Note: This is just my own opinion on how they first met, don't judge me.
It was a beautiful day in the gloomsville forest, at an open space in the forest, walking on an old trail was a skeleton known as Skull Boy, he went on a camping trip to go and get some fresh air, and to also take some pictures of the some wildlife that lived here.
Skull Boy right now was looking for some firewood to make a campfire just in case if it gets chilly, after a minute of searching, he was able to find some perfectly fresh firewood from near a big tree in the woods.
"This will work." Skull Boy said as he got the firewood from off the ground, but before he could leave with the fire wood, he then heard a thud that came from the distance, Skull Boy got curious about this and decided to see where that noise came from, after a while of searching, he appeared at the bottom of a hill and was surprised by what he saw.
At the bottom of a hill, lying down on the ground, was a young red haired girl, she had her hand on her forehead, had another hand on her ankle and had a painful expression on her face.
From what Skull Boy saw, he thought that this girl was running and she somehow accidentally tripped herself, he then went toward the girl and dropped beside her to check if she's okay.
"Are you alright there miss?" Skull boy asked the red haired girl while she was still in pain.
"I-I don't know." She said as her hand was still on her head, it pounded like something very hard smacked her on the head, from what Skull Boy saw, this must've been serious.
So he gently moved her hand away from her head and checked to see if she had any bumps or cracks on her head, but there weren any which was a good sign. "There doesn't seem to be any cracks or bumps on your head."
"That's a good." The girl said as the pain on her head started to subsided, her expression then changed back to normal, she then opened her eyes and took some deep calming breaths.
"You feeling better?" Skull Boy asked wearingly
"Yeah I think so." The red haired girl said to Skull Boy, he got on his feet and tried to help her up by giving her his hand, but as she got on both of her feet as he held onto his hand, she gasped and fell onto her knees, holding her ankle and her expression was filled with agony.
"Miss?" Skull Boy then knelt back down next to her. "What's wrong?"
"My ankle hurts, I twisted it when I fell." The girl said as she looked at her ankle.
"Don't worry," Skull Boy said to the girl as he got up on his feet. "I'll go and get the first aid kit".
So Skull Boy then quickly went back to the campsite, retrieved a plastic red case and brought it back to the red haired girl.
The young skeleton carefully helped the red haired girl sit down on a tree stump and got down to take a look at her ankle. "Okay, I'm going to need you to take off your stocking so that I can take a look at your ankle." He informed to the red haired girl
She then did as he informed and slipped off her black shoe, then she rolled down her bright yellow and red stripped stocking, Skull Boy then gently took her ankle gently in his hands, he saw that her ankle wasn't swollen, but there was still deep gash that was still bleeding, suggesting that she must cut it or something.
"It doesn't look so bad," He said to her. "We just need to clean the cut, wrap some gauze around it, and it'll be good as new."
The girl nod her head at Skull Boy, he then opened the first aid kit and got out some cotton balls, some rubbing alcohol, and some white gauze.
He first cleaned the cut by using some of the cotton balls and some of the rubbing alcohol, he squeezed the red haired girl's hand reassuringly when she flinched and tried to pull her leg away.
After he finished cleaning the cut, he then retrieved a roll of white, stretchy gauze and wrapped a few layers gently over her scarred ankle.
"And there," Skull Boy announced as he gently pulled the material to check its tightness. "That should be good enough, once you stay off it for while, it'll feel good as new."
The red haired girl looked down at her ankle and felt that it didn't hurt as much as it did earlier, the red haired girl smiled at the kind act that Skull Boy did for her. "Thank you," She said to Skull Boy.
"Your welcome." Skull Boy said to the red haired girl, he heard some thunder that was from the sky, he and the red haired girl saw the sky and saw that dark clouds were forming.
"Uh oh," Skull Boy said uncomfortably as he looked at the sky. " looks like it's about to rain."
The girl then started to feel uncomfortable too. "Then it looks like we better find shelter, and fast." The girl said looking at Skull Boy.
Skull Boy was looking through his binoculars to try and find some shelter they can use to get out of the rain, he then found a cave that was a mile away from them, it was going to be hard for him and the girl to get to cave since her ankle was injured.
So that's when he got the perfect solution. "Okay, hope you have a good grip." He said in determination.
The girl raised one of her eyebrows in confusion. "What do you mean?" She asked the skeleton
Suddenly, he slipped one arm around her back, another on her knees and lifted her into his grasp. The girl gasped and instinctively clung to him. She was shocked at how he was carrying her, but the she shook her shock off and made sure she held onto him tight.
"You feeling okay?" Skull Boy asked as he was holding her.
"Yeah I think so." The girl said while holding tight onto Skull Boy.
"Then it's time we better get to shelter and fast!" And as soon as Skull Boy said that, he then quickly carried Ruby all the way to the cave that was a mile away.
The red haired girl was surprised at how strong Skull Boy was, given to the fact that he was all bones, her surprise was replaced by another feeling, her cheeks then started to turn into a shade of red at how brave Skull Boy was being for her even though h just met her.
After a mile of running, they were able to get safely to the cave, Skull Boy and the red haired girl were soaked when they got inside, Skull Boy then gently placed the girl on the floor of the cave, managed to find some fore wood and used two sticks together to create a fire.
The red haired girl was getting a little cold after getting soaked in the rain, so she gently went to the fire and got herself warm. "Thanks for helping me out there, sir." The red haired girl said to Skull Boy.
"It's no problem." Skull boy said as he smiled. "So, what's your name?"
"I'm Ruby, Ruby Gloom." The girl said as she introduced herself as Ruby. "What's yours?"
"I'm Skull Boy, I don't really know much about my name or where I came from, so my friends just call me Skull Boy." The skeleton said to while introducing himself to Ruby. "So how did you end up at the bottom of that hill?"
Ruby started to feel sad when he asked at question, remained silent and turned away from Skull Boy.
"Oh sorry," He said after he thought he made her feel worse. "I didn't mean to ask that."
"It's alright, you don't have to worry." Ruby said reassuring him that he's fine. "It was just an accident."
Skull Boy smiled at how nice Ruby was being to him, normally no one that he meets is ever this nice to him, after a while of getting along, it was now night time and Ruby and Skull Boy were sleeping on different sides of the bed, Skull Boy was on the left, and Ruby was on the right.
Skull Boy woke up when he started to hear someone shivering, he saw on the right side of the cave was Ruby, only she shivering because of the cold wind that came inside the cave.
He didn't want her to catch a cold, so he quietly went to Ruby to sleep next to her, she then tossed herself to where Skull Boy was and got close to where her chest touched his, causing Ruby to stop shaking and smiled.
Skull Boy blushed a little after Ruby got closer to him, after he wrapped his arms around Ruby, he saw how close he was to Ruby's face and how he saw how gorgeous that she looked when sleeping.
He then smiled sweetly and hugged Ruby. "Goodnight Ruby." After he wished her goodnight, the two of them then fell asleep in each other's arms and kept themselves warm during the night.
And so, after Skull Boy was done with his trip, he let Ruby stay with him and his friends at his home in a victorian styled mansion since Ruby didn't have any other place to stay for a while, and they also developed secret feelings for each other.
