Sonic-X: Lost In The Crowd.
Authors Note: Hi, SuperTailsFan0812 checking in with my 14th Sonic X fanfic.
Just to let all of you know that I have been quite sick this week. But I am doing a little better but still not yet.
As all of you know, I posted a poll on my profile debating if I should write this story first or another and this story had won so I will write this fanfic first.
This fanfic is about when the gang goes shopping to get some food and the Mobians could get whatever they wanted but something happens. I know that Tails gets quite anxious in the public and I thought maybe I could write when Tails gets lost in the crowd. I thought this idea while writing my other stories.
This may be another one of my emotional stories but I will try my best to make it both emotional but enjoyable.
I just hope that this story will go well. I actually did get lost before and I was crying. I really hope that doesn't happen to me again. :(
Okay, enough talking about me back to the authors note.
This story may be distressing and emotional so just a warning for that and hope it doesn't make you upset. It may make me cry, but I will try not too.
Anyways, these author's Note is getting long, it is time to get on with this story

Lost In The Crowd
It was in the middle of the afternoon. Everyone was out in the mall for the day to get some shopping done.
Chris was holding Tails' hand to make sure he was okay and secured. Chris knew that Tails was very very shy when out in public.
Tails whimpered a little as he walked with Chris. "C-C-Chris?" Tails asked.
Chris gently smiled before he squeezed Tails' hand. "Yes, Tails? Is everything okay?" Chris asked tenderly, making sure he was speaking softly to not scare Tails and to keep him comfortable.
Tails was looking around warily and nervously. "I am starting to get scared now." Tails whispered.
Chris rubbed Tails' hand softly to try and gently assure him. "It's okay Tails. I know you're scared but we'll protect you." Chris assured.
Tails began to calm down now. By the sound of his voice, he felt very very very safe.
Ella smiled before telling, "Okay everyone, you can get whatever you want. It is up to you. But when you are finished, meet us at the food court and try to stick together so you won't get lost." Ella explained.
"Got it!" Everyone nodded before they split up going in different directions.
Tails slowly let go of Chris' hand before gesturing about going on his own. "Chris? I may want to try and go by myself for a bit as I want to buy some personal things that I am nervous to show you." Tails explained.
Chris was shocked but mostly concerned by this. He actually was worried as Tails is still a bit shy around the crowd. "Tails, are you sure you're going to be okay by yourself?" Chris asked, concerned about the young fox.
Tails nodded and hugged Chris. "Yeah. I just want to try and be brave." Tails explained.
Chris looked apprehensive before nodding. "Okay Tails, just please be safe." Chris told the young fox as he sent Chuck and Ella a text message explaining.
Chris then handed Tails half of his money before ruffling his hair. "Have fun and after you are finished, meet us at the food court." Chris told the young fox.
Tails nodded before he went off on his own and went to a medical store to pick up a few things before going to a hardware shop to get some pieces, and paints for the X-Tornado.
Tails then walked over to a candy shop and brought some mint candy and chocolate.
Tails finally went into a special shop that contained special model kits and had a look in there. Tails had picked out three, a model of a jet plane, starship and a model of a bi-plane.
But when Tails went out of the shop, things went of good to bad.
Tails suddenly looked around and he was lost and he couldn't find the others at all. The crowd was huge. Instantly, panic took over him. Tails began hyperventilating as he looked everywhere around the crowd but then still didn't see them.
Tails began to break down sobbing as he looked around the crowd.
Tails was frozen, he had never in this situation before and he was absolutely terrified, frightened, but mostly petrified.
"GUYS!" Tails cried, still sobbing heavily while running around the crowd to find his friends.
Tails began sobbing loudly and tried to search around the crowd.
"GUYS! Where are you?!" Tails sobbed as he ran with his shopping bags.
Tails then remembered Ella telling them to meet her at the food court but he was too frightened to move at all.
It was all a blur for Tails, the first minute he was shopping and the next, he was lost in the crowd.
Tails began shaking more, he didn't know what to do at all. He was worried that he would be lost forever.
Tails could hear insults inside his head about his past and this caused him to be even more frightened. "Make it stop!" Tails sobbed.
Tails began shaking, hyperventilating and sobbing even more. Tails had never been so frightened before.
