The Son of the Fourth

Minato, the Fourth Hokage, and his wife Kushina are about to have a child. Suddenly a man intrudes and releases the Kyuubi to attack Konoha. To save the village, his wife, his son, and himself, Minato seals half the Kyuubi in Naruto and half in Kushina. Naruto grows up with his parents and now receives more help when developing as a shinobi.

In the Shinobi World, there are five great villages. Konoha, which is one of them, was having a peaceful night. There is a waxing gibbous or almost full moon tonight which was illuminating the village. It was October 9th, the day before a fateful event.

In a small room, somewhere in the village, four people were present. The ones occupying this space were the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze, his wife, Kushina Uzumaki, the former Third Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi, and his wife as well, Biwako Sarutobi. Minato was a young man, twenty-four years old, he had spiky blonde hair and bright blue eyes. His wife Kushina was a beautiful woman who had bright red hair extending to the middle of her back and darker blue eyes. Hiruzen and Biwako Sarutobi had brown hair with grey streaks within, yet there are no more distinctive features to note. The Hokage is the leading shinobi of Konoha, the four people in this room were discussing a very important matter.

Minato, the Fourth Hokage, began to speak, "We have to prepare for Kushina's childbirth. Since she is a jinchuriki holding a Biju, we have the Kyuubi to worry about."

Hiruzen, the Third Hokage, responded, "Indeed, when Mito-san, the wife of the First Hokage, Hashirama Senju, was giving birth, the seal of the Kyuubi nearly broke. We'll have to take precautions to make sure that doesn't happen with you," Hiruzen finished, turning to the current container of the Kyuubi.

"For tomorrow night, we've taken action for you to be aided with Anbu. I myself will also be there with you, though we will be in a more remote location, far outside the village. It is very important that this must be kept top secret," Biwako supported.

Kushina nodded her head in agreement. "All right," she said, with as determined an expression a pregnant woman could muster, "we'll be prepared to do this for tomorrow."

Fast-forwarding to the next day, the night of Kushina's expectancy approached quickly. There was a full moon this night, dimly lighting the serene setting of Konoha. Kushina was with Biwako, and they were on the route to the decided location of where Kushina would give birth to her child. As they were walking, Kushina passed by her friend, Mikoto Uchiha, who was holding a black-haired infant in her arms.

Kushina guessed excitedly, "Is it a girl?"

"No, a boy," Mikoto replied with a smile. "We've decided on naming him Sasuke."

Biwako intruded, "Ah, the same name as the father of the Third Hokage, huh?"

"Yes, I hope for him to become a very loyal, strong, and fine shinobi in the future for the village," Mikoto assured her happily. "Oh, Kushina aren't you due soon as well?" Mikoto uttered towards Kushina.

In response, Kushina then voiced, "Yeah, I'm gonna name my son Naruto, and since he'll be the same age as Sasuke-Kun, I hope they'll turn out to be good friends," she said, smiling with a hand on her stomach, but then she also asked somewhat fearfully, "Does it really hurt as much as they say?"

Mikoto donned a surprised expression, "Wow, I guess there are some things that even you fear," Mikoto chuckled.

Biwako then pulled Kushina aside and asserted, "Since what we're doing right now is top secret, try not to converse with any more friends on the way, okay? Also when you're having labor pains still try to be as quiet as possible." Kushina nodded her head in agreement.

"GAAAH, it hurts ya know!" exclaimed Kushina as she was in pain from not only giving birth but also from the Biju within her attempting to escape her body. She was panting and sweating profusely during this painful experience.

Minato, who was trying to keep the Kyuubi from escaping, wondered, "Will she really be okay from all of this, seeing her cry out in pain like this is surprising and scary…"

"Be quiet! Just focus on keeping the demon fox from escaping. A man would die from something like this, but we women are strong!" Biwako had exclaimed towards Minato.

He then tried to reassure his wife enthusiastically, "Hang in there Kushina! Hang in there Naruto!"

