Episode 1: The necklace?!
(Azuma's inner monologue) "Hello, My name is Azuma Daishin, and this is the story about how my normal life came crashing down, and my crazy Life began. (Looks over at Hitana sleeping on his desk) This is my childhood friend Hitana. He's lazy, sometimes perverted, and is somehow always conveniently broke when you need a loan. However, he's overall a really nice guy, and the guy I'm proud to call my best friend". The school bell rings and Azuma walks over to Hitana. He shakes Hitana to wake him up. Hitana wakes up with a stretch and a smile."Hey Azuma" says Hitana as he stands up. Azuma sighs. "Let's get to our next class" says Azuma. The two start walking to their next class. "You can't keep sleeping in class you know. Your grades already suck ass" says Azuma. "Haven't you heard sleep is important for your education" asks Hitana in a joking tone. "Yeah, I don't think it's working for you, considering your barely passing all your classes" says Azuma. "Well, passing is still passing" says Hitana with a smile. "Still, i think you need to apply yourself more. How about you start by actually staying awake" says Azuma. "Hey, maybe you should sleep in class. It's good for the mind, body, and soul" says Hitana in a joking tone. Hitana and Azuma approach a taller girl with orange hair, and a shorter girl with pure white hair, and an eye patch on her left eye. (Azuma's inner monologue) "These are some more childhood friends of ours. They've both had the hots for Hitana for as long as I can remember. The tall one is Asaka Minida, but everyone just calls her Flair, because her hair color. The short one, is Shiro Kukujoji. She has some sort of medical problem with her left eye. Everytime it's exposed to even a little light, she feels intense seering pain. That's why she always wears the eye patch. I don't really know the reasoning, but ever since we were kids she's called Hitana "big brother". Shiro happily waves at Hitana. "BIG BROTHER" she yells happily. "Hey you two. What up" asks Flair. She looks at Hitana and sees where he's been sleeping in class. "Hitana, you haven't been sleeping in class have you" asks Flair, who already knows the answer. Hitana gives a guilty smile. "Who me" he asks in a joking and nervous tone. Flair begans to lecture Hitana about the importance of an education. (Azuma's inner monologue) "You know, even though Hitana can be a pain in the ass sometimes, I try to cherish the moments I have with him. I know what it sounds like, but it's not what it seems. You see it all started when we were kids. (Flashback) "It was raining hard that night. Me and Hitana used to play with these Japanese warlord action figures. They were based on the time of Oda Nobunaga, or something like that. We were playing like usual, when suddenly…" "My Kenshin is totally cooler than your Shingin" said the kid form of Azuma. "No way. Shingin could never lose to Kenshin" says the kid form of Hitana. "Your wrong. Shingin is stupid, and so are you" says kid Azuma. "Shut up! I'm going home" says kid Hitana as he runs out the front door and into the street. Kid Hitana hears the screeching of car tires. He looks over to see a car trying to stop, but it's not slowing down. "HITANA" yells kid Azuma. It was too late. The wet road and late stop due to the dark made it impossible for the driver to stop in time. (Azuma's inner monologue) "The next thing I remember, Hitana was being loaded into an ambulance". The kid Azuma rushes over to the paramedic loading him up. "Please save him. Hes my best friend. I don't want him to die" says kid Azuma as he sobs. "I'll do what I can, and so will the doctor at the hospital" says the paramedic. (Azuma's inner monologue) "Soon after, Hitana is rushed to the hospital. My mom and dad take me up there to wait and reassure me that everything would be okay. Then, it happened…". Kid Azuma hears Hitana's heart monitor deadline. "We're losing him doctor" says a nurse. The doctors all sound frantic, as they try to find a way to bring him back. Kid Azuma rushes over to the room. "NO NO NO" yells kid Azuma. Suddenly, the heart monitor springs back to life, as though by a miracle. "What...just happened doctor" asks a nurse. "A miracle. A blasted miracle" says the doctor. Kid Azuma peeks into the room to see kid Hitana now has a sliver cross necklace around his neck. (Azuma's inner