Chapter 1: Alone and Betrayed

Anakin had his face in his palms. Padme was furious with what just had happened. Anakin almost killed Rush Clovis out of anger and jealously. He lost his temper. Padme insisted she was in control but in Anakin's mind she looked willingly to accept that bastard's kiss.

Anakin is sobbing in his palms when suddenly Padme barges through her apartment's door. "Anakin what are you doing here." Padme shouts.

"Im so sorry Padme, I didnt mean too."

"Anakin not only cost me my lead on Clovis's connection to the Separatists. You cost the Republic, the Jedi, also this relationship to fail."

Anakin in disbelief and shock yelled, "What."

Padme sighed in anger, "Im sorry Anakin but we are done. I cant live a lie anymore. I cant live or be with someone as vile as you." Padme crossed her arms in a defiant manner.

Anakin fell on his knees and looked at his wife. He begged her, "Padme you cant do this to me. I have nothing. You are my life. Please dont do this." Anakin's tears were cascading down his face like a waterfall. This hurt him as much as seeing his mother dies in his arms.

"Anakin cut the Romeo and Juliet crap we are done. Im going to the Jedi Council tomorrow and telling them all about this, all about us." Padme said sternly, lacking any sort of sympathy or emotion.

Anakin looked up at his wife in disbelief. "What happened to you. You changed Padme." He choked on his words.

Padme scoffed, "I changed. Ani, you changed. You killed the sand people, almost killed a Senator. You are using me as a possession. You are the one who needs to go. I need a man who can give me the life I want, not a hinder of one."

Anakin begged again, "Dont tell the Jedi Padme. Thats all I have left. I am nothing without the Jedi. They will banish me and sever my connection to the force."

"Im sorry Anakin. I thought I loved you before. I was wrong. I was delusional. I will do what I must, for the security of myself, the Republic, and The Jedi."

Anakin kept begging and pleading with her. He didnt want to lose the only thing he has left dear to him. "Padme Please, dont do this."

She snarled at Anakin, "Im not your possession Anakin. Get over it. Your mother died and you have nothing left. Now you need someone to use for your own benefit. Well im not going to be that person for you, you selfish prick."

Anakin scolded, "HOW DARE YOU TALK ABOUT MY MOTHER."

Padme barely even took a step back. She fired back with, "You know what Anakin. Now that I think about it, maybe we should have left you on Tatooine all those years ago. The galaxy probably wouldnt have been in chaos then because there would be no, "Hero Without Fear."

That was it the final straw. Padme broke every bone and organ in Anakin's body. His heart was massacred. He stood up and ran out the apartment. He couldnt it take it anymore. He kept running. His brain was spinning like a tornado. He couldnt think right. All he knew was that he had to runaway and never be seen again. He could never go to the Jedi. He could never see Padme. He could never see Obi-Wan, Ashoka, Rex, or R2D2. He couldnt see anyone. He would have to live alone, and suffer the rest of his life alone.

Anakin kept running till he ran in the hangar in the Jedi Temple. He saw his droid, his friend R2D2 sitting there. R2D2 beeped and booped at Anakin.

Anakin crying his eyes out placed his hand on the droids dome and said, "Im so sorry R2. For everything I done. I will never be able to see you again. You are the only person who understands me. A true friend."

R2D2 let out so much saddened beeps and boops. Anakin could tell that R2D2 was very saddened and didnt want Anakin to leave. This hurt Anakin even more. Its the same feeling he had when he had left his mother. Anakin looked up at his droid still sobbing. He choked on his words, "R2 can you record a message for me."

R2D2 didnt hesitate at all. He prepared himself to record Anakin. Anakin looked at the droid and started talking. "Hello, if anyone sees this Im sorry. I failed all of you. I failed my wife, the Jedi, the Republic, all most importantly myself. I dont know who I am anymore. If you truly see this I am gone. You will never see me again. Goodbye." Anakin finished his recording and said, "Thats all R2. Thank You."

The astromech droid closed the distance between him and Anakin, and Anakin quickly hugged the droid. "Goodbye old friend." Anakin then stood up and stole a randome Jedi fighter aircraft. He didnt want to take his old starfighter because he wants to forget about his past entirely. R2D2 kept beeping and booping loudy in such a sadtone it hurt Anakin even more. Anakin got into the aircraft and flew away from the temple, away from his old life, away from his wife, away from everybody.

