People flooded out of the theater with gobsmacked mouths and lost eyes while others left the theater with a sense of satisfaction and excitement.
Luke was pretty much lost.
Igneel watched as his twin tried to gather his bearings as they walked down the hallway, ignoring the chatter of those who thoroughly discussed the movie. He grinned as Luke tried to work his mouth. "You were that shocked, huh?" he teased.
"Like… Just, how?" Luke had to know. "They literally just dissolved."
Igneel nodded, his grin broadening. "Mmm-hmm…"
Luke turned to his brother desperately. "Please, tell me they aren't dead," he pleaded. "They can't be dead. There's a new movie coming out next year. They can't be dead."
Igneel gave a teasing shrug. "I don't know. I just know that I don't feel so good—"
"Stop!" Luke groaned, covering his ears. "I never want to hear that again! That was just so tragic!" He paused, eyes widening. "If I'm like this, Nashi is going to be a mess."
Igneel laughed. "Oh, God, that's right, she cries during every movie!" He guffawed just thinking about how teary-eyed their older sister would look. "I can't believe Starshock is going to be in the next movie, though." His lips twisted into a frown. "I'm still upset about her costume. In the comics, I liked her black one better, not this green whatever."
"She's gone," Luke stressed. "Why would the doctor just give it up?"
Igneel clapped Luke's shoulder. "Because, bro, it's all endgame."
"But, what does that mean?" Luke stressed. He narrowed his eyes at Igneel's smug grin. "What aren't you telling me?" he demanded to know. "You know what that means, don't you?"
Igneel smiled, shrugged, and walked ahead of his twin. "Who knows? I mean they did change the movie from the comic books. I guess the Brothers aren't going to be in the next movie…"
Luke perked. "Wait, what?" When Igneel cackled and sped off, Luke chased after him with crazed eyes. "Igneel! Igneel, get back here and tell me what's going to happen, goddammit!"

Luna burst out of the theater in excitement. "So, it's pretty much confirmed Silver is going to be a thing," she gushed. "That was just too cool!"
Penelope very much agreed. "The costumes would make good cosplay," she murmured. She looked at Luna slowly. "I believe you would make a fine Wicca."
Ena wholeheartedly agreed. "I can see the design in my mind already. We need to begin planning right away," she decided.
Luna's eyebrow twitched. "I'm glad I get a say in this…"
Paige stuffed her hands in her jacket pockets. "I just don't get it," she huffed. "So, what? White Tiger and Lady Spider literally came out with movies last month and a year ago and, all of a sudden, they're dead?"
"Not dead, my beloved Paige," Silver corrected, "but dissolved into a different realm." Hearts struck his eyes. "We should go on a date so I can tell you all about it!" He hugged her. "Say, 'yes', my beloved!"
Paige blushed and bolted away. "Leave me alone! You said you'd stop being creepy for the movie!"
Silver eagerly hounded after her. "Now that the movie is over, I can openly display my love for you, my beloved!"
Ena scoffed. "He is the reason why restraining orders exists," she said. "Just him. No one else."
Luna lightly bumped Ena. "Come on, E, it's cute in its own way," she had to give. "He's fighting for his love."
"Fighting for love is romantic. Stalking your obsession?" Ena shook her head. "I have zero tolerance for that and I suggest you do the same."
Luna was about to protest when she found herself wrapped in someone else's arms. "What the—?"
"You didn't want to wait for me?"
Luna looked up to see Gale, much to her surprise. "Huh? I didn't know you were here," she mentioned.
Gale smirked. "'Course I came to see Defenders on the Thursday release. What do you take me for?"
Luna furrowed her eyebrows. "Did you go alone?"
Gale shook his head, throwing a careless gesture behind him. "Nah. Squad's all back there. I'm pretty sure Dash and Amber missed a good chunk of the movie. Amber disappeared and I could smell lust." He made a face. "Someone got head while Divia died."
