Location: Shield World: Entity
It was the peaceful time of the year in the safe haven of the planet, Shield World: Entity, but there are threats been going on in the Milky Way such as active War Criminals. When the child is the boy who is walk in the streets with his mother in casual clothes. The boy knew his mother won't be needing the armor for the rest of the time since there's no emergency been going on. Out of curiosity, the boy is wondering about the package she's delivering to the person he never met. Their home is much a few miles away from small-town after taking the air vehicle to the station. When they have arrived at the warehouse of the vehicle depot, and seeing the man in casual clothing with red-dyed hair who is working on the four-wheeler mongoose. The child looks around the garage as he sees the few many machine and tools... and finally the old century Aston Martin that caught his eyes.
"Hey red, been a long time?" The woman, Shaine, smiled at the redhead man who turns to her. To his surprise, he finally sees her at long-last... until he notices the child who caught his attention to the vehicle.
He shakes off and stares back at Shaine, "Shaine, it's has been a long time since I lasted saw you," he smiled. "How are you been?" He asked.
"Here to give the materials you need for some important things," Shaine hands the box of scraps and other unwanted items for the vehicle.
Red smiles with a nod... he got distracted by something as he turned to the child who is inspecting the red sports car. "Were you babysitting someone else's child?" Red questioned.
"Actually, that's my child," Shaine smiles softly as she watches her son. Shockingly, Red's expression is changed in wide eyes and his jaw dropped a bit. "His name is Dion. Many things happen while you were away to your home planet."
"... so who's a father?" Red asked.
"Um... the name is gonna be confusing but my lover doesn't remember his true name... so... his name is Legion," Shaine explained nervously.
"Legion? As in Legion-716?"
Shaine surprised a bit, "Yeah, how did you know?"
"Well..." Red narrows his eyes at the ceiling.
Flashback...
Legion walks around patiently for his tank to be fixed until he stopped as he saw the strange device of the buffer, he is about to grab it, and then he accidentally tapped it and dropped on the floor until it broke in half.
"Legion!" Caused the cyborg jumped and turned to the other side when Red came over after he saw that. "I needed that!"
"Sorry, mate! I don't know how I got things slipped my hand," Legion waves his hand a bit nervously. "I'm sure that my love will help you bring some scraps and stuff for your buffer."
"Oh, I'm very sure that your lover can bring over the supplies to me. And you know the worst part?"
"Yeah?" Legion asked as the mechanic points at the outside that malfunctioning the Forerunner monitor is levitating the tank. "Oh for fuck's sake! Give back my tank!"
"Pfft," Shaine muffled. "No wonder he reported to me about the runaway monitor was stealing his tank." Suddenly, she got a contact from her friend Wolf who saw her sister is leaving for the bounty mission in the text message. "Now what did my sister is doing..." she muttered softly. Shaine looks up at Red after she checks her son who is preoccupied with the vehicle. "Knock Out, I... I got a call from my friend who told me about my sister is going out since she was... so distant."
The redhead man surprised about the sudden situation and he turned to the child who is still distracted, "you're asking me a favor to watch over your child when you are gonna be away?" He asked.
"Yes... I have to go and join Raine's bounty job. I'm gotten worried about her, Knock Out, ever since she lost her AI friend who is truly her closest friend," she whispered.
Red... or Knock Out sighs as he begins to agree to keep an eye open on her child, "All right, you better be sure to contact us," he said, Shaine nods her head and she went over to talk with her son about his auntie is going on the mission and she may promise to him that she'll be contacting him or Red(Knock Out) when she got time. And the child agreed and he'll be the best behavior for her before Shaine went to the transport station to the base.
Three days later, Dion has been staying in Red's Workshop and sleeping on the couch after he got back from his friend's house. It got really boring in the evening and he really wants to do something around here, but Red tells him to do what the kids do in the building. But Dion is really, really, really different than other normal kids. All he ever wanted to do is create the technology project or even repairing the machines, devices, and vehicles. He even had the chance to repair the device for his mother, but one person like Austin Martian(or Knock Out) won't let him do something with repairing as the mechanic grease-monkey.
'I'm really booooooooorrrrrreeed!' Dion thoughts as he flips over to lay down on the couch in upside down. He notices that Austin Martian hadn't touched his office when there's little dust in the office... he wonders why he didn't come to his office more often. Suddenly, he hears the grouchy noise from outside and he walks over to check through the window... he sees Austin Martian is having trouble getting the data in his monitor computer, seeing the pictures and data notes of the Forerunner in the screen. The child assumes that Austin Martian might be the scientific archeologist. He never knew that.
