Beautiful angel

"Please, mom! Leave them alone!" Mal stood protectively of her friends and spread her arms in front of them. Maleficent faced her, with a devilish grin on her face, pointing her wand on her daughter. Mal knew that they were alone. That nobody could help them because everyone was petrified. That they had no chance against the evil witch. Carlos, Jay, and Evie stood behind her and hadn't moved a step. And Mal was grateful for that. They could have run away. To be able to leave her alone, but they hadn't.

"I can't use you for anything anymore, Mal. And your little fools no longer there. You failed, Mal, and you're against me too. But nobody, you hear, nobody stops me!" Mal stood still, knowing that if it happened now, they would all die together. And that thought reassured her. They had become a family. But at least she wanted to try it. At least try to save their friends.

"It's something between you and me, mom! Let the others out of there!" Maleficent grinned wickedly. She had an incredible amount of fun.

"I'll tell you how it's going. I'll kill you. And then every single one of your pathetic friends." Mal looked briefly at the other three. They looked determined, only a little fear flashed in Evie's eyes. Mal had to smile slightly. For the first time, she had learned what friendship meant. And she was so grateful to them for that. Jay nodded to her, Evie smiled and Carlos ... Mal had never seen him so determined. Evie squeezed her hand. Everyone knew that they would die together now. But together it didn't seem so bad anymore. Mal looked at her mother and proudly raised her chin. Maleficent grinned and pointed the wand at her daughter. Mal closed her eyes for a moment and then opened them again. And then everything happened at the same time. At that moment, Mal has pushed aside and landed on the ground, as did Evie and Jay. For a moment she was completely confused until Evie suddenly screamed like a stick. Jay gasped in amazement and Mal also shrieked when she saw what was going on in front of her eyes. Carlos stood in front of them. The green light from the wand hit him right in the heart, but it emanated from Carlos as a bright, golden light. Maleficent seemed completely confused and the three of them couldn't believe their eyes either. What was happening right now? At the next moment, the light shot back at Maleficent. She cried out. Screeched right. More and more light emanated from the DeVil boy and slowly it became too bright. Mal covered her eyes and at that moment Maleficent crumbled to dust. Carlos's light went out and he fell motionless to the ground. Evie was the first to break the freeze and crawl to Carlos. She carefully turned him over on his back.

"Carlos?", she whimpered softly. Mal did not understand anything anymore. Jay also ran to him and tapped his cheek lightly.

"Come on, Carlos. Wake up!" Evie put a hand over her mouth and started to sob.

"Come on!", Jay hissed through clenched teeth. Mal no longer knew what to feel. She knew Carlos could never have survived this magic. But at the same time, she couldn't accept it. That meant that Carlos had left and she didn't want to accept that. Evie cried quietly to herself and at the next moment Jay let out a loud roar. Mal quickly crawled to Carlos. She had to check it herself. She slapped his cheek, shook his body, but he no longer opened his eyes. At that moment she felt a hand on her shoulder.

"Fairy Godmother." There were infinite grief and pain in her eyes and that made Mal angry. He wasn't dead! He couldn't be dead!

"How was that possible?", Jay asked in a broken voice while Evie was crying continuously. The Fairy Godmother sighed.

"The love in his heart was stronger than any strength from Maleficent. But he had to give up his life for that." Her voice was full of pity. But that didn't bring Carlos back. That was not possible! The pain in Mal's heart was unbearable. Her little brother, her best friend. Just go away. Forever. Jay hugged Evie and cried with her. Mal looked at Carlos' face. His eyes were closed, his mouth slightly open. He had given his life. For them. He was braver than Mal thought. He had so much love in his heart. The Fairy Godmother swung her wand and the people around them awoke from their rigidity. But the three friends no longer noticed this. They heard only occasionally horrified gasps and sobs. Mal felt her heart broken. Carefully, she took Carlos' head, put him against her chest and hugged him tightly. The heat slowly disappeared from his body. Tears stung Mal's eyes and she didn't hold them back. And then she started screaming. She screamed like never before in her life. But the pain didn't get any less. It was quiet in the hall, only the painful screams of Mal cut through the silence. It was excruciating pain and Mal knew that it would never go away. At some point, it would get better, but it would never go away completely. She never thought that friendship could hurt so much. He was a family. They had been through so much together and Carlos' life ended here now. It was so incredibly unfair and painful. Mal knew he would always be with them. By memory. By love, they felt for him. He would never die in their hearts. But it was an incredibly terrible pain that could not go away with anything. Mal was shouted until she had no voice. But the pain and the broken heart remained. Mal had prepared that they would die together. But this was more painful than anything else. But Carlos would never be forgotten. The light that he had carried within himself and brought into the world would continue to shine. The love he had spread would never go away. The wonderful soul he had would never be forgotten. No way.

In loving memory of Cameron Boyce, who was torn out of our lives too early at 20. We will never forget his beautiful soul and the light that he brought into this dark world. Life is not fair and took him too soon from all of us and it hurts a lot. We will miss him very much and will always carry him in our hearts. The memory keeps him alive. Rest in peace, my angel 💔