Luna tipped her head. "What does that mean?"
Ena cut in effectively. "Nothing. Absolutely nothing," she assured, shooting Gale a glare that meant she would use her sword on him if he said a word.
Gale shrugged. "I'm with Red. It's just me using weird slang and all." He eyed Ena for her approval. She gave him a subtle nod and started a conversation with Penelope over cosplay ideas.
Luna pouted up at Gale. "How come you didn't come and sit with us?"
"I was gonna," Gale started in defense of his actions, "but Tesla and Lady J wanted to sit on the ground floor, last row and Jax is pussy-whipped so we had to." He scowled as he smelt Luna's scent. "Cane had no issue sitting with you."
Luna did not even blink. "Well, yeah, we always see these movies together," she said in a duh tone. "We always take off our shoes and share a blanket. Besides Silver, he's one of my best guy friends."
Gale ignored the envy and hurt stabbing him and rattling his scars. "I would've cuddled with you," he muttered.
Luna smiled apologetically. "I'm sorry." She perked. "Hey, there's going to be episode nine of the whole Chronicles of the Galaxy franchise. We can go at the midnight release. I have another ticket."
Gale frowned. "Aren't you going to go with Cane?" He did not mean to sound like a spiteful child, but he sure did sound like it.
Luna sighed as though she had not noticed. "No. He's not a huge fan of CG. Luke, Elvin, and I go with some of their friends, but it would be nice to go with you since you're you and…" She blushed and dropped her gaze. "I-I mean I'd rather go with you, y'know?"
Gale grinned. "If you're a good girl, we can even share a blanket and cuddle," he decided. "Popcorn will even be on me, okay?"
Luna nodded up at him. "Sure! Sounds great!"
Gale's grin broadened and his eyes rebounded to Ena. "Yo, Red. Blondie's coming home with me," he called. "That okay?"
Ena snapped him with a suspicious look. "Where are you taking her?" she pressed. "We have to meet with my older brother since it's past curfew. We wouldn't want L to get in trouble with the authorities, right?"
Gale held up a hand in surrender. "Fair point. Don't sweat it, Red. I'm just taking her to a diner close by on my broom and she'll be home before one a-m. I'll even text her parents to make sure it's cool and text you when we leave, capisce?"
Ena pursed her lips. Her brown-eyed gaze went to Luna as though searching for something. When she found it, she gave her a nod of consent. "Very well," she allowed. To Luna, she added, "I'll handle Cane. You go and have fun. Make sure to text your parents and me, okay, L? I want to make sure you're safe."
Luna beamed and hugged the Scarlet Fairy. "Thanks, E," she murmured. "We'll talk later."
"If he touches you without your consent, he will feel the wrath of my blade," Ena promised in a low mutter. She pulled back with a mother's frown. "Be careful, okay?"
Luna playfully rolled her eyes as she let Gale sweep her away. "I will, Mama!" she called back teasingly. She turned to Gale and whispered conspiratorially, "Okay, I really have to say it now. Can we please talk about how funny it was watching all those people cry about Lady Spider's dissolving?"
Gale stopped.
Luna stopped with him to see a blank face on his person.
"Marry me," Gale commanded. "Just please marry me for saying that."

Gary was trying hard not to laugh as Nashi cuddled into his arms, heavily sniffling. "Oh, Angel, you know she doesn't die, right?" he reminded, gentle and keeping the mirth from his tone. "She's alive. She just dissolved."
"Bu-But it w-was s-s-so sad!" Nashi wailed. She looked up at Gary through all her tears. "I mean did you see how heartbroken Mister Hughes' face? It's like his daughter died right in front of him and—!" She hiccupped and buried her face into Gary's chest to cry even more. "Everything hurts!" she bemoaned. "Why did they drag out her death?"
Cade came bounding over with a smirk. "Need another shoulder to cry on, love?" he asked, timbre dripping with mock sadness. He opened his arm. "You can cry on me anytime, Nashi." He yelped when he felt something pinch his ear. His scowl went onto a huffy Dazzler. "Watch it," he growled at her.
