Wow, thanks for stopping by to read!
This is a semi-spinoff to Grouptale. No spoilers are included/will be included until the story's epilogue has been posted. Most of the TNG chapters can be read with no context, as they are purely for entertainment and fluff. (If you see "NC" after it then it can be read with no prior knowledge about the game or story. Hence why I may have linked you here, forum friends.
GroupTale will be finished soon, I promise you. I'm working on it.
Ages (these will be different depending on the chapter, so if it's about Erin as a baby obviously the adults will be a lot younger and the other kids won't be alive yet).
Asriel (along with the rest of the GroupTale kids now adults): 37-40 years
Daniella: 24 years
Erin: 12 years
Austin: Around 12 years
Naomi: 11 years
Gabriel: 10 and a half years
Ellie: 10 years
May: 10 years
Belle: 10 years
Noah: Almost 9 years
Nathan: 8 years
Victoria: 1 year
Beach Day: TNG
Asriel wasn't sure how he had gotten himself roped into taking so many children to the beach; he had been stuck with four of them with Daniella driving the other six. Austin was sitting in the passenger's seat with a smirk across his face. Sitting behind Asriel was May, then Ellie in the middle, and finally there was Noah, who was behind his brother.
Ellie was playing sudoku in a little travel sized book. May thought she was a dweeb and teased her twin as she played a game on her iPod.
"Unc, are we almost there?" Austin complained, leaning back in his seat. Asriel looked at the GPS and what the estimated time was. It was still about ten more minutes, but they'd finally be at the beach.
"Yes, Austin. You're the oldest here yet you're also so impatient," He chuckled, "I can tell you got that from your father. Certainly not your mother." Asriel looked a lot like Asgore did. He had a golden goatee (hehe get it because he's a goat) and had grown hair like Asgore had a top his head, and his horns had grown out as well.
"I'm down to my last chocolate bar, cut me some slack." Austin said defensively as he took another bite, "'sides, I want to go for a dip in the ocean."
Asriel smiled, thinking how much he sounded like Chara. Except anytime Chara went to the beach, he tried to stab the sea creatures. Mostly the sharks. None of the others ever seemed to approve, so they stopped taking Chara with them. Nonetheless, none of Asriel's friends had went to the beach with all of their kids. He remembered after Erin and Austin were born they got to go, but typically the families couldn't keep up because there were too many kids to look after.
Although not being biologically related to any of them, the kids had all began to call him their Uncle Asriel, along with calling Toriel their grandma. Seeing as this nickname had started to become a regular thing, he took great pride upon it and often had a blast taking care of them.
"I'd like to make a sandcastle," Ellie commented from her seat. She wasn't sitting forward, rather twisted to the side with her back on her sister's shoulder and facing Noah as she continued putting numbers in the boxes.
"Yeehaw-! Finally, something we agree on!" May cheered, pumping her fist, "I was hoping you'd want to do that. I'd like to swim too, but making a killer sandcastle is priority number one."
"You thought sandcastles were lame last time I checked," Ellie smirked, "Why the change of heart?"
"Pssh. Sandcastles are great! I don't know when I told you they weren't!"
"I hope we can see animals," Noah clasped his hands together as he cut in.
"I don't think we'll see any from the sand, you dimwit." Austin snorted, turned around in his seat.
"Austin, don't call your brother a dimwit," Asriel frowned, "That's not very polite." He chided as he made a left turn and into the parking area. A white minivan followed behind and both stopped and parked right next to each other.
Daniella was the first to get out of the car- she had long brown hair which she kept in a ponytail and her eyes were a pale grey. Erin got out of passenger and high fived Asriel before stretching. She wasn't really wearing a "cute" bathing suit. She was wearing a shirt designed specifically for swimming over her bathing suit and a pair of old shorts. Despite her aunt's efforts the whole way there, she refused to change her mind and take off the shirt and shorts.
Belle, on the other hand, was wearing a simple three piece with a plain design on it. She didn't seem too self conscious and instead just wanted to focus on having fun.
"Man, I'm excited!" Nathan bounced into his toes once out of the car, "This'll be so much fun!"
"We haven't been to the beach much before, so it'll be a fun experience!" Gabriel agreed as Naomi nodded and jumped out herself. Daniella took out a cooler and then a stroller, placing Victoria in it and then making sure the visor was on to keep the light from hitting her face.
"I'll pull the cooler along," Gabriel offered, his hand on the handle and already pulling it towards the beach.
