Another short fan story of Sonic's new life on Earth.

(Sonic's POV)
It's been a week and I'm still having the best life on earth with two human friends and their dog. And the people of this town are starting to like me ever since my battle against Dr. Robotnik.
I was watching Justice League 2017 movie while Tom and Maddie are at work and won't be home in a few minutes. It was just me and Ozzy at the couch in the living room.
We hear the door open and I have to guess it's Donut Lord and Pretzel Lady.
"We're home" Tom said.
"Hey Guys. I was wondering when you'll be home. And did you get me pizza that you promised me, Donut Lord?" I asked.
"A promise is a promise" Tom said and gave me two cheese pizza boxes.
"Have you and Ozzy behaving like good children?" Maddie asked.
"Definitely, Pretzel Mom. We are like cute animals that love to get attention" I chuckled and went to the dining table to eat pizza.
I opened the box and the smell from the pizza made me almost drool, "Mmmhmm yummy"
"You really enjoy food on earth?" Tom asked.
"Yes I do" I nodded while taking a slice.
"Save some for me and Tom, bud. I know you eat fast" Maddie said.
"Right sorry" I did as I was told when they too had their pizza.
"So were there any raccoons lately while we were at work?" Tom asked.
"Yup but I shoo them away without scaring them. You know how Maddie loves animals. But they're just hungry as always" I said.
"Mmhmm. Guess they are not as clean as I told Robotnik" Tom said.
"But there's good news, Tom. Animals that eat garbage will be less trash in the ocean and land, I think" I said, eating my slice of pizza.
"He makes a good point, Tom" Maddie said.
"Like tiger sharks, they can eat metallic stuff" Tom said.
"Gross. Anyways, I know I look like a child but I'm really a teenager. Just not the right human teenage height" I said.
"Yes, those from your world are shorter" Tom said.
"Not every of my kind are short, I think. Longclaw was like the height of a human adult" I said as I felt full and gave out a loud burp.
"Ugh, okay" Maddie was a little grossed by me belching.
"Anyways, I'll let you two do the paying bills thingy while I go up in my cave attic" I said.
I headed up and pulled the stair down to get into my cave attic. I started to read every Flash comic I had again rapidly. Then I played with the ping pong by myself again, jumping rope and so forth.
Something came up to me about that little playground I used to play at night when I was 5 years old. And by day I used to see kids playing there while the adults watch them.

And once it was dark, I had the playground for myself. I can still use the playground since I'm 3'3 feet tall. My favorite is the merry-go-round thing because it spins. And I never got woozy from it because well I spindash. The swings, well it helps me think and relieve stress of loneliness. And well the slides I simply glide down as a ball.
"Such good childhood memories" I smiled.
I laid down folding my arms behind my neck, "I hope one day I meet another person from my planet" I thought to myself.
But I better hope the echidnas don't arrive and destroy everything in their path.
I ran back to the Wachowski house before they find out I went out in public at night. Once back I got into the attic through the window. Time to head to bed and hopefully I'll ask Tom or Maddie tomorrow to take me to the playground to see real human kids like Jojo at the playground. I went brushing my teeth and once done I got into my race car bed.

The next morning, I kinda overslept past 9am. Ohhhhh…. what a dream, but I can't remember what I dreamed of. I hear the stair door open and Tom was wondering why I haven't woken up. Too tired to answer to him.
"Sonic? Did you oversleep?" He asked.
With a sluggish groan I nodded, "Yeah"
"Have you been out again late last night?" He asked.
"Yeah, not my fault I'm a free-spirited child" I groaned in my sleep.
"I thought so. Anyway, breakfast is ready" Tom carried me out of bed since I'm too tired to move.
We had eggs and bacon for breakfast, not a bad choice to have in the morning.
"I know I should've gone to bed early but I wanted to see the playground again. It's been one of my favorite things when I came to earth. It just doesn't feel the same without real kids" I said while eating.
"I don't blame you Sonic" Tom said.
"Thanks. I mean I met Jojo but I never met kids at any age face to face. And I would like to meet one again at the playground since today is Saturday. Like you two as my foster parents that will watch their hedgehog son play in the playground" I said and drank my orange juice.
"Yes, our blue boy is growing up fast" Tom playfully pets my head.
"Hehehehe….. thanks Donut Dad" I joked.

