Hermione observed her crush from across the room.
The ferret. Oh why the ferret of all people?
She sighed sadly before unconsciously looking at him again. He had short hair in tufts of white-blonde. He had long thin pink lips and the most cuddly height. She was 5'8 and he was 5'10. His eyes were a silvery blue, like silk, they were soft and luminous in the dark. She knew from such experience because she was one of the four house heads of the school...and so was he.
Hermione knew that he didn't like her back, or even hopefully suspect that she liked him, but there was something about the way his pupils dilated when he saw looked her in the eyes. Hermione had only noticed it now because in fact, she realized she had been starring for a tad too long and he was looking right back at her.
He squinted his eyes trying to understand why she was starring at him.
He curled up the corners of his mouth and he frowned at her deeply. It was only now Hermione sat up bolt straight and looked away, hoping that he had turned by now or he might have dismissed her to be starring at the wall behind him, but he didn't shrug and continue on with his work, he continued to frown at her- ever so rarely glancing at the board or his work to check his notes.
Snaps was in fact talking quite loud at the front of the classroom. He began to growl at a Griffinodre student which made the Blonde Slytherin's attention turn to the front to laugh.
What was the teacher saying? Well if you asked Hermione she would've said something like 'Potions ingredients?' But she simply rested her chin on her arm again and began to admire the perfect boy across the room from her.
Hermione shook her head out of her gaze as some long pale fingers had tapped her on the shoulder. Ron was looking at her strangely, "We're going." Ron said.
Hermione had only now that he said, noticed that everyone had stood and was packing their things. Hermione stood up glancing at the spot her hopeless romantic crush stood before she turned to Harry appalled by his joke, "What you got a crush on Malfoy or something?" He laughed.
Ron smirked, "Yeah like that's possible."
Hermione shook her head quickly before she pointed to the wall at the spot he stood a few meet minutes ago, "The tapestry, its Muggle style. I was just admiring it."
Ron and Harry shrugged before a brief conversation about Qudditch began.
Ah, something else to fantasize about, the blonde boy was a Qudditch player. Oh how she had always longed to run up to him after winning a match and kiss him.
She left the classroom with Ron and Harry by her side and made her way into the corridor, a smile still half froze on her face in day dream.
Then she saw Draco and his friends picking on a Griffindore. Then reality hit her- it her her so hard that her legs stopped, her mind scrambled in confusion and her stomach felt sick. We could never ever be together.
She just ignored the way Ron and Harry were looking at her before Hermione continued walking alongside them, her face plastered with a fake smile. That's right.
She had forgotten. She was a Muggleborn and a Griffindore. What could make him any more repulsed than that?
She shook her head before quickening her pace, happy that Ron and Harry had continued their chat about Qudditch.
Why the ferret? The thought filling her head. Ferrets are meant to be soft and cuddly...

She fell back on the couch beside a boy with dark hair and darkly tan New Zealand skin, "Had a tough day today?" He asked as he brought his book down from his face, revealing his dark black eyes.
Hermione sighed, "You could only imagine." She said quickly before pointing at his blue Ravenclaw tie to distract herself, "It's the wrong way." She said.
The boy sighed with a fake sad face and fixed it up, "Why you gotta make me look like a fool Hermione?" He snapped in a high pitched voice. Hermione laughed shortly, "How was your day Jamie?"
He purses his lips, "Something got to be bothering you- such quickness to change subject, what's your problem, boys? Girls? Tell me honey."
Hermione giggled again at his female like voice which she loved about him, "Well how do you tell I boy you like him if your his least interest and your his enemies best friend."
Jamie thought for a moment before he looked into the bright colored fire burning in the fireplace before he turned to her, "It's a Slytherin isn't it? Isn't it?"
Hermione sighed, "I'm wish I could tell you."
The door behind them opened and a girl with long blonde hair and bright blue eyes entered the heads common room. "Sounds like a tragical romance to me." She leant against the creamy colored walls and looked at them on the couch by the fire. She placed her bag on the wooden floor before bending down and taking out a container.
"Yass Emily- you girl always know when to bring them cookies." Jamie said. Hermione laughed as Emily walked over and handed them the container. "They better be them double choc chip or we about to go down." Jamie joked.
Hermione and Emily we're halfway through laughing as a fourth person entered the room. He tossed his blonde hair in his fingers and strode pats them starring strangely at the curly haired girl and Jamie on the couch together. "Ugh, you guys like a thing now?" He snarled.
Jamie rolled his eyes, "What?" He snapped putting the cookies down on the table in anger.
Draco stopped at his bedroom door which was beside Jamie's near the corner. "No offense but I don't think you guys look good together."
Hermione raised an eyebrow as he slammed his door shut. Jamie frowned at where he just was, calling out to him hoping he would hear, "Boy how many times do I have to tell you- I'm Gay! I- am- Gay!" He shouted.
Hermione laughed at him. Jamie pulled Hermione into a hug, "Stop Harrasing my girl Granger, Okay?"
Emily turned to the door as silence continued from it.
Hermione shrugged, "It's okay guys, I now have to enjoy his angry behavior later tonight for patrols."
Jamie shook his head, "Good luck honey."
Emily took Hermione's hand as she stood up, "Now this isn't very nice for me to say- but your gonna need luck with him."
Hermione nodded, "Hopefully he doesn't bring some girl along."
The blonde haired boy had entered the common room a second time as he headed to the door out, he glared at them sitting on the couch together. "What are you guys? The Brady bunch or something?"
Hermione half coughed half laughed as he reached for the door handle.
The blonde haired boy turned around, "What's so funny?"
Emily and Jamie turned to Hermione as well. Hermione seemed to just be holding in laughter, "The Brady Bunch is a- Muggle tv show." She said. All three of them began to laugh as Draco opene Shia mouth to speak but left with nothing more to say.
Jamie turned to Hermione, "Damn girl you just embarrassed the hell out of that boy."
Hermione nodded, "Imagine telling that to the class."
Jamie nodded in approval, "You should do that, as Karma."
Emily shook her head, "That's not a smart idea-"
Jamie shook his head, "If your so smart you should be in Ravenclaw."
Hermione stood up to grab her bag, "Well if your so sly and evil you should be in Slytherin!"
Hermione stopped at the door in the silence.
She rolled her eyes as Emily and Jamie burst out laughing as she left.