Coruscanti Air Traffic Control tried to communicate with Anakin but he went radio-silent. When he quickly reached orbit he entered a hyperspace ring, locked in his aircraft. He didnt know where to go, nor did he care. He just had to get out of there. He punched in random coordinates to some places in the Outer Rim away from the Republic and Separatists. Then he vanished from Coruscant's orbit.

Anakin felt lightheaded and dozed off when his aircraft entered the hyperspace lane. The emotional pain he suffered through that short amount of time was so unbearable no human could possibly withstand. Dreams started to flood his mind.

*Anakins Dream*

"Master Skywalker there is too many of them what are we going to do."

"You were my brother Anakin, I loved you."

"Rise Lord Vader."

"Anakin, your breaking my heart."

"There is still good in him."

"Goodbye Master."

"Then my father is truly dead."

"I hate you."

"You shall not recieve the rank of master."

"Now Young Skywalker, You will Die."

Then he saw a man in a robotic suit with mechanical breathing, "Fulfill your destiny."

Anakin suddenly awakes screaming and clenching his fists. "NOOO." Anakin started then to lose control of his ship. The immense reaction has caused blood in his veins to rush his head causing him to grow very nauseous and fatigued. He had to land somewhere before he kills himself in the middle of space. Then Anakin saw it. A green lush moon circling around a planet. It was far away as Anakin liked. He didnt want to go to Tatooine or any other familiar place. He wanted a new fresh place to live the rest of his life away from anything that would signify the past.

He went through all landing procedures and landed in the middle of the forest. It was dark, barely visible. Anakin knew he couldnt stay in his ship, he had to find somewhere to rest for the night. But something about this place was different. He felt like the Force was stronger here, stronger than ever. It was like it was feeding through his veins. He felt like he had more strength, power and awareness. He couldnt even fathom the feelings he was feeling.

Anakin said to himself, "Something is weird about this place. It feels like home."

Then suddenly a voice flooded Anakin's mind, "Anakin." said the voice.

Anakin confused said, "Who are You."

"I see you are distressed, alone, and shaken. You feel like you are nothing. A shard of your past self. But you are wrong."

Anakin yelled again, "Who are You, how do you know me. Show yourself."

"Anakin you are fulfilling your destiny. I am not a person or thing. I am you. I reside within you. I am your force Anakin. I protect and strengthen you."

Anakin still confused and shaken, "I dont understand what is happening."

"You will soon. Get some rest Young Skywalker. You have a lot to digest tomorrow. For your destiny has begun and you will achieve what you were born to achieve."

Anakin repeated, "Born to achieve."

"Yes, young one. What you were born to achieve." said the presence.

Anakin spoke in angry and fury, "I was supposed to be a Jedi. I was supposed to be their greatest warrior. I was their Chosen One. Now they will reject me."

"Yes they will reject you. But that is the best thing that can happen to you. They were holding back your true potential."

Anakin scolded the presence, "QUIET, You are sounding like a Sith. I will never join the Sith."

"I am not a Sith, or a Jedi. I am the balance. Anakin you are the balance. The Jedi and Sith are extremists. Get some rest now, tomorrow will be filled with more reveleations. Goodbye Young Skywalker."

Anakin screamed, "Wait." But it was too late the voice had already disappeared. It left Anakin to ponder. Were the Jedi and Sith wrong? Was this outcome better for my destiny? "No this cant be true. Leaving my wife, the Republic, everyone I loved is not right. This is a Sith Trick I know it." Anakin quickly lowered his temper, he thought to himself again, "Even if it is a Sith Trick. It doesnt matter anymore. I lost everything. I will reside her for the rest of my life alone." Anakin sighed at this thought and walked along in the forest.

He walked for a couple of minutes till he saw a huge temple glistening in the moonlight. To Anakin it was beautiful. Its finally something he found that finally brought him some happiness. He knew this would be his new home. This is where he is going to reside. He entered the temple and walked around its insides.

It looked familiar to him but didnt at the same time. It felt like a Jedi Temple, but it wasnt. He didnt know what to think of it. But at the current state he is in, it didnt matter he just needed some rest. He found an open room with a small bed and blanket. It looked like as if it was already prepared for him. Anakin didnt even ponder at that thought, he quickly hopped in the bed and closed his eyes.

