It was night time in Cardiff and Joanna was in bed asleep when she suddenly heard the front door open then close again, but the way she was trained she knew to stay still and slide her hand under her pillow where she kept a gun, the next thing she hears are foot steps coming up the stairs but even then she still didn't move, the only time she moved was when she heard the person coming into the bedroom then she got up and aimed her gun at him only to realise that it was her long lost husband Captain Jack Harkness.
"Jack," she said in surprise, "how did you find me?"
"Joanna are you forgetting that no matter were in the world or the universe you are I can feel you, more to the point when did you get back?" Jack asked her.
"Yeah I kinda forgot about that, and I got back a few weeks ago I just didn't want to bother you." Joanna answered.
"Look now your back I have a proposal for you, if you want it can wait till morning." Jack said to her.
"Yeah that would be better we both need our sleep Jack." Joanna replied.
With that Jack joined Joanna in bed and cuddled up to her like he used to before they got split up, after the Doctor took Joanna with him and left Jack behind.
The day that Joanna returned to Cardiff was because she was so down after the Doctor left Jack on The Game Station after Rose brought him back, they always wondered why she was so down so one day rose spoke to Joanna about it then she informed the Doctor and he dropped her back to Cardiff so she could be happy again.
In the morning Joanna was up early making some coffee for herself and Jack when he came down the stairs.
"Morning Jo, how you feeling this morning?" He asked her.
"Morning to you Jack, I'm good, I had the best nights sleep, I haven't had one of them for ages. Yourself?" She replied
"I'm better now your home Jo, like you I havent had a good night sleep for a while but when I join you its a lot better. I love you Jo, any way about my proposal I have you want to know what it is." Jack said.
As she looked round at him and placed a cup of coffee while they discussed the proposal then to his surprise she accepted the job he had offered her she officially became a Torchwood officer and second in command.