Hermione pointed her wand in front of her, her heart racing.
Only a moment ago she had heard a swift movement.
She pointed her wand with the spell Lumos into the night, but the darkness devoured it like a snack.
She couldn't see more than a footstep infront of her. She took a step forward only to regret it as another movement sounded on the corridor floors around her.
Hermione shook her head, "Malfoy this isn't funny-"
"Expelliarmus!"
Her mind was racing as her wand pried itself from her fingers and flew behind her, over her shoulder into the darkness.
She shook her head, "Malfoy I swear-"
Suddenly a light flickered on and half of the corridor was alight. She turned to the blonde haired boy with her wand in his hand. His eyes full with that luminous glow she was so firmiliar of and his lips curved into a smirk.
"And they wonder why I hate doing corridor duty at night with you." Hermione crossed her arms.
The Blonde wasn't playing a game to her anger. "Give me my wand back." She said sternly, already sick of the fact she had to stand without a light of her own in the surrounding darkness in which if he were to leave would swallow her.
"Okay, tell me why you were starring at me in class." He said. His smirk had disappeared as if he would throw up if she said what she wanted to say, the truth.
"The tapestry behind you is muggle style, it's scottish." She said, "I just like it."
"No it's not, it was made in London by a wizard- god and they told me you read?"
Hermione sighed. Ron and Harry fell for it..
"Why were you starring at me in class?" Draco said. Hermione shook her head, "It wouldn't matter."
"Why not?" Draco asked. He remembered Blaise's dare earlier today.

"Draco?"
Draco focused on the wall starring at it strangely. Why was she starring at me?
He looked up to find Pansy, Blaise and Jack looking at him. "Uh, dare- and make it good because the ones you guys come up with are too easy."
"Okay." Blaise Said, a smirk growing on his face. He turned to Pansy and they began whispering behind his hand.
"You have to go on a date with.." Blaise stopped unsure of what he had said, he glanced at Pansy, "With Hermione Granger and then stand her up."
Draco frowned, "what? No I can't-"
Pansy raised an eyebrow, "got a soft spot for Granger?"
Draco shook his head, "Eww no, I just wouldn't stand up someone- Blaise if I stood her up then it would amuse you because I would be in pain-"
"And jack has to hide and film her reaction." Blaise finished.
Draco looked at them all. This was going a bit too far.
Pansy gave him a strange smile that said 'you like Granger'.
He shook his head on half disgust and said, "Fine I'll do it."
Blaise highfived Pansy.

Hermione sighed, "Because- can I just have my wand."
Draco shook his head, smiling at her anger.
"Please." She asked.
Draco shook head, "Why were you starring at me?"
"Just give me my wand-"
"Why-"
"Because I'm afraid of the dark!" She shouted. She covered her mouth quickly as it echoed off of the walls.
Draco flinched, "Why were you starring at me."
"Because I want to be friends with you." She said.
Draco looked half surprised, his eyebrows were up but he was also half frowning. "What?"
He took her wand from his hand a stood back, "There now leave me alone." She flickered her wand and it lit up, she turned on her heel to leave.
"Granger."
She turned around, "Yes?" She might be mad at him but she wasn't going to ignore him.
"Do you wanna-" He stopped, feeling we're going to be hurt in this situation. Oh come one, it's Granger, the mudblood?
"Do you want to go on a date." He pronounced every word clearly. Hermione blinked a few times. "Really?"
Shock was covering her face. She seemed surprised and happy.
He felt like stomping on his own foot. What am I doing?
He was getting her all excited about a date and then standing her up- wait why does she look so happy?
Does she like-
"Yes." She said softly. It was his turn to be surprised, "What?"
"Yes I'll go on a date with you." She said before smiling and turned around to continue her patrols.
He watched her curls and her straight back and long legs dissapear in front of him into the darkness before he rubbed his neck with his hand. "Damn you Malfoy." He said, and he relay did stomp on his own foot, now having to watch a video of her crying because he wasn't there.
But there was one thing he had to touch on above that. She likes me?
