I have been a Star Wars fan since I was just twelve years old, beginning when "Revenge of the Sith" came out, and then everything else followed. Though to be honest, I have not read much of the Legends universe, only doing online research, and it's been ages since I was committed entirely.

I joined FF five years ago, wrote for Naruto, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Batman and a few others, but now I give my first Star Wars. :D It's a short and sweet oneshot that concentrates on Jaina Solo and Jagged Fel. I always wanted to do Jaina and her wedding. I also watched all three of the sequel trilogy, but while I am aware people either love or hate them, I can bounce between that and the Legends universe if I want to. (wink)

Here we have the pair marrying, according to what I read on Star Wars wiki and a couple other places, but this is mostly sweetness and sadness, with hopes for a better future. It has elements of canon events, but not entirely the same; please enjoy all the same. We all need escapism in these scary times. :D

Disclaimer: Star Wars belongs to George Lucas. Fic is titled after one of my favorite bridal shows of the same name.

This is a precious heirloom.

It survived two generations, going place to place and winding up in its rightful owner's hands by chance and based on rumors. In a merchant's marketplace of all places in the Mid-Rim territories.

The garment was simple and exquisite: intricate lace sewn with pearls, complete with a unique veil that was considered old-fashioned by some. Long and flowing to touch the floor, the ivory lace in scrolls, and the sheer sleeves reaching the elbows, while the end of the skirt resembled a scalloped seashell like the ones she and her brothers used to pick up when they were innocent and carefree. The veil and attached headpiece were made of the same lace and studded, too, with pearls; the veil would touch the middle of the back.

Jaina Solo never even knew her grandmother, just from what history depicted about her, and therefore was proud of her. She had a piece of her on the day that would come after the fighting was over. Just what we have been doing all our lives: fighting and with very few moments of peace, along with drama taking its toll.

She was certain the same thing happened with her grandparents.

The Jedi of the Old Order were not allowed to love, to form attachments, but love was what made everyone human. Forced detachment from the basic human emotions led to the mindset akin of a killer, with no remorse for those who were hurt in the pursuit of their goals - and that sounded very much like what transpired with Anakin Skywalker. He'd been wronged in more ways than one, some could say that he had no one to blame but himself for his crimes, except Uncle Luke believed in him in the final moments.

She wished the same could have happened sooner with her own twin brother. Now was just herself as well as cousin Ben and her young niece.

Her parents would be there on that day, along with her uncle, sister-in-law and Allana, and her friends. Something intimate and close-knit, no matter that she was soon to be a respected Jedi Master. She refused to have public attention for the whole galaxy to see.

Mom wore this, but she didn't want the veil, yet kept it because of the sentimental value.

Leia had only a minor update with this, but now Jaina would have something more drastic while keeping the tradition.

~o~

She didn't think it would be on time, but remarkably, it was.

The seamstress worked her magic, and here was something simple but charming. The shimmering silk hugged Jaina's chest and hips, flowing behind like a white trumpet flower. The lace and pearl accents from Padmé Amidala's wedding garment were placed at the train's hem as well as from the waist up, all the way up to the straps.

When her mother wore the original version, her dark chocolate locks had been crowned with a halo of golden leaves attached to the matching clip in the back...but now the piece was updated to attach and detach to the veil which no longer had the headpiece, leaving her head uncovered.

In a way, she was the next Empress - eventually, he'd end up being the next Emperor, though not yet confirmed - but Jag would never make her give up her life to sit on a throne with him as a trophy. The irony: a new Empire that was interested in true stability and with little to no brutality unlike the old Empire.

A long, tumultuous journey we had, culminating in sought-after peace.

Sometimes, she felt older than her years, maybe much older than her parents and uncle who fought longer and harder than she and her brothers had. Thinking of Jacen and Anakin made her wish they were here, that her twin had not...

All that was left of Jacen - Darth Caedus to the galaxy - was Allana, under the alias of "Amelia" and in the custody of her grandparents on her mother's wishes. And here she was, happy for a change because her aunt was marrying the man she loved, in a longtime whirlwind but passionate relationship. She was safer with her father's family than her mother's side on Hapes, Tenel Ka preferring that she'd rather not be caught in the political turmoil.

Speaking of Allana's mother, the Queen Mother of Hapes, she allowed the couple to marry aboard her flagship which had been used during the evacuation of Ossus. With family and friends, with the exception of a few.

Aunt Mara.

Jacen and Anakin.

Chewie.

It would be half-wrong to wish Grandfather and Grandmother were here, since it was hard to miss people you never knew, though it was enough to know that they were here spiritually and a part of this moment.

Her father was just...erm, being a father, in that he could hardly believe it that his only daughter - and last-living child - was finally leaving the nest this way. Too bad that he only tolerated Jag for her sake, but that was called being a father. And if he and his wife were still here, they would have another grandchild to look forward to.

Her mother was wiping the corners of her eyes as she, too, found it hard to believe what she was seeing: just like she'd been, but also different, when she married the man she still loved to this day. Their family survived more suffering and hardship perhaps more than any other in the galaxy.

Uncle Luke was doing the honors of marrying his niece and her husband-to-be.

Lando Calrissian was there to witness, along with his wife Tendra and their son, Lando, Jr. Also present was Kyp Durron - former Master who betrayed me at one point and what we could have had, and to think Dad preferred him over Jag then - with intentions of showing her how happy he was for her.

