Obi-Wan's POV
Anakin hadn't moved since it happened. He had now been standing on the steps to the Temple for almost four hours. The council had called for a meeting, and they sent me to get Anakin. He had actually sat down on the steps by the time I had gotten to the entrance. I could sense nothing but despair and anger. Nothing less than what I expected, but also knowing he shouldn't be feeling anger no matter what the trial is; it isn't the Jedi way. I pushed the thought aside, Who am I kidding, I'm feeling the same way. I knew Anakin was closer to Ahsoka than anyone else in the Temple, but she is, was, grandpadawan after all.
I sat down next to Anakin examining my next choice of words very carefully. "The council has called for a meeting." I said softly. He was staring straight ahead with his shoulders slouched. He didn't even flinch when I had spoken, and all he mumbled was, "Okay, just give me a sec." His voice sounded hollow and hurt, but also slightly annoyed. I knew why. If he had any respect for the council before, well he definitely didn't have any now. Like Anakin, I never believed Ahsoka was guilty or at least I'd hoped she wasn't guilty. When the council came to together to make a decision about Ahsoka, I was one of the few who actually took her side. I told the council we should give our fellow Jedi the benefit of the doubt whether they are innocent or not.
I got up and started to head to the meeting. I heard him grumble and reluctantly stand to his feet. He fastened his pace so he could walk parallel to me. All he did was either look down or just stare blankly as we walked. It was the most silent I've ever heard him be. Not just to me but to everyone. He usually tries to make jokes or just see how any person was doing. There was none of that. I figured it was going to be like this for a while. When we had reached the meeting chambers, Master Windy was the only one there. The door shut behind us, and Master Windu spoke, "We have a mission for the two of you. The mission will be off the record because of what it entails you to do. I will however let you opt out of you so choose." I looked at Anakin and gave a nod. Anakin then looked at Master Windu and said, "Bring it on."
Hopefully, I thought, Hopefully this will get his mind on something else.
