So I've been wanting to write a KuroMaya fic for a while and this came to me after seeing a cute fanart of Maya cuddling Claudine. I hope you guys like it!

"I think I'm going to retire for the night" Maya said softly, finishing her last sip of tea before getting up from her spot on the couch.

"Already Maya-chan?" Karen whined. "But it's only 7:30 and it's movie night!"

"Karen stop it. She doesn't have to stay here with us if she doesn't want to," Hikari scolded. "Plus we have movie night every Friday, its ok if she misses one." Karen pouted, but said nothing.

It had become a tradition for the nine girls to sit in the common room together and watch a movie every Friday night. Although some wouldn't admit it, I.e. Hikari, Claudine and Junna, they all looked forward to it and often had little spats over what movie to watch. Tonight was Nana's turn to pick and there was no argument to be made when Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory lit up the screen.

"I'm sorry Karen-chan, I'm just tired is all," Maya shrugged, moving around the couch as to not block anyone's view of the screen as the opening credits played. She locked eyes with Claudine for a moment before turning into the hall out of sight.

Claudine waited until Charlies mother began to sing her song to excuse herself to go to the bathroom. With everyone's eyes glued to the screen though, she doubted that anyone even heard her. So silently Claudine slipped out of the common room and turned down the hall, the opposite direction from the bathroom. She knew that tomorrow she would have to come up with some excuse, but she would deal with that in the morning.

"What took you so long Saijo Claudine" Maya smirked, as she sat with perfect posture on the edge of Claudines bed. Claudine locked her bedroom door and rolled her eyes at the brunette. She walked over to her desk and grabbed a black scrunchy, pulling her long blonde hair into a ponytail before sitting down on her bed beside Maya.

"That cocky smirk is making me wish I had stayed out there longer Tendo Maya,"

"Oh stop with that and come give me a kiss" Maya told her, smiling as Claudine connected their lips.

"We're missing out on a good movie you know. I love Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." Claudine complained lightly.

"I know, but I wanted to spend time with you. We don't get to spend much time being together since we're keeping this a secret." Maya's smile turned into a frown at the reminder.

"I know, but its just to be safe. I don't want to risk anything happening to you," Maya nodded solemly, biting her lip. Her parents were the reason for their secret relationship. Maya knew, and had witnessed, her parents not approving of similar relationships so she felt like she was forced to hide the truth about her and Claudine. Claudine was terrified thinking about what Mayas parents might do if they found out, so she insisted they keep it a secret. Then, since they didn't want any risk of the information getting back to her parents, the two agreed to keep it a secret from everyone including all their friends.

"I know," Claudine sighed and squeezed Mayas hand.

"I know, lets do something fun!" She suggested. "We always spend these nights just making out or something and I want to do something different."

"Like what?" Maya questioned.

"I don't know, I didn't think that far ahead. Just look around my room and see if you find anything we can do." Claudine shrugged, watching Maya walk around the room looking for something to entertain them. "Maybe a board game we can play or something."

"What is this stuff?" Maya asked the blonde, peering into a plastic back sitting in the corner of the room.

"Oh just some stuff to make some cookies." Claudine explained. "I thought we could bake some tomorrow with everyone else."

"That sounds like fun." Maya agreed. "I do have a bit of a sugar craving right now though, why don't we sneak into the kitchen and bake?"

"As long as we keep our voices down," Claudine warned. She knew very well that Maya might try and start something, but baking together sounded like fun so she let it slide.

"I'll be good, don't worry" Maya nodded and the two left the safety of Claudines room. They peered into the common room and saw that most of the girls had already fallen asleep and only Nana, Hikari and Futaba were still awake. Futaba looked over and locked eyes with Claudine for a moment before starting up a conversation with Nana and Hikari. The conversation made them turn their heads so they wouldn't be able to see the hallway opening, and the two rivals took the opportunity to sneak over to the kitchen.

Once in the kitchen Maya and Claudine got out the ingredients and started to measure and separate what they needed efficiently. It was clear from the very start that Maya didn't have much experience baking, unlike Claudine.

"You egghead! You're supposed to crack the egg in a separate bowl so you can get any extra shell pieces out!" Claudine scolded, picking a piece of shell out of the batter.

"Hey, I'm not an egghead!" Maya frowned. "At least not in that context of the word" Claudines annoyed scowl turned into a smirk and with one swift movement she smashed an egg on top of Mayas head. Mayas jaw dropped as she stared at Claudine, who had an cocky smirk on her face.

"Now you're an egghead," Claudine chuckled, careful to keep her voice down so the others didn't overhear them. Mayas eyes turned mischievous and she quickly grabbed a handful of flour from the bowl and threw it at her girlfriend. Claudine let out a quiet squeal, not bothering to wipe the white powder off her hair and face.