Viewing the scene outside the cave in which Naruto was being born, something else was happening. The skilled ANBU shinobi, which had been assigned to act as guards here, were all taken out. A mysterious man, wearing a hooded cloak and a mask with only one eye-opening, was held one by the throat and then dropped him leaving all of them in the water. Standing on the water, a simple shinobi skill, the mysterious masked man proceeded to walk towards a wall of stone in which he phased through with no effort.

Biwako exclaimed, "That's it! Just a little more, I can see the head!" Kushina continued to scream as this was said.

An aide named Taji who was also helping also exclaimed, "We're almost there, you can do it Kushina-san!"

Minato yelled, "Narutoooo come out! Kyuubi stay in!"

A few seconds later, a baby's cries could be heard. Naruto was born as Kushina had successfully given birth to him. The infant had blonde hair like his father and streaks on his cheeks, resembling whiskers on a feline.

As tears rolled down his face, Minato cried happily, "Haha, I'm a father!"

Along with her husband, Kushina too was crying, and cheerfully she said, "Naruto, I finally get to meet you." She said this while the child was lying down next to her face in a small blanket.

Still wiping the tear from his face Minato interrupted, "All right Kushina, I know that you're worn out from having just given birth but you'll have to exert full force on keeping the Kyuubi inside of you." Kushina agreed by nodding her head.

Then suddenly a scream was heard, "Gaahh!"

This shocked Minato as he looked over and saw Biwako and Taji lying down on the floor.

He then yelled their names, "Biwako, Taji!" Only to see someone holding his newborn child with a kunai to the infant's neck. It was the same mysterious, one-eyed masked man who had taken out the ANBU outside and walked in right through the wall.

While this man was holding the newborn, he then threatened Minato, "Fourth Hokage Minato Namikaze, step away from the host or this child will not live a minute longer." The baby Naruto cried out as he had been taken away.

After having seen this happen, Minato then wondered in his mind while sweating, "How did he slip through the barrier? Who on earth is this guy?"

Kushina then grunted. Due to this Minato turned around to her only to see the chakra of the Kyuubi slowly rising from the seal on her stomach. He thought to himself, "Ah, the Biju!" He yelled out Kuhsina's name and took a step toward her.

Just as he did that, the mysterious man once again threatened the Fourth Hokage, "I said, 'Step away from the host' or do you not care what happens to your little brat!" Blood leaked out from Biwako and Taji as they were lying dead on the floor

In an attempt to save his son, Minato screamed out to the masked man, "Wait, calm down!"

The masked man retorted, "I myself am perfectly calm, you're the one who needs to keep calm Minato." He said this as he threw Naruto up in the air, aimed his kunai towards the baby, and aggressively moved it in the direction Minato's son.

"Naruto!" His mother yelled out as she viewed her newborn son about to be murdered.

Minato Namikaze had not been named Hokage for no reason. At the time he was the greatest shinobi in Konoha, maybe even in the entire world. His epithet was "The Yellow Flash". Minato quickly moved through the air using the teleportation jutsu, it allows for one to quickly move from place to place by channeling their chakra to the user's feet and then jumping in the direction of their choosing. Minato retrieved his son Naruto and held the baby in his arms. He then stuck to the wall, landing on his feet. But then he realized that the masked man had attached exploding paper bombs, which were about to go off, onto the blanket wrapping up the child. In response to the masked man's sly move, he used the Flying Raijin to teleport away. The Flying Raijin allows for one to instantly transport anything to any location marked, of the user's choosing. Minato disappeared from where Kushina and the masked man were.

By teleporting away, he saved his wife Kushina and saved his son by throwing off the paper bomb infested blanket out in the location that he teleported to. "Thank Goodness! Naruto's unharmed" The newly made father said this relieved while holding the naked baby in his arms. Minato then teleported to another marked location. Here, he placed Naruto in bed and tried to relieve the crying baby by saying, "Just wait here a little bit, I have to go save your mom right now."

The mysterious masked man was now in possession of the Kyuubi Jinchuuriki Kushina Uzumaki. He had switched locations like Minato. The masked man used a sealing jutsu to keep the woman from moving and resisting. She was kept standing on a small rock in water in the center of four other rock pillars in said water.

