"ameia, I don't want you to get hurt" link insisted as she turned the bath on and began stripping out of her clothes in front of him. he had to snap himself out of his own mind to look at her and once again pursue her
"Please just let me help you."
"Link, you're so sweet, but I don't need any help, I promise I'm okay." As she slowly but surley slipped into the bath. Link let out a sigh of relief seeing her okay. He put the toilet seat sown so he could sit on it and rest a hand on his knee so he could watch her in adoration as the tension and stress of the 2 surgery's she performed that day leave her body.
She opened her eyes and slid her arms up slightly thay were resting on either side of the tub. She met his pale blue eyes and lazily questioned "you wanna join me?"
to this he smiled and began removing his clothes and normally, Amelia would feel excited and sexy but tonight, she just wanted to be with him and know she wasn't alone. she soon felt him slide into the bath across from her and she opened her eyes and smiled at the man she saw. It had been months, but it still left amelia shocked every day how incredible this man was, it was common she had to pinch herself to remind herself how lucky she is to be with him and his adoration for her.
They moved to arrange their legs comfortably and link slid his hand to hold the one opposite of his. For a while they lay comfortably in eachothers presence. links thumb running soothing circles in the back of amelias hand in the bliss of it all.
It only lasted a few minuets when link heard a faint sniffle and when he looked up, he was shocked and his face contorted in worry. He sits up abruptly spashing water out of the bath but too caught up in his hurt girlfriend to care. He gently holds the back of her arms to help her sit up so they are both criss crossed in front of eachother.
"Baby, whats wrong?" Link knew she had lost a patient today, but he didn't know that patient had a toddler waiting for their mom to come back. The whole case had completely shattered Amelia and made her question everything about the tiny human growing in her . She explained this to link through tears. Once he understood, he wrapped his arms around her shivering frame and tucked a stand of wet hair behind her ear and just held her. His head rest in her neck and her sniffles were muffled by his chest where her head lay. they sit in silence for a few minuets when link hears a muffled
"I don't think I'm going to be a good mom, I just- I'm not ready to raise a baby..." as she said this she lifted up her head from his chest examining his face trying to comprehend how he was feeling.
He began with a kiss to her sweaty forehead and looked in her eyes with furrowed brows and eyes filled to the brim with tears as he stroked her wet hair in silence, as he tried to find the right way to reassure her.
"Amelia I- I love you. I've seen how this little boy has changed you. You fell in love with him amelia, so I know you're scared, I am too. I'm terrified for him to be here, but I know It'll be okay, and we'll work it out togehter."
Her eyes welled with tears, feeling his love surround her like an warm blanket, she wasn't alone. She felt like a scared puppy all the same time. she was growing a human, how were they supposed to do this?
"So... we're gonna do this?" She timidly questioned, gripping his hand tighter.
"We are and I ... am not going anywhere. You will be okay and I will be with you the whole time, we'll raise him together. Our boy is okay, our family is okay, alright?"
She nodded, shaking her head to rid of her fast falling tears. She met his eyes to whisper a timid "thank you." he simply leaned in closer and rest a hand against her cheek and leaned his forehead against her and whispered "I love you so much." The few words he spoke calmed all of her fears, her family was okay.
