Hi everyone!
So, I've always been a fan of Melissa Joan Hart and the Lawrence brothers since the 90s. So one day while scrolling through the Hulu, I spotted Melissa and Joey and I'm a sucker for romantic comedies. So I have no idea if anyone even watches this old show anymore or if anyone will even read this, but I'll try!
I decided that I would try to expand on some of their sexual tension before they got together and then maybe to some more sexy stuff after they get together. If you haven't already noticed, this will be rated M. So if you're not into reading smut, this probably isn't for you. This particular chapter isn't too terribly graphic, but the others might be. Everything in bold is lines I borrowed directly from the show. I'm going to try and find moments in certain episodes that I can write from, but I may change a few things around.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy! Review when you get to the end? :)
Chapter 1
Season 1, Episode 4
Dylan McEnglad
"I'm not judging you, he's just not what I pictured as Mel Burke boyfriend material, that's all."
"Oh, you spend a lot of time picturing that, do you?"
"No, no. It's just that when I do, I imagine somebody that's specifically just a little more, uh…well, not him."
"He's not your business, Joe. I don't need you all up in my personal life."
"Alright, fine."
Melanie turned away from him, walked up the stairs and headed straight for her bedroom. She rolled her eyes at her new nanny's annoying way of getting under her skin. He'd done it several times in the short time he'd been in her life.
She walked into her closet and removed her heels, and then over to her dresser to remove her earrings and other jewelry. She took in a deep breath and smiled at the picture of Lennox and Ryder on the wall next her dresser.
She had to begrudgingly admit, he was really good with her niece and nephew. And damn it, the man could cook!
And those arms…
She rolled her eyes for her mind going there again. Her mind should be on McEngland and that awesome kiss he'd just given her outside, but it was all on what Joe and what he had said to her. How dare he suggest that she deserved better? How does he know what's good for her and what's not?
She let out an audible groan and opened her top dresser drawer, pulling out a night gown. She removed the rest of her clothes and put it on, enjoying the cool silk against her skin. Heading into the bathroom, she pulled back her hair and removed her makeup, brushed her teeth and climbed into bed.
She took in a deep breath and closed her eyes, trying to get her mind off of Joe and onto her date for tomorrow night that she was excited about.
"He's just not what I pictured as Mel Burke boyfriend material, that's all."
"Well, what kind of man do you picture me with?"
He furrowed his brows together and looked away from her, "I don't know Mel, somebody with his head on his shoulders, you know?
"Dylan is an artist! He just does the bartender thing temporarily." She took a sip of her wine and then a deep breath. Why was she explaining anything to him?
He shrugged his shoulders again, "I don't get the right vibe from him. I don't see that relationship going anywhere."
"And you really think this one will?" Her eyes grew wide as the words left her mouth before her mind caught up to them. What was that? What did that mean? Where did that come from? She tried desperately to think of something to say, but her mind was empty.
She knew by the look on his face that he was just as shocked she said that as she was.
He furrowed his eyebrows together, "What?"
"Nothing."
He heard her. At first he wasn't sure if he heard her correctly, but he played it over in his head and yes, she had said it. He took a step towards her, shoving his hands in his pockets, "we're not in a relationship."
She rolled her eyes, "well, duh Joe. I didn't mean it like that." She turned and sat her wine glass on the counter, crossed her arms and looked away from him.
Another step towards her, "What did you mean?"
She finally looked up again to see that he was standing right in front of her now, and she could smell the intoxicating scent of his cologne. "I just meant that..." she stopped again and he could see that she couldn't come up with anything to say.
He moved his torso a little closer to hers, but she didn't move backwards. He took it as a sign that if he did try anything sexy she wouldn't back away, "I think that we should..." he stopped.
"Should what?" She asked softly, then bit her bottom lip to try and stop any impulsive words from leaving her mouth.
She didn't know, but he wanted to bite that bottom lip so bad he could almost taste it. He looked at her pink lips, then into her crystal blue eyes, "See what happens."
"Happens with what?" She whispered, not moving away from him. He lifted his hands to place on her crossed arms.
He decided to go with honesty. "What would happen if I kissed you right now?"
She looked down as his hands uncrossed her folded arms and his fingers intertwined with hers. She licked her lips nervously, "do you want to kiss me?" Her voice was so soft and low that she could barely hear herself speak.
He only nodded and moved just a little closer to her, gently placing his lips on hers. It only lasted a second, both of them testing the water. Her grip tightened around his fingers and she moved to his face and pressed a soft kiss against his lips. He let go of her left hand and cupped her cheek, kissing her again. This time she felt his mouth open, so she opened hers too, begging him to deepen the kiss. He moaned and did just that, moving his hands from her face down to her waist. Her hands gripped his shoulders, and oh God yes, this is what she wanted.
He moved his feet so that his body could press fully into hers. His hands moved again up to her long blonde hair, holding her head in place as he continued to kiss her.