That just left Tahiri, who would have had something with Jaina's late younger brother, temporarily falling to the dark side of the Force before coming back to the right path and under Jag's protective wing, but now was a Jedi again. Poor girl lived with as many struggles as them, but family - blood and non-blood alike - always came back together.

With cousin Ben completing the ring, all of them were here and willing all for her.

Now Jaina was brought to the one person with whom she waited to see, and whose eyes darkened and drank in the sight of his queen in all but name. Her heart skipped so many beats, faster than hyperspace travel.

"I never thought we'd finally be alone," he rasped against her breast as he kissed and nipped at it. She moaned loudly through parted lips, itching to close her eyes and drift off with what he was doing to her, but wanted to see what he was doing. That hand which went to his hair caused her to see what he gave her when her uncle blessed them at the end of the ceremony.

A glimmering rainbow gem from Hapes lay neatly on her finger, placed in branch-like liquid gold that was sprinkled randomly with white crystals - made from the natural formations found on Chandrila. To think something so valuable from Tenel Ka's homeworld - which she used for her lightsaber and in her own tiara - would make its way on Jaina's finger for perhaps the rest of her life!

This man whom she knew was her equal from the moment they met, and to whom she confessed her feelings after saving his life against orders during the Yuuzhan Vong conflict. Whom she didn't want to go away after losing so many people she cared about...and they shared their first kiss. The Force was palpable with the sparks that flew from then on.

He was her emotional support amid the shadowy and opened bloodshed. She had her family, but he was also there.

They were torn by duty, separated only to keep coming back together. Everything took a toll on them both, but they were like a magnet. And now she had him hopefully for good.

If anyone who didn't know were to ask if he was her first love, it would be a lie. There was Zekk, her friend from childhood, but eventually he was with Taryn, so there was no more romantic tension even after Jaina defeated her fallen twin.

There was also Kyp, who took her under his wing after her brush with the dark side, though it wasn't Master and apprentice or even the average boyfriend and girlfriend; it was simply what it was - until his deception when she destroyed the Yuuzhan Vong ship. And to think her dad wanted her with that man rather than the one she had now. But at least she and Kyp returned to being just friends enough for him to attend her wedding day in the present.

All of that is the past - this is NOW.

His tongue swirled over her nipple, making her jolt, suckling like a newborn against its mother's breast. Often times before today, when they stole time together as though it could be the last time, it was intense and sometimes rough - without bloodletting and bruising, of course - but now they started off gently just like when she'd been a young virgin and not used to this. Then he left the bud and slithered downward to the concave between breast and ribcage where she was just as sensitive.

Somehow, it was just like getting ready to ride a speeder. Starting with the switches and buttons to turn on, revving the engine, and then going just like that.

"Ungh, Jag...!" Sometimes speech would fail, but who the hell talked during intimacy? And not only that, but they had one night on this luxury line from SoroSuub - destination being Sakuub, a tourist world with so many undiscovered wonders - and were doing it like this.

The intoxicating flowers from Hapes - white lilies, flesh-colored roses and intoxicating shades of blue - were sitting in the middle of the table before the bunk they shared just when the tension had built up enough and they joined to form what blossomed sweetly and powerfully as those flowers. Jaina latched for dear life onto Jag's rough shoulders at the consummation of their marriage. Took her to reaches farther than any in the galaxy, just as his manhood searched out that special place within her womanly regions. The spark flew and burst into a fire when he found it, hitting it over and over again until they reached the peak and jumped off that cliff for the adrenaline rush of ecstasy.

It all began when they were young and reckless, fighting off something that was too precious to ignore and should always be taken advantage of. Wild, unpredictable, controlled only when forced...it was true love at its finest. Bearing countless obstacles but never ending.

Jaina later lay on her back with his head resting against her chest, left breast serving as a pillow, and she combed through his hair while he slept and traced that silvery scar which made him all the more handsome. He was sleeping, and she never got tired of taking in his features.

She looked forward to the fun time ahead of them, to enjoy their long-awaited union - but first came what she had to find out, though didn't have it in herself to tell Jag in the beginning, insisting a hiking trip on the remote paradise called Sakuub. It was something that she'd been investigating for some time now, and had to know once and for all before any pleasure-seeking could take place.

It's either ancient ruins which date back to the Jedi of the Old Order...or there's something more on Abeloth we never knew about. I have to know so that my conscience is cleared and no worries. For all I know, it could be useful and interesting.

The next day, they were finally arriving at the Sakuub system, both ready to go. Jaina leaned into her new husband, smiling and content as he spoke of the hiking and sightseeing they would be doing, though he also knew there was something else she wasn't telling him, which couldn't be further from the truth. Honesty was extremely important.

Jag might not be happy with her intentions, but he would get over it, and afterwards, they would be off to Hapes for the rest of their new marital bliss.

Took maybe three days to do, including the research in the process, and given that certain flowers didn't exist, I found existing flora that could come from Hapes, in courtesy of Tenel Ka, given Jaina and Jag did get married aboard her flagship. :3

Like I said, my first Star Wars shot, so please be easy on me. I appreciate lovely reviews, as well as helpful advice in terms of SW Legends canon (regardless of the sequel trilogy we now have, we can choose which side whenever we want to, since it seems logical, happier and healthier than condemning one). However, I do NOT appreciate nasty flames.

If anyone is wondering, there might not be a sequel, due to my current workload and life as it is.
