A rogue, a clan cat, and a kittypet three cats finding their way home, but what does this mean for the trio? Nowhere is safe for them all, and in the pure unknown… can they trust anyone? In the end are we any different from when we began? What can happen outside of the comfort zones of three opposing sides?
Stars twinkled up in the night sky, covered by tall twoleg dens as the lights inside died out. A group of cats moved through the deserted paths and almost dead thunderpath. The group of cats rounded the corner into an alley and they slowed down and heaved out breaths of despair, some looked over their shoulders and others slumped to the ground.
A large tom stepped towards the back, looking around the corner of one of the twoleg dens. the tom sighed and went back to the other cats, draping his tail over a small kit. "Are we all okay?"
A bone thin cat nodded his head, looking over his shoulder. "The others are fine, I'm afraid for the she-cats though… what if he…?"
"There is no way to be sure, make sure they are okay as quickly as possible."
The skinny tom dipped his head, before walking away. The large tom flopped down onto his belly, turning to the cat beside him who stared wide eyed out in front of him. The tom rested his paw on the cat's side, softly rubbing with his toes. "It's okay, it's all okay now; we're free…"
The cat rested their head on the tom's chest, and the tom embraced the young cat who couldn't be any older than a kit; the bulge in their body apparent and massive.
The tom rested his chin on the cat's head, before he felt the cat slack off. And he watched their head fall of his paws. Dead…
The tom pressed his head into the cat's neck fur, the blood starting to come out with its tainted coloring.
The tom picked the cat up by the scruff, and looked around for a place to bury him. finding a nice patch of wet soil, dug it up and buried it, hanging his head over the grave.
"StarClan, guide this cat to peace from his suffering body." He prayed.
He pressed his paw onto the dirt, a light passed through the alley and all the cats duck down. Some scampering deeper into the alley where the shadows got heavier, all the cats trembled as they stared wildly at the opposite end of the alley.
"We can't stay here, it is too dangerous… we must keep moving."
The cats stared, jaws wide and eyes wild. "B-but some of us cannot move, the weight is gaining in on us."
One tom stepped forward, his eyes meeting the others. "Please, we need to rest here for tonight…"
The large tom sighed his shoulders relaxing. "Alright, go get some rest everyone."
All the cats relaxed, and some flopped onto their sides. The tom sat down and watched out of the alley and into the thunderpaths across the way. The first watch was in place, and everyone else fell asleep.
…
The very next day the cats continued on their trek, all falling into line and behind the tom. 7 cats less than when they entered that alley, they crept through in spots that were hard to see by the large twolegs who walked blindly around; the group were off on a path that they did not know anything about.
A path that would test them all…
A/N: Short… yes. Allegiances… no. there is no point; and there will be no real sequel to this story. Tell me what you think!