Naomi pulled on Daniella's sleeve, signing to her that she wanted to push Victoria's stroller. She smiled, thought of a basic sign, and gave it back to her, although Naomi understood English when spoken to her.
Asriel and Daniella trailed behind the kids, deciding to let them choose a spot. There was also a huge plastic bag that May was holding, which had pails, shovels, and other things they could play with on the sand and in the water.
Arriving at a spot where they could keep a close eye on the kids yet they could also keep their chairs from getting wet, the group settled down. May opened up her bag and let everyone collect their respective items. Belle pulled out a boogie board to use in the water, Erin had her goggles, and Nathan had his shovel. Daniella, helped everyone apply their sunscreen because Asriel was useless in that department- it would've just been in his fur and paws and wouldn't have helped the children too much.
Suddenly, a few feet away from the chairs, Nathan began to dig a hole.
"Nathan... what are you doing? Getting sand for the sand castles?" Erin questioned, her brother not looking up at her as he kept digging.
"I'm going to dig to the bottom of the earth, Erin! It's gonna be so cool!"
"Nathan, that's-" Ellie began, pushing up her glasses.
Asriel cut her off, "A great idea! Just keep digging and you'll get there eventually." He encouraged, Ellie tilting her head and mouthing a "why?" at the talking goat.
"Don't disappoint him, Ellie. Nathan really wanted to come here just to dig, so it would kill his mood if you told him that he wouldn't get deep enough to reach the bottom." Asriel explained to the young girl.
"Alright, if that's what you think is best," She sighed, opening up the cooler. She pulled out a bottle of water and then one of the sandwiches they made before leaving; hers was specifically with ham and cheese and it was on a hamburger bun.
"Aw, come on, El. It'll be more fun to enjoy the sun for a bit before you eat lunch," May urged, picking up two of the buckets, "Besides. I want you to help me make our sandcastle!"
Ellie sighed, setting both back into the cooler and closing it, "I'm coming then, May." She walked over to the spot her sister picked out as she loaded the sand into the pail and passed it to Ellie, who went to the water to dampen the sand a bit and make it better for compacting.
Austin ran after Erin towards the water and Noah wandered around with a bucket himself, picking up seashells and smooth rocks and setting them in gently. Naomi walked beside him, wanting to help too. She wasn't big on sand but the sound of the ocean calmed her and she preferred to get a view before diving straight in like some of her friends did.
Naomi tugged on Noah's arm, pointing at a few rocks she thought he'd like when they came across them.
"Wow! This one's so nice! Look!" Noah launched it at the water and it skipped across a few times before sinking. Naomi clapped, trying it herself. It was like a game to her- one she enjoyed playing.
A wave crashed down over Belle and she cheered as she manage to break up from it with her board. Her hair, usually looking a honey brown color, was now much darker, and it was tied into a neat ponytail.
"What about you, Gabriel? Are you going to swim, help Nathan dig, collect seashells...?" Daniella waited for a reply.
Gabriel didn't reply at first as he took Victoria out of her stroller and clutched her close to him, "I want Tori to get a better view of the beach, Ms. Daniella." He replied, his eyes shining, "She won't remember it, but I will. That's why I brought my mom's video camera. I promised Mom and Dad I'd take video of the beach and Me, Naomi, and Tori."
"That's very sweet, Gabriel. Perhaps Victoria will be able to watch it when she's older and enjoy seeing you all when you were younger." Daniella smiled, patting him on the head.
"Aunt Daniella!" Nathan shouted from his hole in the sand, "Can you get me a sandwich and a bottle of water? All this digging has made me hungry!" He wasn't very deep in the hole whatsoever, but he didn't want to ruin it by climbing out.
"Are you sure you don't want to come back up?" Gabriel asked him, frowning, "You might get deep into that hole of yours and you won't have anywhere to dispose of it."
"I'll sit and eat down here. When I'm done, I'll throw my water bottles back up. And I can stuff the sandwich wrapper in my pocket." Nathan replied, having already planned all of this out in his head.
Gabriel sighed, rocking Victoria slightly as she looked up at him with wide eyes. Nathan would be Nathan- stubborn and only liking things when they went his way.
Naomi and Noah arrived back. Naomi pulled out a big seashell and handed it to Victoria.
"Oh, just make sure she doesn't try to bite on it, alright?" Asriel warned, "If there are any sharp edges or she swallows any piece of it, we'll be in trouble."