After a full few seconds of searching, Tails dropped to his knees and buried his face in his hands. "GUYS! I'M SCARED! WHERE ARE YOU?!" Tails sobbed.
Tails saw the crowds coming so he curled himself in his tails and trembled, hoping that someone had found him. Because due to his extreme shyness, he was too scared to ask for help.
"Please, Chris, Sonic, Chuck, Amy, Ella, Mr Tanaka, Cream, please come back to me." Tails spoke crying still.
As Tails was lost, Everyone else was at the food court.
Ella looked around. "Okay, I think we are all here," Ella spoke.
Chris gasped as he remembered that Tails is still not here, "We are missing Tails. He must be still in that crowd!" Chris realises.
Everyone began to really worry about Tails since he was completely shy and is quite scared in public spaces so that meant he knew what Ella said but was just too frightened to move or do anything.
Ella was worried. "Oh, poor dear! He must be so frightened when he realised that he was lost that he forgot what I told him." Ella spoke.
Sonic felt so worried too. "I hope Tails is coping this okay, he could be somewhere that far away," Sonic spoke. "And he is probably freaking out right now."
Chris nodded. "We must find Tails! Because of his shyness, Tails is probably too scared to move or do anything." Chris spoke.
They nodded before beginning to search for Tails while shouting his name.
Suddenly, they heard a familiar voice cry. "GUYS! WHERE ARE YOU?!" They heard a voice cry out in terror.
"Tails! It's okay! We are coming!" Chris called, hoping that Tails can hear him. It was no good, Chris was too far away for Tails to hear him.
They searched for Tails all over the mall and in every store. After about an hour, they are about to lose hope but then...
Chris spots Tails trembling in fright and felt so bad for the young fox. "Guys, I have found Tails!" Chris called.
Everyone then gathered around Tails before they apprehended that Tails was too scared to notice them.
Chris gently rubbed Tails' back. It's okay Tails we are right here." Chris gently assured.
Tails shut his eyes and sobbed harder, he was so scared. "GUYS! GUYS! WHERE ARE YOU! I AM SCARED!" Tails sobbed.
He was scared, frightened but mostly petrified.
Sonic rubbed Tails' back in gentle and slow circles. "Tails, it's okay buddy, we are here right with you." Sonic soothed.
Chris gently squeezed Tails' hand before gently rubbing it in small circles. "It's okay Tails, it's okay. We are here right by you now." Chris spoke with tender care.
Amy, Cream, Chuck, Mr Tanaka and Ella were staring at them in worry.
Tails opened his teary eyes and saw Chris looking at him in relief and worry. "C-C-Chris? S-S-Sonic? G-G-Guys?" Tails asked.
Tails was still a little bit wary about what happened but everyone was trying to calm Tails down a bit.
"It's okay Tails. You're okay now," Chris promised.
Tails began shaking as his eyes welled up with fresh tears.
But before Chris could say something to calm him down, Tails had reached his most emotional breaking point.
Tails unexpectedly began sobbing even harder while hugging Chris, burying his face in his shoulder.
Chris gathered Tails in his arms and gently embraces the now hysterical sobbing kit.
Ella and Sonic clutched the shopping bags and agreed on to just go back home for Tails to calm down.
They quickly went to the car and then began their journey back home.
Tails kept sobbing, even though he was travelling home. Everyone was doing their best to try and calm Tails.
But as soon as they got in the mansion, Tails sobbed harder and fell on his knees while the others guided him to the couch to hug.
Chris gently laid Tails on his shoulder and allowed the young kit to cry on him. He felt guilty as If he did go with Tails when Tails told him he wanted to go on his own, then this wouldn't have happened.
Tails smiled but was still quite upset. "Guys! Guys!" Tails sobbed. "It was my fault." Tails sobbed.
Everyone was shocked, Tails was blaming himself for this. Everyone didn't know why Tails was blaming himself.
Chris laid his hand on Tails' back. "Tails, Tails. Please don't blame yourself, it wasn't your fault." Chris spoke.
Sonic smiled before stroking Tails' head. "Yeah, it's not your fault Tails. Why are you saying it's your fault?" Sonic gently asked.