"That was perfectly measured!" Claudine laughed. Both girls began grabbing the ingredients closest to them and began throwing It at each other like an old-fashioned food fight, careful to keep their laughter and squeals to a low level as to not disturb the others.

"Gotcha!" Maya laughed wrapping her arms around Claudine, trapping her. The top star smiled at her girlfriend, both of them covered in various baking ingredients, laughing as Claudine struggled to get out.

"Let me go!" Her annoyed tone mixed with a giggle.

"Nope! You're my prisoner!" Maya smiled, leaning down and kissing her lips. "I love you. Even if you did call me an egghead"

"Don't make me crack another egg over your head," Claudine threatened. Maya smirked and licked the tip of Claudines nose.

"Hey stop it!" Claudine struggled as Maya kept her tongue stuck out teasingly. "Let me go woman!"

"Only if you say please!"

"Fine, please let me go you vexing woman," Claudine huffed out. Maya flashed a grin and finally let go of her hold on Claudine.

"See that wasn't hard. Now come on, lets clean this up and then go take a shower." Maya suggested. An hour and two small flour fights later, both the kitchen and the two girls were clean. Thankfully by the time they left the bathroom all the others had gone to bed, so they didn't have to sneak back over to Claudines room.

"Is it time for our story ma Baguette?" Maya smiled innocently once inside. Claudine eyes narrowed and her smile disappeared from her face.

"Remember, last time you called me that the night ended with you on the common room couch." Claudine said coolly. "I would hate for a repeat performance of that,"

"Just read to me please," Maya smiled, squeezing Claudines hand. One look at the smile on her loves face was all it took for Claudine to melt and nod her head in defeat. Maya giggled and pecked Claudines cheek before jumping over and looking at the bookshelf as Claudine settled herself into bed. A moment later Maya came over with a book and handed it over to Claudine. "Read this one!" The french girl took the book but her smile dropped suddenly.

"You little sneak! It's my turn to pick the book, go put this back!" Claudine protested.

"Come on, please!" Maya pouted.

"No way! Tonight is my turn to pick and besides we've read this book twice already this month." Claudine whined.

"I'm still gonna read, I just want to read this book tonight." Maya explained. "Please my love," Maya climbed into the bed and stuck out her bottom lip in a pout.

"Don't use the pout on me!" Claudine warned. However, one look at her girlfriend, then down at the book and Claudine huffed in defeat. "You really are such a vexing woman. Why do I put up with you?"

"Because you love me, ma Claudine," Maya giggled, and of course she was right.

Claudine loved moments like this, when Maya was able to truly be herself with any walls surrounding her. Maya grew up on the stage, performing and practicing her craft, much like Claudine herself had. However, unlike Claudines more relaxed and kind parents, Mayas parents constantly put pressure on their only child to be the best there was and uphold the Tendou name, and while that life provided Maya with enormous talent and skill it came at the cost of a normal childhood.

When Maya started dating Claudine, she was finally able to open up about her childhood, or lack-thereof. Claudine was heartbroken when she found out and silently made it her mission to fulfill the girls childish whims whenever possible.

One request Maya had early on was for Claudine to read her a book before bed. She confessed that her mom never read her bedtime stories as a child and she always wanted to know what it was like. Of course, Claudine agreed. She usually liked to read before bed anyway so this wouldn't be too different. It has since become a nightly ritual for them, for a long time it was Maya picking the book and Claudine reading, but after a while they began to alternate who picked and who read. Sometimes the book is short, only a 10 or 15 minute read. Sometimes its longer and could take several nights to finish. No matter what the topic or length is though, having Maya read to her, and reading aloud to Maya, is now Claudines favorite part of the night. Not that she would ever admit it.

"Just get over here before I change my mind," Claudine turned on her bedside lamp and angled the bulb to shine down on the book she had open in her hands. Maya grabbed the book and Claudine curled up into her side. She rested her head on the top stars chest and wrapped her arms around the girls waist as she snuggled up under the blankets. Maya wrapped an arm around her girlfriend and held the book open in front of them.

"Mr. and Mrs. Dursley of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much."

….

"Kuroko? You still up?" Futaba asked quietly, opening the door to her best friends bedroom. She had gotten up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and saw a light coming from the room.

Upon walking in Futaba was greeted by a truly adorable sight.

Maya was in a reclined position, her head resting on a small stack of pillows, one arm was wrapped around Claudine and the other hand was resting on book that was lying open on the bed. Claudine had her head on Mayas chest, with her arms wrapped loosely around her waist.

Futaba snapped a few pictures before turning off the bedside lamp and walking out of the room quietly.