"Damn that storage device is corrupted!" Knock Out grumbled quietly as he slaps his monitor screen. Unaware of the child who comes over to see him. "... 'The data slug might be working after I fill up the information files' they say. 'It'll be no issues with Forerunner computer system' they say... Pain in my Aft, I should have got this data slug to Ratchet for the problem..."
"Um... Mr. Martian?" Dion speaks up to Knock Out who suddenly turned around to Dion quick and saw him snuck up on his back.
"D-Dion!? You're back from school?!"
"Actually it's weekend, Mr. Martian. I went to go visit my friend Danny to play video games," he replied to him. "Is... your data storage corrupted?"
"Mostly, one of the inventors has created the data storage device when I had backup files contained." The window popped up in the screen of warning and Knock Out turn to the monitor, "Oh come on!" He shouted.
The child went to the monitor and checks the computer when he took out his tablet and starts pressing the screen, he quickly put the cable link into his computer, and he resumes to do something. He looks up at Knock Out after he finished something he did. "There we go, it should be worked, sir," He said to him who look again at the screen and seeing the warning window went off from the screen, it shocked him very much and he turned to Dion who is smile.
"How did you ever get it worked?!" Knock Out inquired.
"I'm the son of my mom, right?" He smiled as he points his finger at himself. Of course, it is the state of obvious that Dion is the son of Shaine and Legion when Knock Out has forgotten about how capable he has his mother's traits. He looks at the screen and wonders what sort of the language in the files and other report documents, "and... what type of language is that, Mr. Martian?" Dion asked.
"Oh, that! It's... a secret language for friends from another colony. Even your mother and auntie can understand the secret language since they were part of a friend of mine," Knock Out lied as he trying to keep him out from the secret.
As Dion is getting a little bit of suspicious to this person who might be hiding from him... but he shrugged his shoulders, "Okay, but can you teach me how to understand them?! I promise I can do the repairs and fix your computer! Please! I don't wanna get bored around here!" He begged him to let him help around the tools and seeing his face in surprise. Watching him thinking about that Dion would be something special to do to help around.
In the sense, Knock Out has seen Shaine who help him with the device in the past many years ago. No one in her age can do the work in engineering and technology as her mother's, but her son has the same ability and intelligence as hers. Maybe it would be a best idea for him to let Dion help around the garage for the time being before his mother gets back.
In the week later, the disguised sentient in holomatter avatar helps the child to learn the modern language of Cybertronian after the completing repair the vehicle, Dion has been a good kid who is learning this 'secret' language from him. Knock Out is thinking back about his best friend who is helping him with the patient to repair and chatting about something gossip in his days as the Decepticon. He had lost his best friend by the Airachnid during the war... but he had his friend Starscream, Nightblade, and Autobot after the war ended. He had a feeling developed when he and Arcee become close since they were fighting the argument about things in the past before Nightblade came back home from the few years, but both Arcee and Knock Out will try to get along for Nightblade. The red medic and the two-wheeler are closed to complete the ritual of Conjunx Ritus... but it won't be last when Knock Out lost Arcee who was killed by the hands of Airachnid.
"Mr. Martian?" Knock Out snapped back to reality and turn to Dion who is confused and worry about him. "You okay?" Dion asked.
"Yeah, kiddo, just thinking back what I had assistant and friend from the day before he passed," Knock Out responded as the kid frowns sadly.
"Oh... I'm sorry... Mom knows what it feels about losing her friend... and mostly my dad she was devastated about his death until then he did come back to her and me. But not her friend... His name was Terrius Verrikus, a Turian who was like a friend and father figure to me," Dion explains sadly when Knock Out. "When mom said 'honor the fallen, protect what matters to us/them, and keep moving forward for them' I don't know where she hears that but all the answer was that my grandmother passed that quote to her when grandma's parents passed it to her for generations."
Knock Out smiles at the child and knowing that he'll understand what it means. He speaks, "She might understand how much life can be worth living, kid, despite her being a soldier she wants to protect her friends... and family includes you."
Dion begins to understand a little bit better when talking to him, always feels better if his new friend wants to talk about it. So he continues to learn to understand the language from Knock Out.
During the recent month, Dion got drop off to go visit his father in his workplace since Shaine called and tell Knock Out the routine of visiting hours. She and others are still on the planet and might take a while to get the mission done. The child has been helping Knock Out with the issues of the Forerunner vehicle that was sent by Merc. Alliance officer. As for the disguised avatar, he is gotten used to Shaine's child who is reminded of his deceased friend who helped him. Even like the youngest brother, he felt close to him as the older brother. Dion like the same feeling again when he met the older brother... and the father figure he had experience with the last friend, he's equally to compare Terrius and now him. But he knows that biological isn't a fact about what's blood-related, but who's been there to support as a family. No matter what they are, it's who they are there.