monologue) "I had never seen that necklace before, but at the time I didn't really care. I was just happy my best friend was still alive. (Flashback ends) And that is why I try to cherish all the moments we have together. I never want to take him for granted again. Flair finishes lecturing Hitana. "Alright. Alright. I'll start thinking about not sleeping in class" says Hitana. (Azuma's inner monologue) "Which is Hitana for "not going to happen". Azuma, Hitana, Flair, and Shiro are approached by a blonde girl with glasses. (Azuma's inner monologue) "This is Asa. She and Hitana have known each other longer than me and he have, but I'm not sure what the nature of the relationship is. They constantly bicker and argue. They've done it right after they started highschool. They hadn't seen each other for years. I guess they had a falling out or something. I've tried asking countless times, but Hitana avoids the question with humor, and Asa ignores me. Maybe I'm just overthinking things though. I guess I shouldn't pry. "Hitana, as lothe as I am to do so, I must speak with you about your "sleeping habits" says Asa revealing her british accent. "Oh spare me. I've already got that lecture today" says Hitana. "I wouldn't be here if I thought that incompetent brain of yours would understand after one mere lecture" says Asa. "Hey, leave big brother alone meanie" says Shiro. Asa turns to Shiro and Flair. "Honestly, I don't see why you girls would waste your time with this fool. You girls could surely find better friends" says Asa. "Who's the bigger fool, the fool, or the fool who waste her time lecturing the fool" asks Hitana. "I wouldn't be talking to you if not for the fact that my duty as student council president dictates that I tell you that you can't sleep in class" says Asa in an angry tone. "Alright fine. I give. Lecture me all you want" says Hitana. "Huh" asks Asa in a confused tone. "Do what you gotta do. I'm all ears" says Hitana. "I don't want to ruin a good thing here, but why? What are you planning" asks Asa. Hitana leans against the hallway wall. "I don't know. I guess I just wanted to talk normally, like we used to. Bury the hatchet" says Hitana. Asa turns a little red. "W-we'll do this later. I have some things to take care of" she says as she walks away. Hitana smiles. "And victory goes to Hitana" says Hitana. Azuma notices Hitana's cross necklace glow, but then the glowing slowly fades away. (Azuma's inner monologue) "Wow, what was that glow? I've never seen it before. I get this strange feeling like it's important somehow". A little while later, it's time for lunch. Azuma stairs off at the lunch table. "Hey Azuma, are you okay" asks Flair. Azuma looks at Flair. "Yeah. I'm fine" says Azuma unconveniencingly. "Azuma, you started acting weird after Asa showed up earlier. What's wrong" asks Flair. Azuma looks over at Hitana who is happily chowing down. "...Hitana, does that necklace of yours glow" Azuma asks hesitantly. Hitana stops with a mouth full of food, and looks down at his necklace. He swallows the food and looks over at Azuma. "I don't know. I don't think so, as far as I know it doesn't" says Hitana. (Azuma's inner monologue) "Maybe I just imagined it, or maybe it was just reflecting light...but, why do I feel like it's more than that". "Maybe the sun shown on it, and you thought it was glowing" says Flair. "Maybe" Azuma says half heartedly as he stares at the necklace. After lunch, the group run into a blonde guy. "Hey Hitana, word around says Asa was looking for you. Did she give you the talk" asks the guy. "Really Agasa, the last one that should be lecturing Hitana about laziness is you" says Flair. Agasa laughs. "Thats true, but unlike Hitana, I'm a 100% when it comes to grades. Besides, I just came to warn a friend he's about to get an earful" says Agasa. Hitana and Agasa fist bump. (Azuma's inner monologue) "This is Agasa, Asa's older brother. He and Hitana have a lot in common, they both sleep through class, laugh things off, and have incredible luck with girls. The only major difference is their grades". Azuma notices Agasa has a necklace similar to Hitana's, only Agasa's is an arrow, pointing down. Azuma watches as the necklace glows for only a moment. (Azuma's inner monologue) "There is no way thats a coincidence. There has to be some connection". Agasa smiles. "Well, I'm off to take