At 6 foot 5, and 265 pounds, Drew McIntyre just wanted to look at her, without attracting so much attention. Take her in, and remember how her 5 foot 8 frame fit perfectly against his. The way she would sometimes smell like vanilla and cinnamon. The way her skin felt against his. Drew has had memories every day. But at the moment, it was full force and he didn't know how to tame them. But he didn't want to either. Jasmine Anand was the best the best thing to ever happen to him. And he messed up. Badly. When Drew saw a man walk up to Jasmine, he allowed the distance between them to grow. He watched as the large man hugged her and acted a little too friendly with her and showing her more attention than Drew liked. But he had to remind himself that he no longer held that right anymore in her life and stayed back.

Jasmine looked around and Drew managed to make himself blend into the crowd at the mall. She slightly pouted when she didn't notice anything out of the ordinary and turned her attention back to the guy that was talking to her. Drew decided to leave and took one last look at her before doing so. Jasmine feeling the need to take one last look around, she did, and thought she saw a figure that seemed familiar to her. Without having seen the person's face, she didn't think much of it. But it got her thinking about something she thought she had put behind her a long time ago.

A few days later, Drew was having lunch with Stephen Ferrelly. They both met when they were still in Europe, with Stephen being originally from Ireland, and Drew being from Scotland. They were about an inch apart in height, and a few pounds difference in their weight. They have become very good friends over the years, and both now lived in Florida. This was one of the times that they were able to hang out and catch up on things.

"Did you at least talk to her?" Stephen asks, as he takes a bite out of his burger.

"No." Drew replies, eating a fry. "I know I have to apologize, so that's not the issue. It's just so many other things I want to say, but at the same time, I have no idea. It'll be luck if she even gives me the time of day. You haven't seen or talked to her, lately?"

Stephen thinks about it for a moment. "It's been a while since the last time I saw her. With work and whatnot, it's kinda hard sometimes to take time off. We kind of drifted apart not long after you left though, so I don't even know if she still has the same number or if she even lives in the same area that she was in, when we last spoke. But, if you saw here out here, there has to be a reason for why she was out here, right?"

"Yeah. I just know I messed up and I want to fix it so bad." Drew softly says.

"You can do it. But it has to be you that has to go through the work to be able to accomplish it." Stephen says. "And don't mess up, again. Obviously."

"Thanks for the encouragement, mate." Drew replies, almost sarcastically.

The Irishman laughs and shrugs. "What are friends for, right? But honestly, why did you really leave? What really happened, that made you give up the one person that was making you that happiest that you've ever been? Was it someone else?"

"No, there was never anyone else." Drew says. "I was young and stupid, and gave her up for a job opportunity. I gave up what we had for an opportunity at getting ahead, professionally and it cost me the best I've ever had."

"Was it worth it?" Stephen asks.

Drew wiped his hands and made a face. "Is it ever worth it when it makes you lose that special someone in the process?"

This was the biggest mistake he's ever made, and all the regret that he's ever had was proof of it. Drew had been living with that mistake, every single day for the last ten years and the possibility of her having found someone else, would devastate him. Then again, why would she even give him another chance, if she hadn't found someone else?