A while later they drove me to the playground and I see a few kids playing while their parents watch them.
"Well here goes nothing" I walked casually to the playground.
"Look it's the blue alien" Some kids saw me.
"The blue devil!" The others said.
"Relax, I may be blue but I'm no devil" I held my hands in defense.
"You're our hero" A boy said.
"The town's local hero I'd say" I replied.
"He's so soft like a kitty" the little girl petted my fur arm.
"Okay okay. Now let's have some fun" I decided to change the subject.
"Yes! Let's ride the merry-go-round" A boy suggested.
Ah my favorite; we got onto it and spins it in a normal speed so well they don't get sick. I can't use my speed on them. I don't think they can handle it.
"WOOOOHOOOO!" I played along with them.
They got off to take a breather from the spinning. One girl leads me to the swings and she wanted me to give her a gentle push.
"Here we go" I gently pushed her on the swings, she cheered out happily.
"Having fun?" I asked.
"Yeah! This is so exciting!" The girl giggled.
"Hehehe…. My turn" I jumped on the swing next to her.
The other kid gave me a push and I swung back and forth, "Weeeeeeeee!" I cried out in happiness.
"Enjoying this?" The girl asked.
"Yeah! I am!" I nodded.
The playground reminded me of my old home. Running around the island with those loop-dee-loops.
And it's even more fun when there's people playing around. Then I heard a melody music or something and it made the kids scream in joy.
"Um...What's happening?" I asked.
"Ice cream truck. Come!" The little girl dragged me by the arm.
We got to the ice cream truck and I looked at the different types of ice cream and snow cones.
"Hmmmm….. I don't know what to pick here" I said.
"Try the red white and blue ice pop rocket. It goes with your fur and shoes" The girl and asked the ice cream man for an ice pop rocket and she paid one for me. Very nice of her like cousin Jojo.
"Thank you so much" I thank her.
"You're welcome Mr. Hedgehog" She said.
I walked up to Tom and Maddie that are sitting at the picnic table as I licked the ice pop. A little cold but it did have flavor.
"We all saw. Very thoughtful of her" Maddie said.
"Yeah. This taste like blue berry and strawberry at the same time" I said.
"I see" Maddie said.
"Maybe you should befriend some kids and teens here" Tom said.
"Maybe. Kids at a young age see me as a cute and adorable alien hedgehog. But teenagers...I don't know about that" I said, noticing the ice pop is melting a little.
"Well take your time" Tom said.
"I will" I said while resuming eating my ice cream.
"So after this, perhaps lunch at the M restaurant place where kids and adults love?" I asked.
"You mean the McDonalds? Of course" Tom said.
I finished my ice pop and threw the stick in the trash can, "My tongue is blue, isn't it?" I asked.
"Yeah it is" Tom saw my tongue.

We then headed to McDonalds that was nearby the park. Inside smelled like cheeseburgers and French fries, "Grown-up meal please. I'll wait at the table" I said and walked to an empty seated table near the window.
While waiting, I looked through the window thinking to myself.
"Meeting another teenager, they said. Hmmmm I wonder if they are all not troublesome" I thought to myself.
I remember one time a group of teenage boys in the streets bully young kids and I had to do something. Being hidden at times I used my speed the same way like at the bar fight I pranked the teens without being discovered. Boy how humiliated they were afterwards when they thought it was a ghost. But I don't know what teenage girls do and I hope they are not troublesome too.
"Here's your meal for you Sonic" Tom hands it to me.
My thoughts were interrupted when Tom and Maddie came back with our McDonalds meals on a tray.
"Thanks" I unwrapped it and looked at the delicious Mcdouble he gave me, "Yummy" I ate it in one bite.
"Maybe he should go to school and make friends with teens at his age" Maddie suggested.
"I don't think so. You know how teenagers are. I care about our blue devil being who he is" Tom said.
"What's wrong with school? Aren't schools supposed to be for children to learn?" I asked.
"Well you need education" Tom said.
"There's one problem. I'm not a human" I said while eating.
"Never mind" Tom said.
"Trust me, if I go to a human school, it will cause a lot of attention. I mean I can read" I said.
"Fair enough plus you just learned how to drive" Tom said.
"Yeah, without a license. I'll never understand why adults need to carry a license to drive a car" I said, sipping my soda.
"Well, to show that they can drive, use it as identification and so forth" Tom said.
"Oh, and how old does the person has to drive?" I asked.
"Usually they have to be 16 years old" Tom said.
"Wow, I guess I have to wait when I'm 16 years old" I said.
"Yep" Tom nodded.

After having lunch, we went for some sightseeing in town. It is a small town but I love it. Now living with a family, I have no fear showing myself to the citizens, but the rest of the world has to wait see me.
"I love this town" I said.
"Glad you do Sonic. You're our hero" Maddie said.
"Who knows, maybe they are gonna raise a statue of me someday. But maybe not since I'm not looking forward to fame" I said.
"Nobody really wants to be famous these days" Maddie said.
"Yeah. I guess. But still everyone here views me like a local celebrity" I said.
Days passed and more people are getting used to me living in town. I may miss my world but Earth will be my current home.