a nap. Good luck with Asa buddy" says Agasa as he starts to walk away. "Your not exactly setting a good example" says Flair. Agasa turns to her and smiles, then walks away. Azuma stares off. (Azuma's inner monologue) "I've got to find the connection" Azuma turns to Hitana. "Hey, Hitana. Where and when did you get that necklace" asks Azuma. Hitana looks down at it for a moment, but says nothing. Asa walks up behind Hitana. "Alright you. Time for that lecture, please excuse us" says Asa as she grabs Hitana's arm and starts dragging him away. Hitana looks at Azuma.."I'll explain everything later" says Hitana with a convincing smile. Flair looks at Azuma. "Azuma, we're friends. You know you can talk to me about this right" asks Flair. (Azuma's inner monologue) "I wouldn't even be sure where to start. "Hey, I'm obsessed with a feeling that there's more to that necklace" might not be the best way to phrase it. Besides, I shouldn't concern her over nothing. Still, I'm going to ask about the necklace". "Hey Flair, do you know when, or where Hitana got that necklace" asks Azuma. Flair thinks for a moment. "The day after the accident, I went to visit him in the hospital. That was the first time I ever saw it. As for where he got it, I asked him once, but he said it was a secret and laughed it off" says Flair. (Azuma's inner monologue) "So I'm not the only one who didn't see it until after the accident". "What this about? Is this still about the glow" asks Flair. "Nah, I just wanted some new bling" says Azuma unconveniencingly. Flair shakes her head. "I know thats a lie, and I'm not going to push the issue, but if you want to talk, you know where to find me" says Flair. "Me too. You can talk to me too" says Shiro. Then the girls walk away, leaving Azuma alone in the hallway. Azuma shakes his head and punches a locker. "What's wrong with me? Why can't I give this up" asks Azuma. Azuma sighs. "Maybe I can find something in the library" he says. Meanwhile, Hitana sleeps at a desk in an empty class besides Asa. "Hitana! Wake up" yells Asa as she slams her hands down on his desk. Hitana sits up. "I thought you were going to take this seriously" says Asa as her brow starts to twitch in frustration. "I take all my naps seriously" says Hitana in a joking tone. Asa tap's her foot and gives Hitana the evil eye. Hitana sighs. "Fine, I'll try harder" says Hitana. "Very well. Thank y-" starts Asa. Hitana lays his head back down. "What on Earth are you doing" asks Asa in an angry tone. "Trying harder to take my naps seriously" says Hitana in a joking tone. "HITANA" yells Asa in frustration. Meanwhile, Azuma walks in the library. On his way in, he accidentally bumps into a skinny, black haired guy with an unhappy look on his face. "Oh, uh, sorry about that" says Azuma. The black haired guy glances at him, then walks away. (Azuma's inner monologue) "That's Magasei. Nobody really knows anything about him. He never talks to people and prefers to stay to himself. Hitana has tried on numerous occasions to make friends with him, but everytime ends in failure". Azuma walks over to a blonde guy who has sparkling earings in each ear, and a ball cap on covering his eyes. "Hey Mitsuga" says Azuma. The blonde guy looks up at Azuma, and tilts his cap up a little. "What can I do for you, Azuma Daishin" asks Mitsuga in a soothing tone. "Im looking for books about necklaces. Specifically ones in the shape of a cross that glow" says Azuma. Mitsuga looks around a moment, before jumping up, and leading Azuma through the maze of shelfs. "Is there anything like I asked" asks Azuma. Mitsuga stops and pulls out a thin book. "That's it" asks Azuma. "The closest thing to what you specifically wanted" says Mitsuga. Azuma stares at the book for a moment. "So tell me, what happens if you cannot find that which you seek" asks Mitsuga. Azuma thinks for a moment, then nods. "I've made my decision. I keep searching until I figure it out" says Azuma. Mitsuga smiles. "Perhaps that which you seek, should not be found. Some questions are better off unanswered, for once you discover the truth, your life changes forever" says Mitsuga. "What does that mean" asks Azuma. Mitsuga smiles and hands Azuma the book. "You'll learn soon enough, if you have the desire" says Mitsuga as he walks back over to his chair, sits down, and pulls his cap back down. Azuma stares at