It's quiet in Japan, not an eerie quiet, but a lovely quiet. There's no crime right now, the streets are hustling and bustling with all sorts of people from big to small, strong to weak, and from plain to exotic. Ever since Deku became the symbol of peace, crime rate has been at its lowest. No criminal would dare ever come out when Deku is around. Even if he were to retire, Deku's very existence is the reason why criminals are in danger. That doesn't stop the other heroes, however. Although they're more or less hiring information-gathering heroes than combat heroes, combat heroes are still welcome, they just think that you might be wasting your quirk should you try to become a hero. Plus, all the combat heroes except Deku don't get paid very well. Except for the ones who have information-gathering quirks, which are very valuable in a society with Deku as a hero. A lot of heroes from Deku's generation already retired at age 30. They have mundane jobs now. Even Bakugo, one of the most zealous heroes out there, thought that he was wasting time being a hero. Every hero secretly resents Deku for doing their jobs for them. Not enough that they would be villains though. Still, everyone wondered what would happen if the new symbol of peace were to be brought down or retire. It is here that we finally get to our story. In a Japanese apartment in Tokyo, there lives a new student from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, America. His name is Jace. Jace's quirk is a little strange. Granted, all quirks are a bit strange, but this one in particular is an unheard-of quirk, and there's no similar quirks out there either. His quirk is called Force. He can call out how many Newtons of Force he wants to project. Not only this, but he can change his physics by messing with how much work he puts in to get this much distance. He can do the same to his enemies as well. There are also many other things he can do, but for now, let's get to the story. Today's the day of the entrance ceremony into UA High School. He was informed that a fellow American would be joining him, but he couldn't be sure. After all, two Americans joining a Hero Course? He wasn't buying it. When he went inside the auditorium he was supposed to go in, he sat down. Next to him was a Japanese boy with black hair and a sharp jawline. Jace turned to him and said in perfect Japanese, "Hello, my name is Jace Cooper." The boy turned to Jace, eyed him, and said in English, "You Americans shake hands, right?" "If you're comfortable with it," Jace said as he stuck out his hand. The boy grabbed it and said in Japanese, "My name is Daichi Tsuchimikado, it's very nice to meet you." "You too," said Jace. "ATTENTION, ALL OF YOU!" boomed a voice into a microphone. Jace looked, the guy who screamed wasn't much to look at. The guy who screamed had spiky red hair. He also had a vest on and a… muzzle? He will grant him this, the guy is really buff. "ALRIGHT! It's your very own, the Sturdy Superhero: RED RIOT!" said the guy in the mic. Jace wasn't so impressed, but he noticed Daichi was starstruck. Jace felt kind of bad. He knows that he isn't from Japan, so he shouldn't expect to know all the celebrities, but all the same, Red Riot was a superhero and Jace felt kind of arrogant not being impressed. "Anyway, so here's the test!" said Red Riot, "There are multiple villains in the area where you are fighting. There are four types of villains: Level One, Two, Three, and Zero. Each type of villain has the number of points their level corresponds to. However, I listed them from easiest to hardest. Level One is supposed to be a street villain that a pro-hero should easily be able to take out, Level Zero is a threat that can't be dealt with by normal heroes and should be retreated from with the assumption that you call for help." Red Riot goes on for some time explaining the whole exam. Jace was almost buying that Red Riot was pretty smart, until he realized that Red Riot was actually reading from a script, but whoever wrote it certainly knew how to explain something. After the mini-lecture was over, Jace and the other students were given cards. Jace's card had 1-A on it, he looked over and saw that Daichi's card had 2-B on it. Jace looked a couple of seats over and saw 4-A on someone's card. "Could it be that we're being split up by letters and not numbers?" Jace thought to himself. "Well," said Daichi, "It was nice to meet you, but unfortunately, this is where we split up for now. You seem cool, hope to see you again." "Same here," Jace said. The two were split up, and they each went their separate ways. Jace walked up to his gate. It was pretty huge. Looked like it could take a bomb or two before having a dent. The gate read "A". That was the letter on Jace's card, so he knew he came to the right place. "Wait, are you American?!" said a girl in Japanese. Jace looked around, everyone was interested in him. It didn't bother him. After all, he is the first American to go to UA High. Unless it's true that another American was here. The gates opened and everyone rushed inside. Inside the gates was an empty city. It didn't take long for Jace to run until he found a level Three villain. Just like in the lecture, it was a robot/tank. "Perfect," Jace thought. Jace was able to experiment on some Abrams tanks back in America to get an idea of his power. He had never been able to let loose unless he was in a junkyard, punching through crushed cars. "300 Mega