"Don't eat it, okay, Tori?" Gabriel cooed, acting as if she'd understand him as a one-year-old.
Lucky for them, Victoria fidgeted with it in her hands, having no visible intent of eating it. After a few minutes, she lost interest in the shell entirely and started to fuss. Gabriel handed the baby off to Naomi, not knowing what to do.
"She's probably hungry, Gabe. Your mother gave me a lunch box of foods for her..." Daniella was cut off as he unzipped it, taking a look at what was in it.
"Yes! Yogurt! Tori loves yogurt! Right, Naomi?" He asked his stepsister, who nodded as he started to spoon feed the baby it. Asriel was proud of the two siblings; he was a little hesitant about bringing Victoria with them, worried she'd be better off at home with her mother, but Naomi and Gabriel proved that they were responsible and could help take care of her.
May came running back, sweat pouring down her forehead from the sweltering heat. She opened the cooler and pulled out hers and her sister's sandwich, along with a soda pop and a water bottle, and then ran back to where Ellie had been making their sandcastle.
"Guess they want to defend it with their lives," Noah laughed, "I'm not surprised. They've been working hard on it; it would be a shame if someone destroyed it while they were eating." He placed down the pail with the rest of the shells, running towards the shore to go get Erin, Austin, and Belle for lunch.
"Look at that- Tori's smiling again!" Gabriel put the empty yogurt container in a plastic bag of other trash they had been collecting throughout the trip. Naomi stroked her cheek gently, causing the baby to let out a tiny giggle.
Erin and Austin didn't plan on being back for long- both wolfed down their food, about to go back in the ocean when Daniella stopped them.
"You two know the rules- no swimming straight after eating. You should wait a few minutes and let your food digest." She told them. Normally, Erin would've just ran back to the ocean anyways, but that meant her aunt would've told her dad and then she would've been in huge trouble. Daniella didn't scare her- her father did. Only when he was angry or frustrated, though.
Erin sighed, picking out a small bag of Cheez-its and throwing them into the sand, cracking up every time one of the gulls ate one. They must've been starving. They'd swoop down to grab any crumb they could, even if the food was covered in sand.
Belle sat quietly on a towel, staring up into the sky and at the clouds that sometimes passed by to cover the sun.
"Nathan, how deep are you planning on digging?" She then called down, waiting for her brother to reply. Victoria was on her feet, trying to take a few steps in the sand. Naomi caught her before she could hit the ground. Gabriel clapped for her, turning on the video camera to get some footage of his stepsister and half sister.
"I already told you! Till I reach the bottom of the earth!" His voice called back up. She suppressed a laugh, shaking her head at her naive little brother.
"Okay, ten minutes is up, I'm going back to the water!" Erin hopped to her feet, pulling Austin up. In the process, she caused him to knock over his can of cola, but he decided not to make a huge deal over it.
"Really, Er? I'm tired now. I don't want to swim." He complained, looking back to his can which still still had cola spilling out from the opening.
"Come on, you lazy oaf. We're going to go face the waves." She rolled her eyes, pulling him along with her to the ocean shore.
"Look at it!" May grinned, even her sister happy with their results. It had taken a lot of mapping out and building, but they had finally managed to finish their castle. Gabriel got some footage of them on his video camera with it, snapping a few pictures too. Ellie and May rarely got along, even if they were twins. But there were some days when both of them could stand each other. Somehow...
"This wave looks like it'll be a doozy!" Noah mused as Gabriel headed back to the beach chairs. The wave came crashing down on top of their sandcastle, destroying it and all of their hard work.
Ellie groaned. Neither sister wanted to build a new one, but it was frustrating to see their creation demolished so soon after completion.
"For future reference, maybe we shouldn't build it so close to the water..." May told her sister, trying to keep her angry expression as neutral as possible. Ellie understood why she was bitter; she was too.
It took a minute, but May let out a deep breath, "Come on, El. Let's go play in the water and try to survive the waves. Our boards are back with Uncle Asriel and Daniella, so I'll go get both of ours."
"Do not come in the water!" Erin said seconds later as she met up with Ellie on the shore, "There's a dead fish in there! It's disgusting, it looks so gross and gnarly..." She shivered.
"It's not too bad!" Austin protested when he got next to her on the shore, "You're just overreacting. Typical!"
She crinkled her nose, "What's that suppose to mean? I'm daring and all, but I am not going to risk infection from a dead fish that's been in the water for who knows how long. No way, no how."