the book for a moment, before opening it and beginning his read. Meanwhile, Flair and Shiro are in a cooking class. They are both wearing aprons and have their hair covered. Flair is happily chopping up a carrot, while humming a little toon. Flair looks over to see Shiro sadly pealing a potato. "Feeling bad for the potato" asks Flair with a giggle. Shiro remains silent. Flair goes to speak again, but Shiro turns to Flair with a tear rolling down her cheek. "Please tell me what's going on. You and Azuma have been really quiet today. Even big brother seemed a little different today. I just want things to be back to normal" says Shiro. Flair looks away for a moment. "Forget it" says Shiro as she rushes out of the room. Flair looks down. (Flair's inner monologue) "Azuma, why can't you just talk to us". Meanwhile Shiro runs down the hall, and crashes into one of two guys walking down the hall. The one she crashed into was a brown haired boy, and the other was a guy with dark hair. "O-oh im sorry" says Shiro. "Just watch where your going next time. Furthermore, no running in the halls" says the brown haired guy. "Nah, screw that! What's your deal Cyclops? What was so damned important" asks the dark haired boy. "It's not nice to call people names" says Shiro. "Look, we're already late, let's just-" starts the brown haired boy. "It's not nice to run into people either girly, but look what happened" says the black haired guy. "Look, don't be a dick man. She already apologized" says the brown haired guy. "Nah, this bitch needs to be taught a-" starts the dark haired guy. Magasei is walking down the hallway, and shoulder checks the the dark haired guy. "What the hell?! Get back here and apologize dark dumbass" says the dark haired guy. Magasei keeps walking. "Damn you, don't ignore me" says the dark haired guy as he runs up and tries to punch Magasei from behind. Within an instant, Magasei spins around, grabs the guy by the arm, and applies a bunch of pressure to a pressure point. The guy falls to the ground in pain. "Enough! As student council treasurer, it's my duty to break this up" says the brown haired guy as he rushes over to the two. Magasei releases and walks away. The brown haired guy offers his hand to the dark haired guy, but the dark haired guy smacks his hand away. "Damn him. He'll pay for that. As for you, some friend you are. You didn't have my back" says the dark haired guy as he stands up and shoulder checks the brown haired guy. The two walk away, while Shiro watches Magasei walk down the hallway in amazement. Meanwhile, Hitana and Asa are still in the room. "Alright, do you finally understand" asks Asa. "Oh, I'm sorry. I wasn't listening, but if I agree to say I payed attention can we be done" asks Hitana. Asa turns away from Hitana. "Alright, let's here it. I know that stance. That's the "I'm about to yell at Hitana" stance" says Hitana. Asa turns back to him with tears rolling down her face. "I don't know why I got my hopes up! You said you wanted to talk like we used to, but all you've done is do your best to aggravate me. You haven't changed" she says in frustration. (Hitana has a flashback). "Hitana! I was so worried about you. Mommy told me what happened, and I realized something. I-I think I-" starts a kid form of Asa. Kid Hitana walks right passed her with a look of sorrow in his eyes. "Hey meanie! Im trying to tell you something important" says Kid Asa. Kid Hitana stops and grabs his necklace. "Asa...I-I can't talk to you anymore, and you can't talk to me either" says kid Hitana as he runs away with tears running down his face. "Hitana! Wait! Tell me why" kid Asa yells as kid Hitana rushes off. (Hitana's inner monologue) "That was the most painful thing I've ever done. It was made more painful as Asa tried to talk to me after that. I couldn't let her in" (Flashback jumps forewords). Asa beats on Hitana's front door. "Why are you doing this Hitana?! I'm sorry! Whatever I did, I'm sorry! Please let me in! I miss you" kid Asa yells. Hitana is laying on the floor. He looks over at the door, and more tears roll down his face. (Hitana's inner monologue) "This continued for months, but eventually Asa's parents separated. She went with her father back to England for a while, Agasa stayed here with their mother. Years later, I start Highschool, and suddenly-" (Flashback jumps forward). Hitana runs