PART 1:

The Beginning

Chapter One:

The New Player

The sky was littered with stars, shining down on the dark forest below. The forest was gloomy, the darkness only broken by the unnatural light shining out of a large crater. The dim forest surrounded the crater. The sky was a beautiful shade of orange-pink, and the stars were fading ever so slowly as the square shaped sun rose over the horizon; dawn. This beautiful scenery is seen almost every morning in the world of DentOre. The trees grew, pigs wandered about. The light from the crater began to fade as the sky brightened. This crater was mainly composed of dirt, the same material that most of the surrounding terrain was made of. At the bottom of the crater was a solid stone floor, on which was cast a shadow, from a player. It seemed to look around and be awe-struck at its environment. It wore what looked like a black jersey with the hood on, and it had gloves and shoes that had a blue-red alternating pattern. He had a grey mask and had a red 'healer' plus on his jersey. His name was Alan_da_Creepa.

"What is this place?" asked the player, "Everything is made of dirt, trees and stone!"

"Everything is made of blocks… Wow! This place is like the real world! Amazing!

Torches were spread everywhere around the crater, shining endlessly. He saw a few signs, some saying not to take anything you're not supposed to take, but one sign caught his eye. He read the message aloud:

"Hello player. If this is one of your first times playing this game, take a wooden sword and 3 apples out of the chest. Take a book, as it will tell you about this place, and everything you need to know." Alan looked in the chest and saw many sword-shaped pieces of wood. The chest was also littered with apples. He grabbed three apples, a book and two swords. He did feel kind of guilty about taking 2 swords, but what if one broke?

He walked up the crater edge and saw a long hole in the ground, going straight down. He wandered towards the drop, dangled his legs over the side and began to read the book. Suddenly, Alan heard voices.

"Sparks! Come over here! I found someone who could help us!"

"Ok Flame! I'm coming, just let me grab some stuff from this chest!"

Alan stared at the crater as the two emerged from the large hollow. One had the appearance of a player who hadn't yet modified his skin yet; he had the standard Minecraft look, just that the player's clothes were fully red, his name was Sparks. The other player was the same, just his clothes were fully orange, Flame. Just as Alan expected, the players ran up to him and asked questions.

"Hey! My name is Sparks015, and that's my brother Flame889. You can call us Sparks and Flame. This is our first time playing this game. Can you give us some advice on what to do?" Sparks asked.

"I guess this is my first time playing DentOre as well, but I have this book that can tell us about general stuff in this world. By the way, my name is Alan_da_Creepa, but you can call me Alan as a nickname" Alan replied. He opened the book and began to read.

INTRODUCTION TO DENTORE

Hello player, welcome to DentOre. As you can see, the world around you is blocky. DentOre is a game with no boundaries or limits. Let your imagination unravel. The server you are playing in right now is called the NaughtLives server. This server is ruled by a government of 10, making sure the land is safe. There are 2 major cities:

-The Kingdom

-Chippendin

The Kingdom is a fairly larger city than Chippendin, but these are the largest of all colonisations. The 3rd largest group of people in an economy is Lucville, a super-large town by the great lake of Stratano.

You will gradually become cold, thirsty and hungry, especially after sprinting and using tools.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

This book is filled with everything you need to know about. Info ranges from crafting recipes to mobs (monsters) and contraptions + machines. All the stuff to know begins on the next page.

Alan closed the book. "That's the introduction!"

Suddenly, an arrow whizzed past his head. Although his heart was beating fast from the attack, he sighed in relief, at least the arrow hadn't pierced his skull. He looked towards where Sparks was sitting next to him, but all he saw was Flame standing up and gaping down into the ravine in shock. Alan felt devastated. A friend that he had only just met was dead, from falling to his death.

Then he noticed, "But won't he just respawn in that crater over there?"

Tears flowed down Flame's cheeks: "As far as I've heard, if you die on this server, you'll never come back!"

Rage pumped through Alan's veins as he rushed at the attacker. Oddly, this player was light grey with a bow in his hands and a quiver of arrows on his back. It had no skin and was completely made of bone.

Flame screamed at him. "No, Alan! Don't go near it, it's a skele…"

His words were cut off from the whizzing of an arrow. Alan screamed in pain as an arrow notched into his left arm. But this was no time to cry. He did the only thing he could think of: he pulled a wooden sword out of his inventory and drove it into the thing's head. Although it took an almost deathly blow, the player grabbed another arrow from it's quiver and began to pull back. Alan charged but slipped over. He was at the feet of the enemy. Alan prepared for himself to die when…

The enemy burst into flames, running like crazy towards the shade-filled woods.

"That was a skeleton!" Flame shouted as he ran up towards Alan. "It will shoot you with it's arrows, it has infinite supply. They burn when in direct sunlight so they take cover under the shade of buildings and trees etc."

Alan sighed in relief. He suddenly remembered the dull pain in his arm and quickly pulled out the arrow.

"How do you know that?" Alan queried, as a smirk appeared on Flame's face.

"You should really read that book of yours," Flame said, "I read the first 4 pages of the guide, and it told me about zombies on the first 2 pages, and skeletons on the next 2 pages. There were even pictures of the skeletons and zombos! I also discovered they both burn during the day."

Alan rolled his eyes and said, "Hey Flame. There's nothing here to do, and since we are on a server, there should be a sign somewhere that will tell us where to go, probably to a settlement."

With that, the two players rushed off to find a sign. Eventually, they found it and it said to follow a road that would lead him to a large village, where they could live until they were ready to go out on their own. Without a further or do, Alan and his friend sprinted off to head down the road towards the village that awaited them.

The road was made of grass that had been flattened and was dead, hence the yellow-brown tone. Trees surrounded the straight path, shadowing ground next to it. Sunlight shone through the gap in between the trees. Alan could see things walking around in the woods and he knew those were zombies, terrifying creatures that could kill you if you weren't strong enough. As he walked down the path, Alan noticed a small trail leading off the road, but he knew it was dangerous to go into the woods, where the zombies lurked.

"Don't go there, Alan. There could be some kind of griefer there." Flame warned.

"What's a griefer?" Alan inquired, trying not to look dumb.

"It's a person who kills people, mostly noobs, for no particular reason other than for fun, they are mentally insane or because they are angry cause' noobs killed them." Flame replied.

"But I so want to go down the side path!" Alan moaned. His curiosity overpowered him and he began to head down the trail.

"I guess I'll just wait here, then. I will meet you exactly at dusk." Flame said.

Alan had been strolling down the path for quite a while now, when he saw a flash in the corner of his eye. Whatever, Alan thought, it'll probably be a pig or some animal, nothing to be scared of.

As he trekked down the path, Alan heard a noise. It sounded like a clatter of bones. He swerved around and saw a player with a stone longsword in a pile of bones. He had what looked like a helmet made of chain and leather boots. The player had one hand on the ground. He looked up.

"You better thank me for saving your life noob." the player with the stone sword said, grabbing his sword and putting it on his belt by his side. Suddenly, Alan noticed that he would have been killed by a skeleton if he hadn't been saved. It felt very random, but he had to ask, just in case.

"What's your name?"

The other player stared at him, and sighed. "My name's Arthur_Aquadorias8. This is my 5th time playing DentOre, and I began on this server 3 DentOre days ago. I know my name's a mouthful, but you can just call me Arthur. "You can come to my house and buildsite."

With that the duo carried on down the track towards Arthur's home.