Newtons!" Jace yelled as he threw his hands forward as if casting a spell like a wizard on TV. All of a sudden, the metal on the level 3 villain went inwards, breaking the robot. Jace moved on, he wanted to try his other move sets. "Change acceleration!" He yelled. Suddenly, his feet had a lot more force. He was way faster than before. His top speed, before his limit is met is 100mph or 161kmh. He went at a cool 55mph so that he could still be very much aware of his surroundings. He met with two level twos. One on his left, one on his right. "Change mass!" he yelled. Suddenly, he punched through them with his arms. "I gotta cool it with my power before it catches up to me," Jace thought to himself. His limit with how much acceleration he can do with is up to when Newton's Third Law would out do him. His limit with how much mass he can use is how much work he can put in, and how much weight he has to lift. Unfortunately, his modifications are an active skill, meaning that he has to concentrate on how much Force he's using. He can only use his modifiers when he's thinking about them. For example, he might be able to change his mass and acceleration, but the moment battle is over, his body returns to normal. His limit with his ranged force is how much energy he cat put into it via body fat. At the moment, he believes that the amount of fat required to use this ability isn't much, as he only lost ten pounds when he used 850 Mega Newtons around ten times. Though, he only uses short bursts, he hasn't figured out if he can hold or keep pushing with it and lose more body fat per minute. He was able to get to around 50 points with them, bit then came the level zero robot. This robot was huge, everyone except Jace was running with terror. Jace actually thought it was a little interesting. It would seem like a pointless fight, so Jace turned around, but then… "AAAAAAAHHH!" He turned around; a girl was screaming. He saw a blonde, American girl trapped under rubble. She was kind of pretty, but she was dirty with the rubble. He saw no one coming to help her. "For shame," he said shrugging. He went up to her, "Are you alright?" He said this in English. "You're the other American?" said the blonde girl. "Yeah, I guess I am. Do you need help?" Jace replied. "That would be great," said the girl. "Very well," said Jace. With his modifiers still on, he was ready to punch, but the robot was upon them. "Excuse me," Jace said. Jace then went to a squat and said, "Change Force!" He then leaped into the air, coming towards the robot. He leapt towards the chin and gave a good uppercut. The robot reared back, but then had its attention on Jace. "Good, the girl can either escape or be rest assured the robot won't attack her," Jace thought to himself. He use his force to stick his fingers in the building. While he hung there, he was thinking of a plan. "Ok, so assuming she can't escape, how can I defeat this thing without hurting her?" Jace thought. His original plan was to just bust it open, but then he heard the sounds of spikes piercing the metal, "Now!" Jace didn't hesitate, he jumped down from the building and stomped through the head of the robot. "NICE!" exclaimed the girl "Oh, my name is Selena O'Reilly." As soon as Jace crawled out, she extended a hand towards him. Jace took it and said, "Jace Cooper." "Nice to meet you, we make a great team," said Selena. "Maybe," said Jace, looking for more robots. "TIME'S UP!" screamed Red Riot through the intercoms. Jace's body went back to normal. He was a little exhausted. After he went out of the gate, Selena stopped him. "Hey, where do you live?" she asked. Jace lifted a brow. "Oh, I'm sorry, that came out creepy didn't it? I meant what city and prefecture?" clarified Selena. "Ah, gotcha," said Jace "I'm in Tokyo. Closer to the Saitama prefecture, so I have a little ways to go to get to UA, but it's not bad." "Oh, awesome! We should totally hang out sometime. You know, since we're the only Americans at UA High!" said Selena. "As much as I'd like to hang out, I need to take a tour of Japan. I haven't had the time to get myself oriented," said Jace with an apology in his voice. "Oh no, that's fine. I actually do know my way around, so maybe we can still hang out?" asked Selena. "Sounds good! Here, let's exchange numbers really quickly," said Jace. They gave each other their phone numbers. "Awesome, I'll see you around," Selena said as she left. Jace waved and then went to make sure he was clear to leave. After that, he went home. It was an exciting day for him. He saved a life and got to do some teamwork like real heroes do. As soon as Jace went to his apartment, he went to sleep. The next morning, he went to his mailbox and saw a letter. He opened the letter in his bedroom. It wasn't a letter, but a projector, because the moment he opened it, Deku appeared on his wall. "Congratulations Mr. Cooper, you have passed the written exam with flying colors!" yelled Deku "On top of that, your scores on the mock battle were astounding. In total of robot kills, you have 50 points, but because you rescued a fellow student and worked together like a hero with her, you both got 50 rescue points! So now you stand with 100 points on the mock battle! Outstanding performance, I hope you learn much through the Hero Course!" With that, the projector turned off. See, Deku was one of the few Japanese superheroes that Jace knew about. It was in this moment that Jace realized, he had won big.
