Ahsoka had let out another sight as she walked through the Temple. Not long after they landed from their mission on Felucia the Council announced that they wanted to speak to her already. She felt as if her stomach had turned upside down, but it was more so regarding her master than the Council. She would never forget the look he had given her when her station had gotten destroyed. Expressionless, yet with disappointment. That would have been her fate and the one of her troops if she had kept going. She had been wrong, and she hated it.
Anakin had been waiting for her outside of the Council's chambers. His expression was softer, but he didn't say anything. She simply nodded, and they had walked in together. Now they were both in front of the Council.
"Padawan Ahsoka, do you feel Master Kenobi's description of the incident is accurate?" Said Mace Windu.
"Yes, my Masters."
More to add, do you? Asked Yoda.
"I know I was wrong. I just got so caught up in my own success, I didn't look at the battle as a whole. I wasn't being disobedient. I just… forgot."
"Masters, this incident is my responsibility. Because of Ahsoka's advanced abilities, I forgot how young she is. I gave her more freedom than I should have." Anakin said, giving Ahsoka another look. She couldn't help but look down.
"That may be, but it doesn't excuse what happened on Felucia. I think she needs some time away from the battlefield."
Ahsoka felt her heart drop.
"On archive security, reflect on your actions, you can, Padawan."
"Guard duty?" She exclaimed, immediately watching her tone, "For how long?"
"Longer now." Windu said.
"I'm sorry I let you down." Ahsoka said, breaking off the silence. Anakin hadn't said a word since they had walked out of the Council, and they were almost at the archives, but she couldn't go without apologising.
"I know. I was a Padawan not that long ago." He responded. He knew she was sorry, and understood her situation.
They approached the archive reception, where an elderly lady stood. She turned to them as Anakin spoke.
"Madame Jocasta Nu, this is Ahsoka Tano," he introduced her, "She is to be your new security officer."
Ahsoka gave her a smile, "Hello, Madame."
"So good to meet you."
And at that, Anakin turned around and walked away. Ahsoka felt a little sting that he didn't say goodbye, she didn't know when she was to be relieved of her security duty.
"Let's show you around."
