Enjoy the chapter! Oh, and I don't own the Rugrats, either in baby or in adolescent form!

Phil Deville was never the most hygienic person. In fact, despite how seriously he took cooking, he had given it up in the name of not having to wash his hands. It was crazy; just what would it have taken for Phil to realize that good hygiene was necessary in life?

Well, there was a trial in his life where he finally learned his lesson.

One day, Phil had been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus. Even worse, he had contracted the deadly virus to Wally, who his feelings had become quite strong for. Phil was fortunate enough to recover from the virus fairly easily, but Wally didn't have such luck. She had come just inches away from dying as a result of the disease.

Phil realized that it was his poor hygiene that played a crucial part in Wally's critical state. Contracting coronavirus wasn't really much different from contracting the flu. He had never felt so guilty in his life. He cried multiple times each day, blaming himself for what had happened, and he had even resorted to regular praying to the Lord for Him to cure Wally. Through all of this, Phil at last made a resolve to exercise proper personal hygiene should Wally manage to recover from her illness.

Finally, after a long battle with the virus, Phil's prayers had been answered and Wally had recovered. Phil would then make sure from now on that while it was okay to have some "gross" shenanigans, he would still be hygienic enough where he wasn't going to contract any more illnesses.

After all, if Phil did wind up killing Wally from something like coronavirus, he would not be able to cook his most scrumptious meals for her.
