this. I can't mix business with pleasure."

"Wait, Liv, I-"

The elevator doors close on him before he can get another word in, leaving Brian in Olivia's dust.

Three weeks later

Olivia sits up on the bathroom floor, flushing everything that was in the toilet in front of her. She was more angry than anything else: it couldn't be a worse time to get food poisoning.

She stands up and heads to the sink to wipe her mouth before going into her bedroom to get ready for the day. She just has to suck it up and get through this shift.

When she walks into the squad room, she collapses into her chair, and Elliot looks at her with a raised eyebrow.

"Everything okay?"

Olivia nods slowly and blows out a breath. "Yeah, just a bad case of food poisoning. I'll be back to one-hundred percent in a couple of days."

Elliot just nods as she slinks down into her chair, and Cragen walks into the middle of the room.

"Benson, Stabler, West 122nd and Broadway. Go now."

The partners stood up and bolted out of the squad room toward the crime scene.

XXX

Olivia has never vomited at a crime scene before. Sure, more than half of them were hard to stomach, but this one was rough. This food poisoning was messing with her badly.

Unless it wasn't food poisoning. Her and Brian hooked up almost a month ago, and for the life of her she couldn't remember if they used protection or not.

She shakes her head, wipes her mouth off, and swallows hard as she heads back over to the crime scene, making a mental note to buy a pregnancy test when she has a free moment.

She also says a prayer that it doesn't come back positive, but she had a bad feeling. A really bad feeling.
