A/N: It's spring and time for Bonesology's spring challenge. We have 9 prompts to choose from I'm doing the eighth prompt, Fans often discuss who fell in love first (Booth or Brennan) and when they knew it: write Christine asking the question at the dinner table and the debate that follows between B (also possible: let the discussion range over several days, with input from the rest of the team.) My entry will be a one shot. The challenge runs April 2 – June 30

B&B

Brennan put a plate of spaghetti in front of Hank, "please use your spoon and not your hands."

"Okay, mommy!" Brennan tucked a dishtowel in the collar of his shirt.

Brennan got her own plate and sat down before turning her attention to Christine who was concentrating on twirling noodles around her fork. "How was your sleepover with Emma, Christine?"

"We had fun. We went to the movies and when we got done we made pizza and watched more movies. We got to stay up really late. This morning we went bowling."

"That sounds fun."

"It was. When Emma comes over next weekend can we go to the museum?"

"Yes."

"Cool! Emma's dad took us to the mall to pick up a present for her mom for their anniversary. Mommy did you fall in love with daddy before he fell in love with you? Emma said her mom loved her dad before he loved her." Christine ate some spaghetti.

Brennan slowly put down her fork and caught Booth's eye, he squeezed her hand, "No, Christine I didn't love your dad before he loved me…"

Booth took a drink of his water and smiled a little at Brennan. "I loved your mom the second I saw her standing in the lecture hall at American University teaching wannabe squints the different ways to examine bones…" Brennan smiled a little when she realized Booth was advoiding telling Christine that her lecture was about de-fleshing techniques.

"Mommy was a teacher?"

Brennan wiped spaghetti off Hank's chin and turned to Christine. "I am still a teacher, I teach my intern every day. I just don't teach classes much anymore now that I work with daddy."

"Oh. When did you fall in love with daddy then?" Christine looked from Brennan to Booth and back.

Brennan glanced at Booth then quickly looked at her plate "After daddy and I started working together I was asked to go to Louisiana to identify some bones for the police there-"

"Without daddy?"

"Yes, without daddy. The day before I was supposed to come home I got hurt and couldn't come home. I called daddy to tell him I wasn't coming home because I was hurt. He got on the first plane and flew to Louisiana and pushed past the nurse to get to me at doctor's office. Then he stayed with me until I was able to come home. I didn't love daddy then like I do now, but I loved him in a way I'd never loved anyone else before. Over the next few years little things happened that made me love your daddy more. Then the year before you were born daddy and I went on separate jobs for a year when your dad told me goodbye at the airport I realized I loved him… a lot…" Booth chuckled lightly. When we started working together again I knew I wanted to be in a relationship, but we had to go through things before that could happen…." Brennan stopped short of telling Christine about Vincent Nigel Murray's death and how it was the catalyst for their relationship. "Then you were born and daddy and I got married." Brennan looked at Booth and smiled, "I can honestly say I love your daddy more and more every day…" Booth smiled and mouthed, 'I love you, too'

That's good." Christine ate some more spaghetti and started talking about what she wanted to do with Emma when she came over next weekend.

Later that night Booth climbed into bed and kissed Brennan, "I love you, Bones. Do you really love me more and more every day?"

"Yes. You lied to Christine, Booth…"

"When did I lie to Christine, Bones?"

"When you told her you fell in love with me the first time you saw me in the lecture hall at

American…"

"It wasn't a lie, I fell in love with you the moment I saw you…"

"…But you didn't know anything about me…"

"I didn't, but I knew I loved you…"

"Booth…"

"It's a feeling I can't explain… I never felt that way with Rebecca or anyone else…"

"The first time I saw you I thought you were very handsome… you still are, I think you get more handsome as you age…" Brennan leaned over and kissed Booth, "I love you, Booth."