Kushina confidently asked him, "What do you want?"

He responded, "To take the Kyuubi from you and destroy Konoha"

"What!?"

"The seal has weakened after you've given birth, do you know how long I've waited for this brief moment?"

The masked man then used his Sharingan to enter the subconscious of Kushina and where the Kyuubi was sealed, he viewed the demon fox. Very much resembling a fox it had nine tails, red, slitted eyes, and orange fur. Each of its nine tails, as well as the fox itself, were pinned and chained up to a sphere of chakra, this represented the seal. The Masked man then stared directly into the demon fox's eyes using his Sharingan as it was aggressively staring back at him. The Sharingan dojutsu is the kekkei genkai or bloodline limit of the Uchiha Clan.

The masked man used his Sharingan eye to attempt at taking control of the Biju and he was successful. The monster growled. Outside of the subconscious, a red, bubbly chakra cloak was encompassing Kushina. The beast finally arose from the seal and came out. It was extremely large, standing and growled out. Kushina was left lying on the rock she was sealed on, panting, barely being able to maintain consciousness.

The man, after having completed this part of his plan, said, "All right, now to head for Konohagakure." He then realized Kushina had not been killed. Jinchuriki die when their Bijus are extracted from them, yet the strong woman Kushina from the Uzumaki clan was still breathing. He once again spoke, "The Uzumaki Clan is really amazing, you're still alive after having the Kyuubi ripped out of you, eh? You were the Kyuubi's host and now I will use him to kill you."

In control of the Biju present, the masked man directed a claw attack towards Kushina to kill her. The beast's attack created an explosion present in the forest they were in.

Minato, once again, used his speed to save another family member from this mysterious masked man. He asked his wife, "Are you okay?"

"Minato," Kushina said while crying and panting from exhaustion, "I-is Naruto all right?"

Ensuring the safety of his son to his wife, Minato said, "Yes, he's fine in a safe place."

"That's good to know."

Minato then used the Flying Raijin and teleported Kushina to the same place he left his son Naruto. Minato then placed his wife in bed next to their son as she held onto him tightly. He then clenched his fist, angry at the situation happening right now.

Knowing what he had to do as the Fourth Hokage of Konoha and as a father, Minato then grabbed his cloak which read "Fourth Hokage" on the back and had red flames toward the bottom. He told his wife, "I'll be back." and then teleported away.

The masked man. who robbed the Kyuubi from Kushina, was now present in the center of Konoha. He then slammed his hand on the ground and yelled, "Summoning Jutsu!" The Nine-tailed beast appeared and began to rampage.

Many of the citizens in Konoha were shocked in fear, "Tha-that's the Kyuubi!" They all tried to run in the opposite direction of the Biju, trying to escape with their lives.

ANBU used the teleportation jutsu to appear before Hiruzen, "Lord Third-Sama! The Kyuubi! The Kyuubi suddenly appeared in the village!"

Hiruzen had already put on his gear, preparing to fight the beast and protect the citizens of Konoha from this calamity. He responded to the ANBU member, "I know, we'll have to take care of it! Gather all of the Jonin adults so we can fight together and protect those who cannot defend themselves!" The Third Hokage then thought to himself, "Did Kushina's seal break? Did all of our precautions prove to be ineffective?"

"Yes!" The ANBU member responded to Hiruzen with.

In Konoha, each of the Hokage had stone carvings of their face on the stone plateau overshadowing the village. Minato used the Flying Raijin to teleport from the place he left his wife and son, to the top of his own stone carving. He looked at the Kyuubi as it was causing a rampage. The beast turned around to face Minato.

Minato reacted, "So you've noticed me, huh?"

The Kyuubi began to gather chakra in his mouth, it appeared red and blue but then gathered into a large dense, purple sphere. This was a tailed beast bomb which he launched at Minato in an effort to kill him.

Minato yelled, "I won't let you destroy this place!"