She wanted to touch more of him, so she ran her hands down his torso and pulled his shirt up so she could feel his perfect body.
She moaned when her finger tips finally ran over his abs and felt tingles all the way down her body. He gripped her waist and eventually pulled his head back from hers, biting her bottom lip as he did so. It ended way too soon for her liking.
They stood in silence for a few seconds, breathing hard. His eyes met hers.
It'd been years since she'd been kissed like that. No, come to think of it, she didn't think she had ever been kissed like that. So...perfect.
Her whole body ached for more. She wanted to kiss him again. She wanted to kiss all of him.
"What was that?" She finally whispered to him.
He licked his lips and placed the softest kiss on hers, "That was the beginning."
She looked at him, her blue eyes sparkling, "the beginning of what?"
He lifted one corner of his mouth, "us." She let out a gasp and smiled back at him, leaning up and pressing her mouth against his. He pulled back, not letting her taste him like she wanted to.
"Mel, you gotta wake up."
"What?" She asked breathlessly, looking at his mouth. She wanted it back on hers.
"Wake up."
"Aunt Mel, get up! Your alarm has been going off non stop for 20 minutes!" Ryder yelled through the door, banging on the wood.
"What?" Melanie sat up quickly in the bed, turning and slamming her hand on the blaring alarm clock.
She tried to catch her breath, looking around and grabbing her comforter, pulling it up to her chest, "I can't believe that just happened," she whispered to herself. Then her attention went back to her bedroom door.
"Aunt Mel, are you okay?" Ryder called, knocking on the door more gently now.
"Yeah!" She said back to her nephew, "Yeah, honey, I'm fine. Just overslept. I'll be down in a second."
"Okay." She listened as he walked away from her door and then put her head in her hands. What in the hell was that about? Why was she dreaming about Joe kissing her like that? She didn't even like Joe!
Or….apparently she did.
Okay, so, she liked the way he was with the kids and she liked the way he cooks and cleans, and he wasn't half bad to look at.
"Get a grip Mel," she told herself.
She took a deep breath at the top of the stairs, preparing to walk down them. She could hear voices at the table, "It was just a dream, Mel. You don't even like him like that. Get over it," she whispered to herself. She nodded and walked downstairs.
"Good morning," she said, causing everybody to look at her.
Joe pressed the lid onto the coffee cup, "Morning Mel, coffee to go? You are really late this morning."
She pressed her lips together and nodded, taking the metal cup from his hands, and trying not to look at his arms and torso through his tight shirt. "Yeah, thank you. Overslept."
Joe nodded, "that's not like you, though. You okay?"
She smiled, "yeah, yeah, I'm great. Just, um, you know. Needed my beauty rest for my date tonight."
"What date?" Lennox asked from the table.
Mel turned and walked over to them, "With Dylan McHottie."
Joe rolled his eyes and walked over to the stove.
"Oooh, what you gonna do?" Lennox asked, standing from the table and rubbing her hands together.
Mel shrugged a shoulder, "just dinner. And you know. We'll see what else."
Lennox smiled and raised her eyebrows, "So since you're dating your bad boy can I can go to that party and see my bad boy tonight?"
"No." Mel and Joe said together.
"Ugh so unfair!"
"So is life sweetie." Melanie replied, taking that first sip of coffee that Joe seemed to make perfect every day.
"School!" Joe said, walking over to Mel and handing her a to go container of pancakes, fruit and syrup, "Here, eat this when you get to the office."
She looked down and smiled, "wow, thanks Joe!"
"Yep, breakfast is the most important meal of the day."
"Parties are important too!" Lennox interjected.
"Go get in the car," Joe said, pointing at the door. Lennox rolled her eyes and joined Ryder as they all left the kitchen, heading out the front door.
"Hey, I think we're handling this Lennox thing pretty well, don't you think?"
Joe shrugged a shoulder, "sure."
"Whoa, what do you mean "sure"? There's a "but" coming isn't there? I can see a "but" in your face."
"You really want to know?" He put on his jacket.
"Yeah I do!"
"I don't think you do," He walked past her and to the door, "But I'm going to tell you anyway. Let's just forget the fact that you just came down hard on your niece for dating a bad boy which is exactly the same thing you're doing. That's Irrelevant." He put his hand on the handle of the door, "Besides that, I just think that, uh, you deserve a lot better. That's all." He went out the door and shut it.
She let out the breath she was holding in, and only looked up again when the door opened again, "That was out of line. I shouldn't have said that." He didn't fail to notice the sad, defeated look on her face, "I apologize."
Mel unlocked her door, walked inside, closed and locked the door behind her, then leaned against it. She wanted a shower and a glass of wine. She felt gross.
She shouldn't have slept with Dylan. It just kind of happened. She had hoped that it would take that dream about Joe off of her mind, but it didn't. It didn't at all.