Obi-Wan was sleeping his quarters when he felt a drastic change in the force. He woke up to see his Anakin wasnt in the room they shared. Obi-Wan started to worry. He quickly checked through the force to see where Anakin is. He dropped to the floor at what he felt. His connection with Anakin has been severed. Anakin was no longer his apprentice. Anakin left. Obi-Wan quickly got up and ran out. His mind was racing. "What could of possibly happened." Obi-Wan thought to himself.

Panting for air Obi-Wan stopped himself to regain his strength. He tried to process all past events to connect the dots to his friend's disappearance. He then realized that Anakin was playing a bodyguard for Senator Amidala for her mission on Scipio. "If anyone would know what happened to Anakin, she would know." Obi-Wan then ran out the temple and headed to Padme's apartment.

Obi-Wan knocked frantically on her apartment till a sleepy eyed Padme opened the door. "Master Kenobi, unexpected to see you at this time."

Obi-Wan panting for air said, "Enough of the chit-chat Padme, can I come in."

"Of course." Padme let Obi-Wan in and Obi-Wan collapsed on the couch. He was so tired and distraught. He couldnt believe his closest friend just disappeared and severed the connection.

"Do you need something to drink." Padme said politely.

"Padme please sit, we have to talk. Its very urgent." said Obi-Wan seriously.

Padme's expression quickly changed from polite and caring to afraid and worried. She sat down and put her hands on her lap. "What is it Obi-Wan, your trembling."

"Pad--." Obi-Wan choked on his words. He couldnt continue any further. The thoughts of his lost apprentice is too much. It felt like he lost Qui-Gon again.

Padme cried out, "Obi-Wan what is it. You can tell me."

Obi-Wan still couldnt talk. Padme shifted closer and put her hands on his shoulders. "Its going to be ok Obi-Wan. Just tell me so I can help you."

Obi-Wan looked into her eyes and said, "Padme. Anakin is gone."

Padme's eyes widened, "WHAT, NO."

"Yes, he disappeared. He severed my connection with him. Padme if you know anything please tell me." Obi-Wan cried out

Padme was trembling. She knew she messed up. She said too many hurtful things to Anakin. She was all he had, and she abandoned him. She didnt want to see him again, but she didnt think it would get this far. She placed her head in her palms and said, "Its all my fault Obi-Wan."

"What is your fault Padme. Please tell me. I need to know."

"I broke up with Anakin." Padme cried out. "I said we couldnt see each other again, I said he changed. He almost killed Senator Clovis. He killed sand people. He felt darker. I said I was going to turn him to the Jedi Council."

Obi-Wan's lips were trembling, "You and Anakin were together."

Padme yelled, "Not together Obi-Wan. We were married. The biggest mistake of both of our lives. I couldnt live a lie anymore."

Obi-Wan hugged Padme, "Its ok. Its not your fault Padme. Thank You for telling me everything."

Padme still noticed Obi-Wan was still shaking and looked even worse than before. She hugged him back and said, "Obi-Wan are you Ok."

He looked at her with tears filling his eyes, "I failed him Padme. From what you are saying, it sounds he turned to the Dark Side. I promised Qui-Gon to take him in and teach him the ways of the Force and being a Jedi. I failed him. Now he is gone, consumed by the dark side. To never be found again."

Padme and Obi-Wan hugged and cried for minutes. A man so close to both of them, vanished into the night. A man who showed them both strength and happiness, is now broken, alone, and evil. Little did they know that they were the reasons of his downfall.

Padme broke the embrace and looked at Obi-Wan, "What are we going to do."

Obi-Wan looked back at her and said, "I will report this to the Jedi Council. Anakin will be banned from the Order and you will live your life how you should."

"I understand Obi-Wan. I hope the best for both of us. The republic needs us both. Anakin was my lover, my everything but he changed. I will move on and you must too. For both of our protection."

Obi-Wan then hugged Padme and said, "Good Night Padme. I will see you tomorrow and tell you the ending verdict of the Council's decisions."

"See you tomorrow then." Padme said. Obi-Wan then walked out Padme's apartment and headed back to the Jedi Temple. He knew tomorrow was going to be a long, emotional, and stressful day. He needed as much rest as he could get.
