Old Crush Revealed

"Leave him alone Eros," Percy growled. "If he doesn't want to answer your question, he doesn't have to."

Nico stared at Percy, shocked that The Sea Prince was defending him. In front of them, Eros scowled, glaring heatedly at the son of Poseidon, before breaking out into an evil grin.

"Oh? If he doesn't answer my question how about you take his place." Eros sounded smug as if Percy answering one of his questions was even better than The Ghost King admitting his crush.

Jason turned to look at Percy, wondering if he was going to back down. Even he had to admit that he didn't want to talk about his deepest secrets with the god of love. Especially not in front of an audience.

Beside him, Nico was having an inner turmoil. While he didn't want to admit to crushing on The Sea Prince, especially not in front of him, he didn't want Percy to take his place. Before he could open his mouth to voice his protest, however, Percy responded.

"Alright. It's not like I have anything to hide."

Eros' grin just widened at his response. "Are you sure about that?"

The son of Poseidon looked back at him, confidence shining brightly in his eyes, "Absolutely."

He sounded so certain that neither Jason nor Nico would doubt him, but one look on Eros' face had Jason questioning that. Eros was smirking like he knew something they didn't, but that didn't seem to deter the Sea Prince's confidence.

"How about your first crush?" Eros inquired, seemingly innocent.

Jason didn't understand why that was a big deal and a glance at Nico told him that he wasn't the only one. Percy, however, appeared just as confused, if not more.

"What about it?" Percy asked back seemingly perplexed at what the god was asking him.

At this point, Eros was smirking wickedly. "Will you admit who they are? You said you had nothing to hide. Why would you need to hide the identity of your first crush? Are you ashamed of it?"

Nico furrowed his eyebrows, confused. He didn't understand why Eros would ask something like that. Everyone knew Percy's first crush was Annabeth. So why would Eros say that the son of Poseidon was concealing the identity of his first crush? Even if it wasn't Annabeth the next option would have been Rachel, which still wasn't much of a secret. Nico was broken out of his musings by Percy answering, "Who said I was hiding my first crush?"

Percy had one eyebrow raised with a look that told the son of Hades he was amused by Eros' question. It was minuscule compared to The Sea Prince's usual expressions, but Nico still saw it.

"You never mention them to anybody, and the only person who knew was said crush"

Jason felt lost, he had no idea what the god was talking about, but it seemed like the son of Poseidon knew exactly what, or rather who, Cupid was referring to. Despite this, Percy's confidence didn't waver. If anything, he looked bored, as if this entire conversation was meaningless. A sigh broke him out of his thoughts and directed his attention back at Percy.

"I never mentioned them because it was years ago. Plus I was young and näive, what did I know about love?" Percy said, rolling his eyes. "I am not, however, afraid to admit that my first crush was Luke Castellan."

Jason's eyes widened at that piece of information. While he didn't know exactly who Luke was he knew that that name was forbidden around Camp Half-blood. He knew that Luke was a son of Hermes, and was a cabin counsellor who had died in the war, but that's about it. Whenever he brought it up around the old campers, their expression would darken and they would say something vague; like an old camper. No one would tell him what exactly Luke had done to invoke such a negative reaction among the campers. Knowing that Percy had a crush on this guy just added to his list of questions about him. Stealing a glance at Nico, he saw that The Ghost King's mouth had fallen open, and he was staring at Percy in disbelief. "W-what?"

Thoughts were running through Nico's head at a million miles an hour. Percy had a crush on Luke?! Since when was he gay? Does that mean he has a chance? Nico beat that last one back venomously. Even if Percy was into guys, there is no way he would like someone like Nico. The Sea Prince was way out of his league. Shaking himself out of his thoughts he looked back at Percy, who still stood up straight with his chin up, looking like a proud warrior.

Percy could feel his cousins gazes burning holes into the back of his head, but he just ignored them in favour of locking his gaze on the god in front of him. He was certain they had questions, but he had no intention of answering them right now. They had a time limit and things like these could be pondered at a later date. However, Eros wasn't paying attention to Percy. No, his attention was locked on to the reactions of his companions. "Judging by your friend's reactions you never told them."

The Sea Prince shrugged at that, "I never really told anyone. It wasn't that I was ashamed of my crush, it was more like I didn't even realize I had a crush until I was 15."

Jason looked at him confused. "What do you mean you didn't know it was a crush?"

Percy turned to face him. "I mean I never realized I was crushing on him. I thought his betrayal stung because he was one of my first friends, the one who welcomed me into camp. It wasn't until the Styx that I realized I was crushing on him."

To Jason, this didn't make much sense. With his limited knowledge of who Luke was, he felt like there was a huge gap in Percy's story, but apparently, it filled in a hole in Nico's story.

"Is that why you were so shaken when you came out? You saw Luke in the Styx?" Nico questioned wide-eyed.

"Yeah, Luke was one of the main people who connected me to the mortal world. That's when I realized why his betrayal stung so badly. That's when I realized when I had a crush on him." Percy explained softly.

Before either of them could question him further he turned his attention back to Eros. "I answered your question now give us Diocletian's Sceptre."

"No can do. You have one more question to answer," Eros said, smirking again.

"Well get on with it then," Percy replied, obviously annoyed. They didn't have the time to be here entertaining the god of love. They had a quest to complete before the Gaia awakes.

"I want you to tell your friends your biggest secret," Eros challenged seemingly content with himself. It was as if this question made everything worth it, including the Sceptre.

Jason looked at the son of Poseidon, expecting him to be nervous, but instead, he was just looking at Eros strangely.

"Biggest secret? What secret?" Percy had a confused expression on his face, one that Nico found absolutely adorable. The Sea Prince resembled a lost puppy, with his head cocked to one side.

Eros just continued to smirk. "A secret involving your love life, one that only you would know, one not dissimilar to the one I wanted the son of Hades to admit."

Percy furrowed his eyebrows, deep on thought. After a long pause the smirk dropped off Eros' face, "You do know, don't you? Of course not." Eros' sighed and muttered, "What was I expecting from the most oblivious person on earth."

Eros sighed again, and flashed away, leaving three confused half-bloods behind with Diocletian's Sceptre.

"Dude, what secret was Cupid talking about?" Jason asked curiously.

Percy, however, was flabbergasted. "I don't know. How can there be a secret that only I know, but even I don't know it yet?"

"Maybe you have a crush on someone and you don't realize it yet, like what happened with Luke," Nico suggested. Internally, he knew that Eros had wanted Percy to admit his current crush. After all, the god had said it was similar to the one he wanted Nico to admit. Nico felt crushed at what Eros had implied, but he should have never gotten his hopes up. What chance did he have to make The Sea Price his if Percy was already crushing on someone else? Sighing internally, he turned his attention back to his friends.

Percy was frowning thoughtfully, "Maybe. But who?"