Tails began to sob louder. "It is my fault Sonic! I should've listened to Chris. I just wanted to be not so shy in the crowds but I was wrong! PLEASE FORGIVE ME! PLEASE! PLEASE!" Tails sobbed.
Everyone was so sad and sympathetic for Tails, poor guy just wanted to be brave.
Chuck rubbed Tails' back softly"We are not mad Tails. We all didn't know it was going to happen." Chuck comforted.
Tails smiled at this but began shaking as the insults revolved in his head. He began sobbing more.
Tails hugged Chris and Chris tightly. "C-C-Chris S-S-S-Sonic G-G-Guys. W-w-w-w-while i-i-i-i was lost! T-T-T-There very mean insults that were in my head about my past! The voices were telling me I was a freak, mutant and other mean names!" Tails sobbed.
Everyone gasped loudly at this. Tails' past was haunting him again in the worst way ever. Everyone gathered around Tails to keep him comforted..
Tails was so scared about the whole thing that happened at the mall today and was worried it may happen again. "Guys, I don't want to be lost again!" Tails sobbed. "I don't think I can go through all of that again!"
Chris hugged Tails closer. "Don't worry Tails, you are safe with us now," Chris spoke softly.
"But Chris! I was so scared! I-I-I thought... I-I-I T-th-thought I was lost forever!" Tails sobbed.
Sonic felt so bad and hugged Tails more tightly. "I know Tails, I know. You're okay now." Sonic soothed.
Tails shakes his head before curling up in a ball on Chris' lap. "It's not okay! I was lost and I worried you all! I am so sorry! I want to meet you at the food court, I really did! But I was too scared to move!" Tails sobbed.
Chuck patted Tails' back. "I know Tails. It's okay." Chuck soothed.
Tails began crying more harsher, he was still extremely shaken up.
Chris hugged Tails more tightly and most gentleness. "Its okay Tails. It's going to be okay, we promise. I know that today had really traumatised you but you don't have to worry, we are all here with you to make sure that doesn't happen again." Chris soothed, "We love you so much Tails."
Tails began to calm down a bit, he was still shaken up but felt better by everyone being there for him and comforting him. "D-D-D-Do y-y-y-y-you r-r-r-really m-m-mean t-t-that?" Tails asked.
Everyone smiled and hugged Tails in a large group hug to make him feel more secured and happy.
Sonic smiled. "Of course buddy." Sonic gently spoke, rubbing Tails' head.
Chris smiled. "We will never lie to you Tails. You are special to us and we will never give up on you and we'll always protect you." Chris soothed, still lightly rubbing Tails' back.
Tails smiled as he finally managed to control himself and smiled while wiping away the tears from his eyes.
"Thank you so much for being here for me. I feel better now." Tails spoke in joy. "Next time we go to the mall and I will remember to go with someone like Chris and Sonic."
Chris smiled and gently ruffled Tails' hair, which was so soft. "It's okay Tails. We are always here to cheer you up and to always help you." Chris spoke.
Tails smiled before he began getting sleepy. Tails began yawning before rubbing his eyes.
Chris noticed this and smiled. "That's okay Tails. You can have a nap." Tails spoke.
Tails curled up in his tails and began softly snoring. Chris smiled at this. Tails is so adorable when he is curled up like that. He had seen normal foxes do that to keep themselves warm in winter.
Chris began to gently stroke Tails' head which caused the kit to start purring. Chris awed before rubbing Tails' back, causing Tails to purr loudly again. Chris smiled as he lets Tails sleep.
Once Tails had woken up from his nap, They decided to watch a movie together and they will always be there for Tails.

Authors Note: Yay! I think this story turned out better than I thought. I love all the Chris and Tails scenes in the show.
I think the emotion when Tails was lost in the crowd was quite well written and quite emotional too. I know what it is like to get lost. As I did get lost when I was younger but I am okay.
I love Chris giving affection to Tails as there aren't many of those moments in the show. Tails' purring is so cute.
I give this about an 8 out of 10. I could do some improvements but I still did the best of my ability.
I loved the part when Tails receives comfort from his friends. He is so shy and needs so much love from his friends.
Next fanfic will be my easter Special fanfic, I know, I originally was going to upload it first but since I finished this one, I wanted to upload this one early
Anyways, I really hope you enjoyed this one-shot and I will see you in the next one.
