Toomai has a long lost little brother, who was born sometime after Toomai of the Elephants was finished. His name: Vijaya. Toomai and Vijaya's dad and mother, plus their paternal grandparents were murdered by the mastermind Loofa at last, leaving them the last ones standing. Before that, little Vijaya, about three and a half years old, got abandoned by his parents, as they thought he was ugly.
A week later, a black panther leopard named Kamala, the grandniece of Bagheera, found him. She growls with joy. Vijaya then carries her tail in a hurry.