Ellie plugged her ears at this point, knowing they were going to argue until the other person gave up.
Nathan, on the other hand, kept digging. He was proud of how much he had accomplished- although he was barely four feet underground.
"Thanks, Uncle Asriel," signed Naomi to him, beaming, "Today has been amazing- I'm really happy we all could come on this trip."
"Me too, Naomi," Asriel replied, as he could only read the language and had a difficult time trying to sign things back with his huge paws, "I usually don't get so much time with you unless you're over at your grandma Toriel's. Today's just a special treat."
"One that I hope I will never forget." She answered, hugging the goat gently. She then took off to head back to Victoria and Gabriel, warming his heart as he watched.
"Is the cooler in?" Asriel asked as Austin was about to shut the trunk.
"Of course it is." He responded as he slammed it, heading to the passenger's seat back front, ready to get back on the road.
"I bet Mom will love all of the shells I collected...!" Noah smiled, almost to himself as he stared at the half full pail.
"I bet she will, Noah!" Asriel agreed as he followed after Daniella's minivan.
"Ellie and May's mom too. She loves beaches." Austin added as he leaned back in his seat.
"I think everyone here can second that," Ellie didn't glance up from her puzzles book, but only to hide her obvious smirk. May punched her shoulder playfully as they got onto the highway.
Meanwhile, in Daniella's car...
Hours had passed. Nathan had fallen asleep on Belle's shoulder, Victoria was asleep in her car seat, Gabriel and Naomi were playing a game of uno (despite their sister between them), and Erin was staring at the road ahead.
"Thanks, Aunt Daniella. It was a really fun day at the beach... we should go again sometime." She looked over at her, smiling, which was a rare occurrence for Erin.
"Oh, you're welcome, Erin. I'm glad you all had a fun day. Perhaps we can go again. It'll have to be until next summer, though- you know that I'm only in town for a few more days this week."
"I know... I wish we got to see you more often. You're really cool for being an aunt." She winked as she pulled into their family's driveway.
"Of course I am. Someone has to be a cool aunt." Daniella grinned as the six got out of the car, following herself as Asriel and the other four kids pulled in behind them. Noah still had his pail of seashells, hoping they'd be able to show them off to their parents.
Asriel was relieved that his brother and his friends finally got a day to all chat again. They'd never gotten to have much of a reunion after they all went off to college, and he enjoyed spending the day with the kids.
All ten of his nieces and nephews.
A/N: I cannot stress how excited I was to finally introduce these characters. They mostly will be in one-shots (but only if there is a label with "TNG" in parentheses after the chapter name). I hope you guys collected a bit about them; juggling all ten of them around was a little hard to manage.
What did you guys think of Daniella? Do you want to see more of her? If you didn't catch on, she's siblings with one of the Grouptale kids (Erin, Belle, and Nathan's aunt). She was never mentioned in the main story as she was born after the events of Grouptale (yes, they have a 14-15 year age gap. Deal with it XD). I didn't reveal who it was or the parents of any of the kids because I thought it'd be fun to make you guys guess. I'm linking this story to people who already know a fair bit about who Ethan and Harmony's kids or Tessa and Aiden's kids are, so if you're one of those people don't spoil it. I'll tell you next TNG chapter.
Here, you can have a few clues for the guessing game. This is mainly for people who have read Grouptale, so if you're reading this because I asked you to you can scroll down.
Erin, Belle, Nathan- all siblings
Gabriel, Naomi, and Victoria- Gabriel and Naomi are stepsiblings. Gabriel's mom is married to Naomi's dad. Victoria's their daughter, so she's Gabriel's halfsister and Naomi's half sister.
May and Ellie- twins
Austin and Noah- older and younger brother
All four pairings have either two or three kids (so each pairing matches up to one of the groups of kids above- Ethan x Harmony, Frisk x Chara, Emily x Ivan, and Aiden x Tessa. Yes, one of these couples wasn't together for a while).
Some characters you didn't see much of, I apologize for that. I'm mainly referring to Nathan. He dug a hole the whole time. May and Ellie built a sandcastle. They didn't get much written for them either. Belle just... existed. This was a fun little one-shot I was working on, so you'll definitely see more of them. I apologize if this is very half baked, but it was to get a general idea of what their characters are like. You get extra points if you picked up on Naomi's disability, know why Victoria is called "Tori", or if you can figure out who Daniella is related to.
I appreciate your read, thank you :D!
