Hi again, wonderful readers! Welcome again to my fourth story! I hope you enjoy it and thanks for choosing this story! Happy reading! Oh and another thing:

Thanks to Rebbeca-In-Blue for giving me feedback on the story! I changed the dialogue, I hope it's easier to read now.

Disclaimer: I've said this all too much, but... I don't own Harry Potter. The great and wonderful J.K. Rowling does.

The Fear That Brought Us Together

It was time for Defence Against the Dark Arts and Lily Evans was all but excited. She stood at the end of the cautious and frightened line leading to the shaking cupboard, behind James Potter, a boy she had loathed until now, their Seventh Year.

The two had made friends with each other and forgotten their past rivalry as they were Head Boy and Girl. Lily had actually begun to like the boy, as he had deflated his arrogant head a bit.

Today in Defence Against the Dark Arts they were studying boggarts. She wondered what her boggart would be. Perhaps Petunia or a Death Eater or You-Know-Who. She thought. After a girl had turned her boggart (a rat) into a stuffed teddy bear, the Professor shouted James' name and he stumbled forwards, brandishing his wand at the cupboard as it burst open - and Lily's own body appeared on the floor with a crack.

James stared at the bloody mangled face of Boggart Lily's lifeless form before pointing his wand at it. "Ri-Ridikulus!", he said, his voice barely a whisper. The boggart sprang back to life again and started to dance a jig. Lily's eyes were wide open. James Potter still liked her? After all these years of rejection? At this thought, James looked at Lily, as if to make sure that she wasn't the boggart lying on the floor.

When Lily looked into his eyes, she saw that there was genuine fear in them. Maybe James Potter's head isn't actually the size of the Quidditch Pitch after all. James gave Lily an encouraging smile as she stepped forwards to conquer her Boggart. She found herself blushing. Lily mentally slapped herself. Why was she doing this?

Because you've fallen in love with him. Her mind said. You've fallen in love with the boy you vowed to hate until the day you died. Lily stared at James. She had never appreciated how nice his inner personality was before.

And that's the end of my fourth story! I hope you liked it and please review! I will be sure to reply and add it in the text! Thanks for reading! ~ ProudToBeAGryffindor

P.S: Yes, I am very, very, VERY sorry that it's so short. AGAIN. For the FOURTH TIME. I can't promise that it'll be longer next time, but I'm hoping that participating in a forum will help me write longer fanfics. Thanks for understanding!