Dazzler rolled her eyes. "That movie just made me so mad," she admitted. "I was shipping Beast and Black Knight for the longest time. They finally see each other after years and the only thing they say is, 'Hey'? Are you kidding me?"
T'oree frowned. "I do not understand this…this Thanatas, so to speak. She was heartless enough to kill her own daughter?"
Mustang threw out the empty popcorn bowl and empty drink cup. "I don't think she's dead," he suggested. "Could be her soul is bein' held somewhere."
"That would be totally awesome if it was," Cade gushed. "Think about it, though. The only place everyone could have gone would have to be the Shade Realm, right? My bet is totally on them being there." He hooted as he took out his vape. "Can't wait for Queen Bee to kick ass in the next movie. The trailer looks too good."
T'oree tried to understand. "A 'trailer' is those short moving pictures, correct? And who is this 'Queen Bee'?"
Cade slung an arm around T'oree. "How about we hit up a bar and I tell you?"
Dazzler rudely shoved off Cade as they crossed into the outside world and grabbed T'oree for herself with a smirk. "Don't worry, Tor, I'll keep the bad, bad man away from you," she promised. "Cowboy, maybe we could do the explaining, hmm? I always love it when you explain these characters to me anyways."
Mustang gave his megawatt smile. "Sure thing, Miss Lafayette." He took off his jacket to put it around her shoulders. "Here ya are. Saw you were shiverin' when we hit outside."
Dazzler was sparkling—literally. "Oh, Cowboy, you're so thoughtful," she sighed dreamily. "Where should we go?"
"Let's go to Hook's," Cade decided, walking over to his motorcycle with a vape cloud puffing out of his mouth. "Best wings ever and I'm in the mood for 'em."
Mustang had to agree. "Sure. You take T'oree. Miss Lafayette, you're with me. That okay?"
Dazzler all but abandoned T'oree to clutch Mustang's arm with a dreamy smile. "More than okay," she promised in a purr.
"She's gone!" Nashi bewailed as Gary let her to his motorcycle. "She's gone…!"
Gary sighed and looked at the watch on his wrist to see it was a little past midnight. "Come on, Angel, how about we go and get some food, okay?" he proposed. "We can ditch and go get something at Mama Santos. You know, that Stellian place with the really authentic pasta?"
Nashi sniffled and looked up at Gary as the tears stopped. "Can we get gelato too?"
Gary wiped Nashi's cheeks with his thumb. "Whatever you want," he promised. He chuckled at Nashi's flushed cheeks. "I can't believe you're crying this much even though she's still alive."
"There was just so much emotion," Nashi pointed out. "She was dissolving right in front of Hughes and had to go say, 'I don't feel so good' and plead for him to help her not go." She was getting herself worked up as hot tears came rolling down her cheeks. "She was like my baby, Gary, and she's gone!"
Gary kissed Nashi's forehead. "I know, Angel," he murmured. "Let's get you something to eat. You'll feel better with food." He shouted to his friends. "I'm taking Angel to Little Stella, so I'll see you tomorrow!"
Cade shot Gary the middle finger while Dazzler yelled back, "I hear mind-blowing sex is a great way to forget the pain!"
Gary shot her the middle finger and shouted, "Oh, yeah? Tell me that when you come to me complaining about another Finder date gone wrong!" He chuckled at Dazzler's scowl as he pulled out his keys and unlocked his bike. He got on and put the key in the ignition as Nashi climbed on, hugging him tightly. As he revved his engine, he muttered, "Maybe mind-blowing sex would take your mind off it."
Nashi snapped out of her grief to make way for shock and embarrassment. "Gary—!"
Gary smirked. "Don't worry, Angel. You'll be crying different tears tonight after dinner." He kicked them off and sped them out of the lot while Nashi's spluttered.
