First Easter Egg Hunt
Chapter 1.
Here we go.
On an early morning in Spring, a group of people, human and monster, were gathered at the park, setting up an Easter egg hunt, organized by some locals. At the moment, it was all adults, who were there to work together to hide the Easter eggs for the children that would eventually be brought in to hunt for them.
"All right everyone," a familiar purple rabbit woman (the Snowdin Innkeeper) announced, "remember, we don't want to make it too easy, let the kids have a bit of a challenge."
"But, don't make it too hard either," a blond, young, human man (who was contest judge in the Halloween fic) added meekly, "don't hide the eggs anywhere out of their reach...or anywhere they could get hurt...we want the kids to have good, safe, fun."
One of the adults involved was Mettle Thole, who was the biological father of Frisk, and as he helped hide the eggs, he could not help but stop and examine one closely.
"So, these are real eggs?" the young human male asked.
"Yes, they are," Toriel explained, "they are hard-boiled, a bunch of us got together yesterday and helped boil them, Frisk helped too."
"I see," Mettle replied, "but, how do you color them?"
At that moment, he realized that the other adults were staring at him curiously.
"You...do not know how Easter eggs are colored?" Toriel prompted, "I know Frisk said this was his first experience with Easter eggs, but, we figured that most humans were at least familiar with Easter eggs."
"I knew they existed," Mettle affirmed, "but, nobody where I come from...engages in the practice, this is the first time I've ever seen one of these in person, let alone held one in my hand."
Several seconds of awkward silence passed.
"Anyway, I believe they eggs colored with water, vinegar, and food coloring." Asgore offered.
"Hey, check it out," Sans said to Mettle, "here's an egg Frisk colored."
The short skeleton displayed a purple and blue egg, its coloring resembling a tie dye pattern, which Mettle beheld fondly.
Just then, Asgore caught Undyne up in a tree, attempting to hide eggs in it.
"Undyne," Asgore attested, "they said not to hide the eggs out of the children's reach."
"Aw, come on," Undyne responded, "kids love climbing trees."
"Not all of them do," Asgore contended, "just hide the eggs on low hanging branches."
Yeah, this is going to be a short one, should not be much of a surprise.