Next month later on the first day, Shaine came back home from the mission they had succeeded and complicated journey on the other planet. Nyx Blade(or Nightblade) will be come over to see Shaine and Knock Out to check on the Dion.
"Thank you for letting him stay in your building, Red. I'm sorry for the long wait for me to be back home from the mission," Shaine replied. "It was a complicated, weirdness, and much tragedy happens to me, my sister, and my friend lately."
"It was nothing, Shaine, your son is a good friend to me as well as he helped me around the garage. He also repairs my buffer when he upgraded it," Knock Out smiles as he looks down at Dion who is smiling. "He is my good friend I ever had ever wanted."
"And Mr. Martian is like my big brother and a good friend like a father figured, can I come to stay in his building when you go the mission with auntie?" Dion asked.
Shaine thinks over for the moment, "Well, alright, it depends on how long it would take for me and Raine in the mission when you stay in Austin's warehouse," Shaine said, seeing her son is so happy. "But Martian might have a... other duty calls in elsewhere."
Dion slumps down a bit, "Awwww..." he howled.
The chuckle noise from the outside of warehouse through the door and sees the woman in brown with purple highlights on ends in her hair, her eye colored is silver gray, her skin is tanned, and she wears the casual clothes with hoodie. She walks over to them, "Sorry for the interruption, I came here to check on my friend here," she smiled.
"Not a problem, Nyx Blades, we are just finishing up our time here before we go visit Legion," Shaine replied.
"Hi, Miss Blades!" Dion waved at the tanned woman.
"Hello there, Dion, are you doing well in school?" Nyx inquired.
Dion made a smug face with a smile, "Oh... it turned out well," he answered.
"Dion..." Shaine frowned at him with her arms crossed.
"Kidding! I'm kidding!" Dion smirked awkwardly.
So Shaine and her child has been standing around in half of hours to chat with Knock Out and Nyx Blades. They watched them leaving the area after they hopped in the warthog vehicle... and suddenly the image figures of Nyx Blades and Knock Out is the hologram. The red Aston Martin sport car turned on by its own and drives out of the warehouse to outside when the another vehicle comes out from the side of a warehouse. They suddenly transformed into giant sentient beings from the disguised.
"You seem to get along with Dion, K.O," she complimented.
Knock Out nods his helm a bit, "It was fun when it lasted... he was good assistant and... the good friend I ever had," he said as he lower his helm with sadness expression. Knowing he will not see his friend again from this area when his time is short.
"You'll see him again, Knock Out." Knock Out turned his helm to Nightblade who is smiling. "That's not what I'm here if you think of me going to assign you to transfer to other planet as the team leader. What I'm here for is that I'm going to place you as the guardian to protect Dion. I seen you both have a great time with each other and I am happy to see you found the good compatible with the true friend. Breakdown would be proud of you, Knock Out, and he would be smile that you found the peace in your mind and spark," Nightblade explains.
Now Knock Out has been feeling grateful that Nightblade isn't going to transfer him to another planet to patrol, and he will be place to protect Dion as the guardian and see him more any time.
"I'll let Shaine and Colonel Fowler know about that... mostly I'll have to deal with him if he gonna complain about the secret and risk of the safety," Nightblade replied.
Knock Out chuckled, "Heh, I'm sure he'll be fine when I'm around," he smirked confidently.
"Till we meet again, old friend," Nightblade nodded as she smiled softly and she contact the Autobot base from Cybertron. "This is Captain Nightblade, I'm ready to travel back to the base."
The two bot says goodbye and went back to their own business to intend on the other things to do. But they have to be cautious about new threats will be coming back in the next few years.
Meanwhile, in the prison station, the security guards were been extinguished by the single mech in black and blue scheme with his cannon shift it to disarmed. He walks toward the high-level security cell where the dangerous prisoner is kept inside. He smashed his fist at the computer panel when the door open for him... and the prisoner he would not trusted.
"So... it's been longest time since I see you, Blue Vile," the sound of the female voice speaks to the mech.
"Save your curtesy and manners, femme," Blue Vile remarked. "I am here to bust you out of this prison cell for the second-in-commander's orders. If we are rebuilding the new organization to cause deception. Are you going to join... Airachnid?" He inquired.
While inside the cell he staring, the familiar enemy is held in clamps into the wall. The spider-like femme, Airachnid, is smile evilly like a venomous. It didn't take long for her to think of the time to decided.
"When can we get out?" She responded venomously.
Note: This is a side story before the beginning of 'The Returning Threat'. The character Blue Vile is belong to my friend who I mention, who is 'Blue Vile'? He and I speak about his character so he explain to me that Blue Vile is a Decepticon soldier who serve Megatron during the war but he went missing at all time. No one knows what happen until he reappeared in hundred years. Mystery, yes, but you will know when I get through the chapters.