The Fourth Hokage held up one of his marked three-bladed kunai and used the Flying Raijin to create a space-time barrier. His jutsu consumed the dense ball of chakra, teleporting it to the faraway ocean, yet the gigantic blast's shockwaves could still be felt in the village.

Minato thought to himself, "I've got to let the Third know what's going on."

Just as Minato thought this the masked man suddenly appeared behind the Fourth. In response, Minato grabbed his kunai and tried to slash the man but his attack phased right through the mysterious man. He then grabbed Minato's arm and attempted to use a space-time ninjutsu. The Jutsu came from his one Sharingan and began to distort the space creating a swirl pattern sucking Minato to the center of where his eye hole was. Minato was able to escape using the Flying Raijin and transported himself away.

Minato teleported to a forest, where he lied on the ground with a surprised face thinking, "This guy, he dodged my attack by phasing through and then solidified to grab me! Just who is he?"

The mysterious man followed Minato with his own space-time ninjutsu.

Minato couldn't believe what he was seeing. He asked himself many questions in an attempt to find out this man's identity. "Can he use space-time ninjutsu, too? How was able to get past the ANBU and proceed past the top-secret barrier? How did he know that the seal would be weakened during childbirth? How did he know where Kushina was planning to give birth? Not only that but could get through Konoha's intruder detection system without being noticed, there's only one person I can think of who would be capable of doing all of this." Minato thought all of this to himself. He then asked the anonymous figure out loud, "Are you Madara Uchiha?"

The masked man took down his hood and let down chains from his sleeves. "Who knows," he said in an attempt to confuse Minato.

Minato continued to ponder in his mind, "I'll have to stop this guy here or the village is at risk of being attacked by something even greater than the Kyuubi! Hopefully Lord Third can take care of the Kyuubi in the village while I'm fighting this guy."

Minato and the masked man began to charge toward each other. Chains were being dragged behind the masked man. Minato tried to use his kunai to slash his opponent but the attack phased right through him as well as Minato himself. Minato ran directly into the chains that were being dragged behind the masked man. He then pulled his arms in a manner that tied Minato in the chains, trapping the Fourth Hokage, the masked man proceeded to gather chakra in his right eye to use the same swirly patterned ninjutsu to suck his opponent in. Minato retaliated by using Flying Raijin to escape to another marked kunai in the ground a few meters from his previous location.

Minato put his two hands together, making a crossed Jutsu hand seal and yelled, "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!" Four identical clones, two on each side of him, appeared next to Minato. They all gripped a kunai, surged it with lightning style chakra, and then used the teleportation jutsu to charge at the masked man. They all came from four different directions and tried to slash the masked man simultaneously. Yet, he still continued to phase through Minato's attacks and none of the clones could find an opening. The masked man placed a paper bomb tag on the back of each clone and when they exploded, each shadow clone Minato dissipated, poofing into a cloud of smoke. Minato grunted as he was confused about how to beat his opponent.

In his final attempt to defeat this masked man, Minato charged once again, but this time with a Rasengan in his right hand and a kunai in his left. The Rasengan was a blue, dense sphere of chakra, similar to the tailed beast bomb Minato had directed away from before. As the two men were charging toward each other, the masked man brought his right hand closer to Minato's left shoulder in an effort to grab it and use his space-time ninjutsu on the Fourth Hokage once again. Minato threw the kunai from his left hand at the masked man, yet it still phased right through him. The masked man's hand was less than a millimeter away from Minato's shoulder and he whispered, "I've won."

At that very moment, Minato then suddenly teleported to the kunai he threw earlier. The masked man tried to grip Minato's shoulder but only got the air. The marked kunai Minato teleported to was above the masked man and Minato brought the Rasengan down into his back and left a Flying Raijin seal on his body. The Rasengan created an explosion and broke apart the ground. The masked man then quickly got up and jumped back away, he was left kneeling in pain but then Minato used the Flying Raijin seal placed on his back to teleport to him and placed a contract seal on the masked man. The contract seal disbanded the control that he had over the Kyuubi.

