This takes place during iGoodbye.

"I don't wanna go to the dance with anyone" Carly sobbed however she was interrupted when the door opened to reveal the one and only Colonel Shay.

"Not even me?" Her head snapped up at his voice and she didn't waste a second as she ran over to her dad and threw herself into his arms. Spencer was soon to join in the moment before Carly and Colonel shay took off to the dance.

"Wow" Gibby thought aloud as the door slammed shut. All three kids were smiling at the scene that had just happened before them.

"Yeah wow" Freddie agreed as he put a hand on his shoulder.

"I can't believe dad came back" Spencer choked out happily, the smile on his face not budging until he saw the look on Sam's face. Her once smile had dropped and she was now biting her lip and staring at the now seemingly interesting floor.

"You guys are out of pudding cups so I'm going to go the store across the street and get some" Gibby explained as he left the apartment.

"Sam, are you okay?" Spencer asked carefully as he walked over to where her and Freddie were standing. Her gaze immediately snapped towards him and she swallowed hard.

"I'm fine Spence" her voice was strong and if they hadn't have seen the lost look on her face they would've believed it.

"Hey are you sure?" Freddie interjected. His voice was filled with concern. He had never seen Sam's bright blue eyes filled with such sadness.

"Oh quit it with this Dr Phil chiz" she growled.

"Sam you're not fine" Spencer stated softly.

"You can't tell me how to feel. First of all my dad left 8 years ago, I'm pretty sure I've had enough time to get over it" Freddie took a step back, she never mentioned her dad.

"Look Sam-"

"Second of all I hate dances. Dances are dumb. I'd much rather stuff my face with pie and do the waltz with ham"

"But this isn't any dance Sam-" Spencer continued, trying to tell her that it was perfectly normal for her to feel upset.

"Look I'm okay. I don't care. Even- even if he was here I wouldn't want to go anyway" she replied softly before walking towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Freddie asked, worried that she was going to run off and maybe never come back.

"Smoothie" she chirped before slamming the door shut behind her. Freddie and Spencer turned to each other, sharing knowing looks.

"So... she's not okay"

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

"Heyo" Sam greeted as she entered the apartment 15 minutes later with a blueberry blitz in her hand.

"Hey no smoothie for me?" Freddie smirked jokingly. Sam glared in response as she sucked her straw.

"Where's Spence?" She plopped down on the couch, throwing her feet on the wooden table.

"I'm not sure I think he's taking a shower" he cleared his throat "Can I show you something up in the studio?"

"If it's not food then no" she snapped but almost playfully.

"Come on Sam" he begged as he grabbed her arm and pulled her up.

"Fine but this better be good"

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Soft music could be heard as they made their way to the studio door and Sam looked at Freddie confused. He opened the door to reveal Spencer wearing his tux. Sam let out a choked gasp as she realised what was happening.

"Samantha Puckett, may I have this dance?" He asked, putting on a posh voice.

"Spencer...wh-what"

"I know it's not the same but I think of you as my little sister and you deserve this dance"

Sam felt tears rush to her eyes. Her face scrunched up and flushed red. She didn't want to cry, she had told them that she didn't care and she believed that she didn't. Sam Puckett was always right. Or maybe just this once she was wrong.

"O-oh. Sam no. I didn't mean to upset you" Spencer whispered softly and he stopped the music. His face was worried as he saw the girl struggle to hold back her tears.

"I-I'm not upset." she almost whimpered. She looked away from both Freddie and Spencer as she tried to regain her composure.

"Hey, it's okay" Freddie comforted slightly awkwardly. He had never seen a distressed Sam before and he wasn't sure how to react. She let out a choked sob but tried to cover it with clearing her throat. The tears weren't going away, they just kept building up and she new they were going to start falling.

"I just- I don't know" she tried to explain how she was feeling but she didn't know how to put it into words. She began to get annoyed at herself for losing her self control. The first tear fell down her cheek and she wiped it away aggressively.

"Come on Sam. Please don't cry" Spencer attempted to comfort. He had never seen her cry and he wasn't sure how to comfort her.

"I-I'm not crying. I'm just-" she once again tried to make an excuse for acting the way she was. She was taken back when she felt Freddie's arm wrap around her shoulders, in a sideways hug. Her initial thought was to pull away and so she did but another tear fell followed by another and she realised that she maybe she needed the comfort.

"I'm not okay" she whimpered before more tears started to slide down her cheeks. Freddie and Spencer didn't know what to do.

"Sam... don't waste your tears on him" Spencer said softly as he wiped her tears away with his thumbs.

"B-but...I miss him" sobs began to rip from her throat and she slapped her hands over her face, embarrassed as she started to cry.

"Oh Sam" Spencer brought her into a hug, rubbing small circles on her back in attempt to comfort her. Her whole body shook and she gripped onto his shirt for dear life. Spencer looked at Freddie sadly and Freddie looked as if he was about to cry himself.

He ushered soft comforting words into her ears as her sobs began to die down until hiccups and gasps for air. She pulled away after a few minutes and wiped her eyes on her sleeves.

"You okay now?" Freddie asked from beside her. She had almost forgot he was still there. As if it wasn't embarrassing enough, now Fredward benson had seen her cry.

"Yeah" she breathed avoiding eye contact with everyone and deciding to just stare at the ground.

"Sam...I'm really sorry I didn't mean to upset you, we just thought that-" Spencer began to explain only to be interrupted by Sam.

"It's not your fault. It was bound to happen at some point" she sniffed and dragged her sleeve across her nose. She slowly made her way over to the radio and turned it back on.

"May I have this dance?" She asked, smiling slightly. Spencer smiled and beckoned her into his arms.

"Thanks for this. I can't believe I'm actually slow dancing" she chuckled lightly.

"Actually this was all Freddie's idea but he said there was no chance you were going to dance with him"

"He's not wrong" she rolled her eyes but as Spencer spun her around Freddie grabbed her other hand and she spun into his chest landing perfectly in his arms.

"Maybe there was a chance" he said softly as he held onto her arms and rocked to the music.

"You're a dead nub. But...thanks I guess"

"You're welcome princess Puckett"

Hope you enjoyed. Had to add a little bit of seddie at the end there :)