She took in a deep breath and headed up the stairs, deciding that a glass of wine wouldn't do anything but make her mind more cloudy, and she didn't want that. She headed straight for the bathroom and stood in the middle, trying to decide if she wanted a bath or shower.
Since it was after 4, she opted for the quicker shower. She turned on the hot water and undressed, moaning when the hot water hit her skin.
"Hey Mel, you okay?" Joe called, startling her.
What the hell was he doing? "Yeah, um, what do you want?"
"Well, you got in late and I just wanted to check on you. See if you needed anything." She let her head hang and the hot water run down her back.
She was a grown woman, and Joe was annoying her by acting like her Dad.
She heard him knock gently again, then the door squeaked a little as it opened, "Mel?"
"Joe, get out of here!" She covered up herself as much as she could with her hands, the glass doors around her shower not offering any coverage.
"Is everything okay?"
"What are you doing in here?!"
" I wanted to make sure you were okay." She looked up at him. "And," he stepped so that he could see her face through the steam covered window, "I wanted another kiss," he said, shoving his hands in his pockets and looking at her.
What was this? She had to be dreaming again. She was asleep, Joe wasn't really in her bathroom, and he wasn't really staring at her like that.
Sighing, she gave up and moved her hands from trying to cover up her body. "Mel?"
She closed her eyes, shook her head and grabbed her washcloth. After filling it with soap, she began to scrub her neck and shoulders, then looked out and found him still staring, watching her. Oh God, there was that ache again. She wanted to feel his lips on hers. His body on hers. His hands on her. She opened her eyes just to make sure he was still standing there.
He nodded towards her, "you, uh, you need any help with that?" His voice was husky, intense.
Mel opened the door just far enough so that she could get her arm and head through, "can you do my back?" She was sure that she had completely lost her mind.
He took a step towards her and cupped her face, kissing the breath right out of her.
He stepped even closer, so she moved backwards and he got into the shower, and closed the door behind him.
His t-shirt and pajama pants were now getting soaked with water, and it was a barrier she wanted gone anyway, so she broke the kiss and reached down to pull it off of his body. The wet fabric fell to the shower floor with a thud and she leaned up to kiss him again, her hands moving from his shoulders, down to his abs, and back up to his shoulders as he kissed her passionately.
His lips finally left hers to move towards her neck, and she moved her head to the side. He explored her neck and then went up to her ear, nibbling on it gently before whispering into it, "Turn around."
She didn't like the idea of turning so she couldn't feel his strong arms and chest, but followed directions anyway.
She then felt the soft wash cloth full of soap being applied to her back and upper shoulders, down her arms, middle back and lower back. He then place his hands on her waist and moved her directly under the water again, washing all of it away. "God Mel," he said, placing his lips on her shoulder and wrapping his arms around her waist, "you are so damn sexy. And smell like heaven."
She moaned and turned around in his arms, pressing the front of her body into his as she wrapped her arms around him.
Her hands ran down his torso again, finding their way all the way down to his belly button and the strings tied on his pajama pants. She began to untie them, whispering against his lips, "Make love to me, Joe."
She squealed as the water turned cold, shocking her back into reality. She reached up to turn it off quickly. She was breathing hard, and she looked around and found no evidence of what she had thought just happened.
"What is wrong with me?" She asked herself, still breathing hard as she stepped out of the shower and wrapped a towel around herself. She needed to wait until the water heater caught back up with her so she could actually shower and not just stand under the water and think about what could happen if Joe were watching her.
Maybe a glass of wine wouldn't hurt.
"Joe, thank you so much for finishing my closet. It looks great." Mel said, walking back into her bedroom.
"Yeah no problem. I now know more about you than I ever thought I would." Joe replied, walking behind her.
Mel chuckled dryly and the swallowed the lump in her throat. In her own mind, she knew just about everything about his body. But she couldn't breathe a word of that to Joe. He'd never let her live that down, "So, um, I just wanted to let you know that I'm not going to see Dylan anymore."
Joe looked at her through those gorgeous long eyelashes any woman would kill to have, "oh yeah?"
She shook her head, "yeah. I'm 32 years old, you know? I don't need to be messing with guys like that."
Joe nodded and picked at his fingernail, "yeah and like I said, you deserve better."
Mel shrugged a shoulder and pressed her lips together, "I um, I know I gave you a little bit of a hard time about being in my business, but I appreciate you looking out for me."
Joe placed his hand on her shoulder and gave it a squeeze, "it's what I'm here for," he said softly, then winked at her. They stood in silence for a few more seconds, looking at each other. "Why are you staring at me?" Joe asked.
Mel looked away from his face, "I'm not staring at you."
Joe chuckled, "yeah you were."
She rolled her eyes and pushed on his shoulder, "goodnight Joe."
"You can take a picture of me if you want, it'll last longer."
Mel leaned against her bedroom door after she had shoved him out. Why could she get him out of her head? It was beyond her.