Cutting over to the location of the Biju, things were looking better than before. The Kyuubi's eyes, which had appeared as three tomoe Sharingan from the masked man's control, disappeared and reverted back to slit feline looking pupils. Though, regardless of being free from control, the Kyuubi continued to wreak havoc and destroy the village. Suddenly, Hiruzen and the other adult jonin were fighting off the Biju and finally managed to push it outside of Konoha's village Borders. The Kyuubi began to, once again, form a purple dense chakra sphere in front of his mouth. Though he was stopped. Minato suddenly appeared over him, standing on a giant red toad. It was wearing a blue robe and was holding a pipe in its mouth.

Minato thought to himself of what to do at this moment, "Kushina, I'm sorry but this is what'll have to be done." Minato yelled out to Gamabunta, the giant toad he was standing on, "Hold back the Kyuubi for a few seconds! I need a little time to send the Kyuubi away!" A few seconds later, Minato used Flying Raijin to teleport himself as well as the Kyuubi away.

Hiruzen quietly asked himself, "Minato, where did he send the Kyuubi?" All of the sudden, a large explosion was seen in the distance by Hiruzen and the other shinobi present.

Minato had transported himself to where he left his wife Kushina and his son Naruto. To save his family from the blast of the tailed beast bomb, Minato used Flying Raijin to teleport several dozen meters away.

Kushina responded to Minato's sudden appearance by saying, "I can still fight Minato." While panting, Kushina used a Jutsu where she released 5 golden, glowing chains of chakra from her back. In the forest, she tied up the Kyuubi with chains and restricted its movement. Also with the chains, Kushina created a barrier around the space she, Minato, the Kyuubi, and Naruto were occupying.

Kushina suggested toward Minato, "I'll seal away the Kyuubi within me to save you and Naruto. It's a shame I can't get to see Naruto grow up, ya know." She stroked her son's face softly and began to cry.

Tears began to roll down Minato's face as well until he wiped them away. Denying Kushina's request he said, "No. I have a better idea. Since it's too much for me to seal the Kyuubi all at once, I'll seal half inside of you and the other half in Naruto. That should be able to save you and keep all of our lives. I can't let you die here and let Naruto grow up without his own mother."

Kushina yelled out rejecting, "You can't! It's better if I do the sealing. Plus, since Naruto is just a baby he may not be able to handle becoming a jinchuriki and restricting even half of the Kyuubi inside of him. Why would you do that instead!?"

"To preserve the balance of the villages," Minato responded. "I have to do this instead, I have the responsibility of being a father and the Fourth Hokage of Konoha." Minato quickly disappeared, then reappeared with eight lit candles and a bed for Naruto to lay on.

The Kyuubi was not just a mindless and aggressive beast. After seeing Minato bring the candles, he thought to himself, "They're going to seal me inside of the child!?"

Minato picked Kushina and laid her down on her side so she could face her son. He also laid his son on the small bed which was in their center of eight candles from earlier. Minato then made the ram hand seal, two large blue arms of chakra appeared from out of his back. They both extended toward the Kyuubi and began to pull its chakra, compressed it, and split it in half. The Kyuubi's physical form disappeared. There was an equal amount of the Kyuubi's red-colored chakra in both of the chakra arms. The blue chakra arms then began to overlap Minato's actual arms. Minato placed hands on the stomach of both his wife and son. Minato began to make four hand seals: Hare → Dog → Ram → Dragon. After performing that action, he yelled out, "Eight Trigrams Seal!"

"Ugh," grunted Kushina, as the yin half of the Kyuubi had just been sealed inside her.

"Waaah," cried Naruto as the other yang half was sealed in him.

The chains and arms of chakra sprouting from Kushina's and Minato's backs dissolved, the barrier created earlier was also gone. Both of them had fainted from exhaustion as the only one still conscious was the crying baby Naruto. Hiruzen came soon after with two ANBU. They checked to see if Minato and Kushina were still breathing and let out a sigh of relief after finding out they were okay. Each of them carefully picked someone up and used the teleportation Jutsu to head back to Konoha.
