Ochaco Uraraka was finally single and not by her own choice.
Izuku Midoriya and the gravity Pro Hero were going pretty steady since Deku had realized his true feelings after graduation from U.A. They were inseparable when it came to fighting evildoers and in their personal lives. Practically everyone in their lives thought they would be the first to get married, hell even Ochaco! What changed? The interview…
"I GOT IT!" Deku happily announced in their tiny two-bedroom apartment. She felt the stinging of tears brimming her eyes, The International League had chosen Izuku out everyone in the tiny nation of Japan. They embraced for what seemed like hours until a phone call from Deku's Mentor, All Might, had interrupted the sweet couple.
"Young Midoriya, I'm elated to hear you got accepted! I promise you this is an opportunity befitting of those who are worthy! I hope you will take it immensely seriously! I am proud of you and the hero you have become." the seasoned Pro Hero confessed to his surrogate son which in turn caused another crying fit from the young man.
"I promise, I will make you and all the nation proud!" Izuku managed to choke out through the sobs and went on one of his famous inspirational speeches. Ochaco had the pleasure of telling Deku's mother via phone that caused both women to congratulate/console one another for having this amazingly strong man in their lives. Deku hung up on his mentor and went to comfort his mother, telling her that he will be safe and will call her every day. The young woman had decided to help him relax with some shoulder massages on the sofa, to alleviate the tense boyfriend after the emotional rollercoaster that they had been on for the past hours, "A little higher, Uraraka. Ooohhhh, thank you so much. I needed thisss." the green-haired boy groaned under his lover's hands.
The sneaky girl had snuck a quick kiss that melted several more kisses from her caring man. He pulled away first, almost gasping." I love you so much, Oc-" a chestnut-haired vixen beat him to the punch with another kiss, but he wasn't reciprocating this time.
"Deku, what's wrong? Do you need a moment?" She asked. 'I'm pretty sure he's winded from all the excitement.' the beautiful woman thought. He seemed lost in thought which wasn't uncommon for Deku but he looked so distressed and dare she say, remorseful?
"We have to break up,"
What? HUh? Was she hearing things because the Pro Hero, Uravity, is probably now starting to hear the work of a villain? YES, that's what's happening right now!
"Ochaco, did you hear me?" Deku asked at the surprisingly yet eerily calm girl that is now faced him on the couch.
"Why?" she managed to squeak out before the waterworks came into full flooding force.
"Because of the new job." He sighed out. "They are going to ask so much from me and it just would not be fair to you. You would have to move out of the country to who knows! I don't even know yet! And you would have to find work there and if you can't speak the language!"
He put his face into her toned legs and exclaimed out."I don't know what to do and I don't want to hurt you but this is my dream an-" She combed his wild hair with her fingers, still crying but now she might lose her only love in life to his aspirations. 'I can't be selfish now... They need him... But it hurts so much..'
"It's more than okay."
No, it is not.
"I understand."
I don't. I want to support you but I need you here. I need us together.
"I will be fine here in Tokyo. You need this more."
Oh god, how can I make rent? I need to come up with Deku's half!
The man of her life looked up with that big puppy dog look and she almost forgot about the struggles. Almost...
"Are you sure?" He searched for the answer in her dark orbs.
"Of course!" she hugged the now ex-boyfriend to reassure him and kissed his cheek for good luck.
The airport was packed with friends, family, the media, all either wishing Deku safe travels or hoping to catch a glimpse of the International Heroes since it had been over ten years that a Japanese citizen was picked for the coveted title. Security and Heroes were on a tight schedule.
The young man was given a microphone and a few moments to make a declaration for those in attendance.
"I promise to make the world a better place and a huge thank you for those who came and watching! I'll do my best! PLUS ULTRA!" He gingerly smiled and waved.
Ochako was in the crowd, sectioned for friends, holding a big "DELAWARE SMASH" poster in support of her ex. Just because they were lovers, doesn't mean that she didn't value their friendship. Especially the hero was shitting bricks thinking how to pay the high rent by herself.