into the front doors of the school. "Crap, I can't believe I'm late my first day-" Hitana starts as he crashes into someone. He looks down to see Asa. Asa looks up to see Hitana, and gives him a cold glare. "Hey, Asa. Long time no see. About when we were kids I'm so-" starts Hitana in a playful tone. Asa slaps him across the face. "I'll never forgive you Hitana! Never ever! Your a heartless bastard" says Asa as angry tears run down her face. Hitana grabs his face, and smiles, then starts laughing. "You definitely slap harder than you used to, that reminds me of when we were kids and I was at your house, and Agasa talked me into walking in while you were-" starts Hitana. "What is your problem" Asa interuptes. "Im lazy, sarcastic, and I've got this pain in my neck that's been killing me for the past 3 days" says Hitana in a joking tone. "HITANA! I swear to-" starts Asa. "You know, your cute when your mad" interuptes Hitana. Asa blushes and clenches her fist. "D-dont think petty complements will grant you forgiveness. I still hate you" says Asa. "I don't know. I'm a pretty hard person to hate" says Hitana in a joking tone. Asa rolls her eyes. "Oh, and by the way-" starts Hitana. "What is it now" Asa asks. Hitana points at the clock. "Your totally late for class" says Hitana with a cocky smile. Asa looks at the clock. "Y-You Jerk" says Asa as she rushes off to class. (Hitana's inner monologue. Flashback ends) "Ever since then, things have been rocky between me and Asa. We constantly take jabs at each other. I really want us to be friends again, but...I can't". "You know, you really are the worst Hitana. Do you even care how I feel? How I felt when you started treating me like I had the plauge, with no explanation whatsoever? I suppose you wouldn't" she says as the tears continue to fall down her face. Hitana gently grabs her chin, and tilts her head up. A look of surprise fills her face. Hitana wipes her tears away. Asa jerks her head away. "How is it you can make me so mad, and then make my heart skip a beat" asks Asa. Hitana sits back in his seat and smiles. "Because it's hard to concentrate on sleeping with you crying" says Hitana in a joking tone. Asa clenches her fist. "I hate you, you jerk" says Asa as she starts walking towards the door. "I also hate to see a pretty girl cry, especially one I care about" says Hitana. "S-shut up" she yells as she runs out of the room. Hitana folds his arms behind his head and smiles. "Guess that means. I win again" says Hitana in a joking tone. Meanwhile, Flair walks around the hallways until she finds Shiro. Shiro lays curled up in front of a row of lockers fast asleep. Flair smiles and walks over to Shiro. Shiro has some hair in her face, which Flair brushes out of her face. Shiro starts mumbling in her sleep. Flair giggles. (Flair's inner monologue) "She must be dreaming. I won't wake her" Flair sits on the floor next to Shiro, and leans against her. (Flashback) A kid version of Shiro looks up at a kid version of Flair with her exposed eye. Kid Flair starts rubbing kid Shiros head. "Hitana will be okay. He has to be" says kid Flair in a hopeful tone. (Flashback ends). Flair looks over at Shiro and smiles. "I guess some things never change" says Flair. Azuma walks down the hallway looking disappointed. "Did you find what you were looking for" asks Flair. Azuma sighs. "No" says Azuma in a disappointed tone. "Azuma...you-" starts Flair. The bell rings, indicating the end of the day. "See you tomorrow" says Azuma as he walks away. As Azuma walks home he sighs. He pulls out a piece of paper. "I might as well study along the way" says Azuma. Just then a strong wind gust blows the piece of paper into an alley. Azuma runs into the alley to see a bald guy holding a crow bar, and two other guys with chains. "You lost punk" asks the bald guy. "No I just-" started Azuma. "This is black hawk territory, and you ain't no black hawk" yelled the bald guy. Azuma turns around to see two more guys behind him with baseball bats. Fear fills Azuma's face as he looks over at the bald guy. "Now you gotta pay" said the bald guy. "I don't think so" said a familiar voice from behind Azuma. Before Azuma can react a strong gust flies past him and all he can see is a beautiful set of white wings ram straight into the bald guy. "Hey Azuma" said the familiar voice. "No...it can't be" says Azuma.
