Aquaman Fanfiction
After the attack sent by King Orvax, Atlanta and Tom decide to move the toddler Arthur to a small town further in from the ocean to avoid the King's clutches.
The family waits for King Orvax to die so that Atlanna can return to her kingdom and Arthur can be named Crown Prince. When Arthur becomes a teenager, he sneaks out on a night joyride to the beach with some classmates, against his parent's warnings.
Arthur swims far beneath the surface as he is able to and encounters Princess Mera, who follows him to the world of land. Though he doesn't see Mera watching him from behind the rocks. She follows him to the surface and sees his abilities with the water.
Mera reports that two Atlantans are on land to the son of Orvax who in turn tells his father, causing him to create a title wave in anger.
Mera goes back to land to warn Arthur and his parents after checking for human casualties. Arthur has to remember his training once he learns that the son wants to challenge him to the throne or otherwise threatens to enslave his parents.
The story takes place after the attack on Baby Arthur and his family.
Ch. 1 Rough Waters
Atlanna held the crying toddler as Tom cleaned up the broken glass and wood.
"How could I have been so foolish to think that Orvax wouldn't come for me?"
"Don't go blaming yourself Atlanna, you have a right to freedom and happiness," Tom said as he dumped the broken glass from the dustpan to the trash can.
"You know what we have to do?" Atlanna said with suggestion in her voice.
"Yeah. Gotta sell this tower and pack up for another town. I can get a new job and we can get a good price on the lighthouse."
Little Arthur wrapped his small arms around his mother's neck then whimpered as he laid his head on her shoulder.
"I'm a danger to you both I must go back," Atlanna insisted.
" No, you are the glue bonding this family together. The real problem is that we live right off the sea where you were attacked, if we live in-land we can go undetected, " Tom insisted as he collected the wooden planks from the blasted wooden walls.
"The sea is apart of me and apart of him. We need the water."
"Well that's no problem. We can move to a town with a pond or a lake, just as long as its freshwater and not saltwater."
"Ok. You've convinced me but Arthur will have to be trained to fight in the Atlantean way. I'll need the help of a faithful advisor; a day make come when Atlanta finds him."
"Whatever will keep you happy. I just want us to be together," Tom said.
Later in the evening Tom and Atlanna patched up the missing walls and then disposed of the dead Atlantean soldiers. In the morning Tom set out looking for a realtor and moved the family to a hotel while he repaired the lighthouse. It was a couple weeks in the hotel before Atlanna and Tom found a house in Sweet Water, two hours north of Amnesty Bay.
"Oh Tom, it's perfect! It's right on the lake. It feels just like the light house!" she said looking at the tranquil water around the cabin.
"See. I told you that I could find a place that felt like home."
"This family is our home. Nothing in the entire seven seas could replace that," she said before giving Tom a deep kiss.
Their small son clapped his hands and kicked out his legs excitedly.
"You love it too champ?" Tom chuckled before ruffling the toddler's hair.
"Wa-Wa," Arthur said pointing down to the lake and causing a small part of the water to swirl.
The next few days Arthur entertained himself by running around the house while his parents cleaned and moved in.
The house was a sturdy cabin lined with beautiful limestone and insulated Oakwood. The base of the large cabin sat on top of cemented stones that kept the cabin anchored to land when storms came. Right off the front step there was a paved footpath that led to the boardwalk.
Atlanna hummed to the radio as she moved about the living room, unaware that Arthur was watching the footpath the entire time.
Arthur looked back at his mother and then the path before toddling over the threshold. His sienna ringlets blew in the wind as he made his way down the stone pavement.
