Tokyo was ablaze. The eight-headed serpent Orochi had awoken from his slumber and began tearing through the city. Red bolts of hate blasted out of his eyes and fire burst from his mouths, tearing through the last building. The serpent looked out to the sea beyond Tokyo Bay, ready to destroy the rest of the world. But as he stepped into the waves, the water in the bay began bubbling. He tilted his eight heads, before backing out of the water as a swell started to approach him. It reached the middle of the Bay and burst, sending salty water crashing into the hydra's eyes, temporarily blinding him.
When his vision cleared, what he saw made him explode with laughter. The mutated lobster Ebirah shrieked a challenge to the hydra. Leave or die. While it was true they both killed humans, that was where their similarities ended. Ebirah killed humans as he needed to eat, it was the basic law of nature, while Orochi killed humans for fun.
Ebirah made the first move, surging through the water. With a bored look on his faces, Orochi let loose streams of fire from all eight of his mouths. Ebirah stopped and lowered his underbelly, then retracting his eyestalks. The fire washed over the lobster, sending a cloud of steam into the air. The hydra grinned, too easy. Or so he thought.
Ebirah burst from the steam, slamming his big claw on one head, stabbing with his spear-like one, and whipping with his antenna. He had taken a blast of Godzilla's Atomic Breath to the gills, plain old fire was nothing. Orochi roared on shock, how could this creature survive? Turning several of his heads down, he fired red bolts of electricity upon the crustacean. Shards of Ebirah's shell flew into the air while their owner backed away shrieking and waving his claws. Seeing an opportunity, Orochi darted one of his heads toward Ebirah's head. The colossal crustacean countered with a powerful backhand, breaking the head's nose and knocking out teeth.
Orochi roared in outrage, how dare this thing make him bleed! Ebirah found himself bombarded with red beams of anger. With his target distracted, Orochi darted one of his heads towards Ebirah's legs. But Ebirah was smarter then he let on, and slashed his spear claw across the eyes of the head, blinding it. Orochi cried out in agony, blasting Ebirah with streams of fire, not caring that it wasn't very effective. As the blaze died down, Ebirah took notice of the fact that he was having trouble breathing.
While Ebirah could move out of the water and breathe just fine, his gills needed to be wet. If they dried out, they tended to stick together, and closed, preventing him from breathing effectively.
Orochi took advantage of this and punted Ebirah in the mouth, sending him flying into the bay, a trail of a clear liquid that changed blue trailing from his mandibles, his blood reacting to the oxygen in the air. The lobster crashed down on a barge full of tires, destroying it.
Ebirah rose up, tires stuck to his spines and antenna. Orochi fired lightning from his eight maws, planning on frying the lobster. Ebirah braced for the pain, but to his surprise, the electricity washed over him harmlessly. Little did the two know, the rubber tires absorbed the electricity. Shrieking loudly, he gloated Orochi while backing up. The hydra hissed and stepped into the waves. The two continued out of the bay, Orochi too focused on literally ripping Ebirah limb-to-limb to notice the water getting higher and higher until Ebirah dived under the waves.
Orochi hissed at the fact a lobster of all creatures tricked him. But before he could turn back, Ebirah burst out of the water and stabbed his big claw into his side. Orochi hollered in agony, Ebirah worsening the wound by opening his claw, tearing the flesh open even more. Orochi snapped at the annoyance, but Ebirah dived underwater before Orochi's jaws could make contact.
The hydra growled, looking around for his slippery foe. Ebirah darted by underwater, slicing Orochi's leg as he passed. Orochi blasted fire at the retreating lobster, trying to boil him alive, but to no avail. He looped around and darted forward and stabbed the top of Orochi's back with an open claw, catching Orochi's spine between the halves. Then he shut his claw with a sicking crunch, paralyzing Orochi from the waist down.
Orochi screamed in pain and rage. As Ebirah dived under the waves, Orochi followed, rage taking over common sense. Ebirah was better suited for the water and shot out of view. Orochi just kept walking. Hiding under the sand, Ebirah watched his eight-headed foe. He hissed as Orochi's mere presence killed the reef he was entering. With a flick of his tail, he shot up, then rocked down, stabbing Orochi in the shoulder. The hydra hissed in pain, bubbled drifting from his jaws. Several heads bent back and clamped down on the lobster and threw him off, blood clouding from the wound.
Ebirah crashed through a rock protruding from the ground. He pushed off the ground and shot at Orochi, who swung several heads, smacking the lobster aside. Ebirah clamped down on one of the head's snouts before he could go very far. He swung his spear-claw, slicing a gash in another head's snout. Orochi roared in rage, bubbles of air bellowing from his maws. Several heads reached out, only for Ebirah to let go and flick his tail, darting away. He noted the bubbles drifting away and knew he just needed to outlast his foe. Orochi attempted to fry Ebirah, not realizing what happens when electricity and water met, and wound up zapping himself. Ebirah was fine thanks to the tires.
Orochi barreled forward, slamming into Ebirah and sending him skipping across the ground before he dug his legs into the ground to stop, kicking up sand in a cloud between them. Orochi hissed before punting a rock where he thought the lobster was. A moment later, the rock shot out, taking Orochi by surprise. The rock shattered against his faces and he roared in pain.
It was at that moment he realized something was wrong. Ebirah shot overhead and dived into a cave, but Orochi was focused on the pain in his chest. He was running out of air! That blasted lobster had tricked him. He turned around and dragged his body toward the surface. Right in his path was a tunnel, and inside was Ebirah. The lobster tensed as Orochi's heads appeared over him, but the hydra was too focused on getting air to see him. His chest appeared in the cave opening and with a flick of his tail, Ebirah darted forward, spear claw aimed.
The surface of the water bubbled and frothed. The survivors of Orochi's rampage looked on in fear, had the hydra returned? Those fears dissolved when Ebirah burst from the waves, Orochi's vile heart impaled on his spear claw. Pulling his arm back, he tossed the heart into the flames of a building, then he dived down on his prize, the body of the Yamata no Orochi
