[ Terry x Brad ]
Terry didn't know exactly when he had gone from thinking of Brad as a viable romantic option.
Maybe it was when they were hiding within the tent, and they heard a noise outside, and Terry noticed Brad moved an arm protectively between him and the door. terry glanced from Brad's arm to the tent flap leading outside as Brad moved in front of him. He felt... Safe.
Maybe it was when they had run into that gang of dudes, and Terry felt a hand gently pull him down by his shoulder to hide him out of sight. Even though Terry's eyes were glued on the gang ahead of them, his thoughts remained on the feeling of Brad's hand on his shoulder, and an electric feeling as though Brad was still looking towards him as he knelt in front of the cover.
Brad's hand let go gently, as if Brad had realized he had been holding onto Terry for longer than he meant to.
Terry tried to mentally make the flush in his face go away as he kept an eye out for the gang, trying to ignore the brief mental image of Brad pushing his shoulder down against a table and holding a hand to Terry's hip. Terry blinked rapidly and shook his head to try and banish the thought.
Brad was a really good friend. Terry didn't want to mess that up with a stupid crush Brad would never reciprocate.
Once when they had went through the underwater city and had nothing to show for it except a bizarre court case, wet clothes, and a bottle of expensive mystery sludge, Terry had been bemoaning the state of his clothing.
"I'm going to smell like fish forever, dude! That's gross!" Terry frowned as he pulled his tank top off to try and wring the excess water out, and stepped closer to the fire to try and dry off his shirt. When Terry looked up over the fire, he seen Brad 's gaze quickly look away from him and to a random spot in the distance. Terry smiled, wondering if he had just caught Brad checking him out. The thought alone made Terry feel like his ego had gained some points, a smile on his face as he continued to try and dry his shirt off.
That night while they all slept close to the campfire, Terry shivered slightly, his gaze fixed up to the stars. He wished it was just a little bit warmer out. It was a little while before Terry heard someone shift, and suddenly something was thrown over him.
"Now go to sleep." Brad spoke, before he rolled over and tried to go back to looked at the brown poncho thrown over himself and hesitated, "Are- you sure dude? Its kinda cold out... You might need it." Terry momentarily enjoyed the warmth from the poncho, but kept his eyes imploringly on Brad.
"I run hot." Brad dismissed Terry's concerns casually, shifting to lie on his back.
Terry smiled a bit, "Yeah, but it still gets cold out later." Terry paused, before he shifted a little closer.
"What are you doing." Brad asked, even though it was obvious by watching him that Terry was scooting closer as he pulled the poncho off.
Terry smiled sheepishly, throwing the poncho so that it was thrown halfway over Brad. He tried to ignore the warmth in his face as he moved to lie back down, facing Brad as he used the other half of the poncho to cover himself, remaining close. "There. Now neither of us will freeze." Terry looked at Brad, who's passive expression did wonders for covering up whatever reaction he had. Brad just looked away from Terry and instead to the stars.
Terry felt a bit stupid for scooting so close, but had to admit, the warmth was really nice. He smiled softly, letting himself close his eyes and drift off to sleep.