"HEY GIRL!" A very familiar voice screamed from across the already loud pandemonium of this airport. It was Mina! The girls hugged each other and jumped joy when reconnecting, "Let's grab some lunch! My treat!" the pink bodied woman exclaimed. Ochako waved her last goodbyes for the International Hero and the jet holding them all. She could swear Deku gave her that cute smile he always had special for her. Mina had wrapped her arm around Uravity and asked, "So what do you drink? Mixed drinks or straight?"
"HE WHAT?" The alien girl screamed in an American style restaurant while the other shushed her as to not get kicked out before the food even got to the table.
"Yeah, we broke up," Uraraka was sipping on her Pina Colada and hoping she wouldn't have to explain this horrible week. Deku and Ochaco spent the little time they had together packed his stuff to either take with him or to leave at his mother's.
Mina gulped her drink, she really couldn't believe what her old school pal was telling her. Deku and Uravity are NOT together? What stupid timeline is this?!
"So how was the goodbye sex?" She winked to help combat the awkward silence. Uraraka had to hold her alcohol in her mouth to avoid spitting it in shock. "It was nice." she blushed. Deku had always been attentive but sweet, never wanted to do too much as he had fears of hurting the soft woman. Ochako didn't delve too much of what happened but let her that it took place the night before taking off. The last hurrah. Mina was surprised that now "Off" couple even did that but then again they were together for four years before the break-up. But still, she couldn't help that it didn't sit right with her.
"Oh hi Uraraka, it's me! Your now ex-boyfriend, could we continue to sex despite the fact I broke your heart and now I am leaving?"
When Mina had to end things, which happened a lot more frequently than they should for some odd reason, she always put her foot down. No texts, if they called they got the BLOCK, and certainly no intercourse. Though her relationships seemed to last only of a couple of months with all heroisms and intense jealousy from said exes.
The food had arrived and they chowed down on their food. Mina got the Hawaiian style wings and Ochako had a meatball sub while they shared a basket of fries. They made light conversations of just gossiping or what is going on with work. They both are accomplished heroes with Mina in the fifteenth spot and Uravity in twenty-third place. Of course, the top heroes were Deku and Todoroki in the first and second spots. Mina added a question that left the brunette pondering, who would take Midoriya's top-rank.
"I guess Todoroki?" Ochaco responded and the other girl had gleefully chimed in "What about Bakugou?". Now that's someone Uravity didn't think about too often. Especially that crass mouth and ugly attitude. Sure, they were in the same unit but they never really had the same schedule. Deku and Uravity had the morning shift while the blond ticking time bomb had the late-night shift. Practically everyone in the office made sure those guys had completely different times as to not start brawls and avoidance of possible office destruction. Todoroki was a strong man but Bakago made sure he was right behind, ready to take that spot from him and finally "KICK STUPID DEKU'S ASS OUT" as she often heard the from residential office gossips, Aoyama and Hagakure. She always laughed with them in the break room and they would poke fun by impersonating the loud mouth hero which she was surprisingly really good at until Deku asked her to stop.
"Kacchan deserves respect just as much anyone else and you shouldn't be talking about others like that." he scolded them like a disappointed parent. It didn't stop them but it did create a secret code for them to make the iconic angry eyebrows with their hands about their former classmate. But other than dishing about the silly things he proclaimed the night before, Ochako didn't think about him. Bakugou was always those guys she wanted to steer clear from.
Both girls had gone on their phones for a brief time to check their social media and sure enough, as if her phone was listening to her, Bakugou Katsuki was top of her friends she might know on Instagram. Ochako wanted to peek at how he organized his social media; she thought it would full of thirsty gym pics and all the women he had the pleasure of "knowing" for a night out, much of the way of his best friend, Kirishima's Instagram. She was surprised by the lack of it. Actually, he would post animals that he would find out loose with a collar, often posting "Found by Shibuya Alley, her name is Onigiri."
The fangirls who followed him would either put a mundane "Cute!" with a plethora of emojis to the downright sexual "DADDY! I'll wear a dog collar for you!*eggplant emoji*" Usually the poster could remove comments like that but he never did. Maybe he liked that type of attention. She felt her skin turn hot reading those nasty comments, she was so flustered that she the follow button accidentally when trying to get back to her page.
"Can I ask you something?" the gravity superhero uncomfortably squirmed which made Mina more curious.
"Will you be my roommate?" before Pinky could give her answer, Uravity's phone pinged with a notification instantly.
