Chapter 1: The names Red
"Red Red get up!" Yep, just a normal day. Mum shouting at me to get up because I overslept by what, 4 minutes?
"Red, you know what happens if you sleep in." I had heard this about a million and one times. "A Hypno might come into my room and steal me in my sleep".
That sound familiar? Because today started out a lot like my first day as a Pokemon Trainer 6 years ago. In many ways, it was coincidental it started off similar, because little did I know that a new adventure was right around the corner.
My name is Red, a former Champion of the Indigo Plateau. I stepped down for, reasons but long story short I went to training on top of Mt Silver. Then I was beaten by some kid from Johto and now I am living a contempt life with Mum and my Pokemon. I even have an upgraded Pokedex now. My partner is a mighty Charizard. This guy has been my best bud since my first day of being a Trainer, when he was a cute Charmander.

Today I went to see Professor Oak. "Red! Nice to see you!" said the Professor. He was fiddling about with some of his documents. "Red, can I ask you for a small favour?" I said yes. "Could you grab a parcel from Viridian City? It would be a great trip down memory lane for you and this parcel needs to be brought here."
I didn't have any plans, so I thought, why not?
I walked along Route 1. Man it felt like forever since I did this for the first time on my journey. I walked through the tall grass and encountered a Rattata.

Its fangs are long and very sharp. They grow continuously so it gnaws on hard things to whittle them down.
Charizard used Flamethrower and singed Rattata.
Before I forget, there is one Pokemon I have an even closer bond to, Pikachu.

Pikachu once upon a time had Mew living inside it which made it very strong. Too strong to take on my journey. But now it stays on my shoulder, mainly because it hates Pokeballs.
I quickly went into the Pokemart and got the parcel. In a shop window, I noticed multiple people gathering around. It looked like breaking news.
"This is KBC news with a special report. People from all over the Kanto region have been experience cyberattacks with this message". On the television screen was a giant red R. Through the gravely footage, I could hear the familiar voice of a foe that I had fought three times in the past.
"People of Kanto. Heed this message. Team Rocket have risen from the ashes a second time! We will take over the Kanto region if you do not do as we say. Give Team Rocket all of your Pokemon on Birth Island in the Sevii Islands. That is all. From Giovanni".
There was murmur among the crowd. "Team Rocket are back again?" "Should we listen to Giovanni?" Every person was talking about one of the many aspects of the situation, but it all ended with everyone looking at me. "Well? You stopped them once" someone said.
I wasn't sure. It was quite a big task.
"Which is why you will need help!" From the crowd came Blue. "So Red. You might know that this a big deal. Even 6 years ago, you needed my assistance to take down Team Rocket. I think you may need it again." I thought about it. "Red. If you think you have a choice in this, you are wrong. Team Rocket needs to be taken down. You can use my help or not."
I said yes, but I needed to find out more about the situation at hand. "That can be easily done" Blue said. "Come on! Let's go see Grandpa Oak!"
Later at the Lab, Professor Oak was telling us about what to do. "The Sevii Islands is an Archipelago of 9 islands. The first 7 are named one island through seven island. The other two are Navel Rock, which houses Legendary Pokémon and Birth Island, which is what was mentioned on the cyber message". I looked at Blue. "So how do we get to the Seveii Islands? It's too far for Blastoise or Starmie to Surf."
Professor Oak gave us a slip. Inside were SS Anne tickets. "You will be taking the SS Anne over. These tickets are not cheap, but I have been saving them for a time like this. Like before, the SS Anne departs from Vermillion City. The tickets should also get you boats around the rest of the islands. I wish you two luck."
That night, I was doing some casual training with Victreebel, working on its Razor Leaf.

I looked out to sea. "Red. It will be fine. This is what 3 years on Mt Silver was building up to. We have a big task ahead of us."
I decided to get some sleep.
