Izuku Midoriya, aka 'Deku', was considered someone worthless in society. Yes, the young woman had a Quirk of her own, which made her a part of the majority in a world of Quirks. But she also wanted to be a Hero, more than anything in the world. It had been a dream of hers since she was a toddler, to become the greatest Hero of them all. Just like All Might!

Her former friend, Katsuki Bakugo, made sure she was the butt of the joke whenever the topic of Heroes came up. The young woman may have had a Quirk, but to say it was at least viable for a Pro Hero would be like saying the sun is a little hot. Izuku may not have been Quirkless but with how people treated her and how insignificant in presence it is, she could have told people she was and they wouldn't any reason to think otherwise.

It was strange how everything was going at an all time low for her throughout one day, only to have it to be the best possible day so far in her young life.

Izuku had nearly been killed by a villain with a slime-body Quirk, nearly fell to her death if she released her idol's legs from so high up, nearly had her dream completely destroyed for good this time, nearly died to the same slime villain while trying to save her former friend, and nearly believed the words of the scolding Pros and Katsuki when they tried to put down her actions. Everything that day was worth it when she finally heard the words she never expected to hear from her idol.

'You, young lady… You too can become a Hero!'

From then on up until the U.A. Entrance Exam, she put her mind and body through hell, all so she can make her body a worthy vessel for her now mentor's incredible Quirk. It took ten months for her to finally obtain such a power, and yet she hadn't the slightest clue on how to use it.

She made it to the front of the main building, but simply stood in awe and anxiety at where she was. It had been her dream since she was a toddler to follow in All Might's footsteps, to become the greatest Hero to ever live. To think, it had been nothing more than a pipedream not a year ago. All the putdowns, the insults, all the tough spots in her life were finally being contested with this one day to prove herself as capable. And yet, there was still the feeling of having it all not be worth it if she fails. She couldn't will herself to move past her spot in the middle of the walkway.

"OUT OF MY WAY, DEKU!" shouted an angry voice Izuku was all too familiar with by now.

She wanted to turn and oblige to Katsuki's command, but she had been so stricken with fear on top of the uneasiness that she couldn't will herself to move as she heard the light stomping get closer.

"I SAID MOVE, STUPID!"

She felt a hard impact on her back, most likely due to the blond Bakugo shoving her out of the way, and she began falling over. She was brought out of her senses enough to have her hands try and brace the fall, but she found herself staring at the concrete walkway. The rest of her body hadn't touched the ground either.

"Watch where you're going, jerk!" shouted a boyish voice from above her. Izuku spotted a pair of sneakers and pant legs that probably belonged to the voice. "Are you okay?"

The greenette felt a pair of hands grab a hold of her upper arms, an unintended squeak escaping her mouth, and stood her upright. She got a good look at the boy now that he was in front of her; albeit a bit against her will, even if it wasn't intentional. He had short, chocolate brown hair in a messy bowl cut with bits of hair popping up here and there; large, equally brown eyes; and a pair of blush marks under his eyes. He wore a standard middle school uniform with a ragged, faded pink scarf around his neck. He was also a full head taller than her so she had to crane her neck a bit to look at her… savior? Was that the word you used when you got help?

Izuku could feel her face heat up as she tried and failed to form a coherent sentence. Due to her lack of social interaction, she was always socially awkward around people, even more so with the opposite sex. He let her go and placed the pads of his fingers together with their opposites on the other hand. He had closed his eyes as he spoke to her.

"Sorry for using my Quirk on you, but I figured you wouldn't mind. Falling before a big exam would be reeeeally bad luck, afterall. Especially with those mega jerks out and about."

When he opened his eyes to look at the shorter girl, he noticed the wide, emerald eyes staring back at him and her face a few shades too red to be healthy. It almost sounded like she was trying to speak, but it only came out as a jumbled mess of sounds.

"Um… well, good luck on the test! Bye!"

Izuku was left behind as the boy in a bit of a hurry. She still couldn't see too well from how warm she was feeling at the moment, but she could have sworn his blush marks were bigger than they were before.

Strangely enough, she didn't feel any of the stress from earlier after that exchange. She may have made a fool of herself, but she couldn't bring herself to feel entirely embarrassed.

Afterall, aside from her mom, it was the first time someone her age had willingly helped her since she was a child.

"Th…Thank you…"

With more vigor in her step, Izuku continued her trek to the testing area, now more willing to take on the challenges ahead.

AN: Yes, I'm not above fluff pieces. This was just the result of another idea bouncing around my head, especially with the *stuff* going on right now. It's absolutely *freakin* ridiculous. This is just something for me to chew on as I'm working on 'Pop Hero' and 'Hakai and Souzou'. Those two drain the *stuff* out of me sometimes, so this is more of a reliever story for me.

Stay safe out there!
