For a certain girl today is just a normal day scavenging ship for food, or it is what she thought when she woke up this morning.
But now she will say it is not, it is her happiest day. It is start when she found a Republic cruiser in good condition, untouch by the other scavenger. She wondering why she just found it now, but then she remembered yesterday this place is a big sand dune and there is storm last night. She said to herself that must be the cause, the strong winds moved the sands. How lucky I am. While she trying to look for an entry, her minds start calculating how many portions she could get from this cruiser. Seeing the cruiser not yet touch since the day it is crash, which means lot of expensive parts are still there maybe one thousand portions at least she calculating. That means rationss for three years. Time she can do many things Time enough to do other work that had been long neglected. Time enough to relax and rest her bones. Time enough for—leisure was a word that had long ago been dropped from her vocabulary.
Back to reality, she focus herself to find the entry point because if she not find it now before the other come, the one thousand ration dream just stay a dream. She close her eyes trying to calm her mind, then almost instantly something come to her mind telling to dig the sands below the back part of the ship. Not only that she feel a push to do it. She walk straight guided by the pull, then start digging. After a while, jackpot! There is, a big hole from ion canon. Big enough for her. She enter and start scavenging, she prioritize all the small but expensive parts first, as much as her bag can hold. After whole day back and forth scavenging and hiding her finding she calls it a day. Even though it is hard for her to leave but she knows for sure she couldn't get more than what she can protect. It is better few than a lot but in risk she lost everything robbed by the other. She could return tomorrow and if she lucky no one notice it she could continue. Even if it is not the case she already get all the most valuable part. But when she about to step out suddenly another feeling coming to her, a strong push. It is telling her to explore the ship deeper. She did not know why but she follow. She just let the feeling guide her, then she enter a big room. Lot of beds also skeletons, this must be the dorm she tought. Then she saw a bag and the feeling told her to get it. Once she get it, the feeling vanish. Confusing she felt. Did not want to waste more time she immediately get out of the ship, dig out all the parts she hide and get it to her speeder. When she see the sun still high, she tought there is still time to reach unkar shop before she closed.
Inside the AT-AT she called home, she counting all the rations she got from the parts she sold to unkar. She arrived just in time to the niman outpost, not only that not many people there, in fact no one there, considering the time is the time for everybody to went back home already. How lucky she is today, no one saw her with lot of parts and exchange it with tons of rations. She got 1422 and quarter rations, more than she can ever imagine. She need to rest now she decide and woke up early to continue scavenging the ship tomorrow before somebody else notice the ship.
When she arrived there again the fourth morning, she found lot of speeders parked outside the ships but it is not bother her. She already got almost all valuable part and total 3169 rations for the last three day. She called it a day and return to the place she called it home. Upon her return something remind her about the bag she took in the first day, to busy she forgot about it. She reach the bag and found holopad, it is still in very good condition, but no power, after decades the battery must be out. A strong feelings suddenly comes to her, pushing her to fix the holopad and open it. After a bit modification she connect the holopad to the power outlet, waiting for a while then she turn it on.
She browse the holopad and find lot of things there: movies, novels, comics and books. She start to open it and unknown to her day become week and week become month. When she finish everything it is already 3 months, which not bother her, she had rations enough for 10 years or if she still scavenging once a time and manage it well it will last until her parents return. She hoped. But she still thinking about all the thing she watch and read, the holopad contain the history according to the rebel which bit different with what she learn from the computers in star destroyer but what is caught her attention is the stories about jedi, about the force. it is intrigue her, she knows little about Jedi it is some kind of a myth, a bedtime stories, but what in the holopad make it real, about how Luke Skywalker, the hero of rebbelion, killed the palpatine and defeat the empire.
All she reads amaze her and make her wondering if she also force sensitive? There is nothing wrong trying she told herself. She try to imitate jedi, focus her mind and trying to lift up her tool box the first object come to her eyes, she close her eyes and concentrate, she try to picture it, then, she saw something like a lights and she feel the tool box which very familiar for her she grab it in her mind and she open her eyes she see it weakly moving she concentrate more and it now shakily flying, she concentrate more and it soar higher, she try more then something happens, a lightings come from her fingers and destroy the tool box. She got shocked but she more excited, "I did it" she scream and start jumping while clamping her hands giving applause for herself. That means force is real! She is force sensitive! She could do many things! She could she her parents again!
Seeing her parents again? She asking herself. Yeah why not trying she told herself. Now she sit in the posture she saw the jedi in the comics do when they meditating. She focus her mind trying to remember the last memory she had with her parents. She focus her self and trying to move all the force around her, she try to talk to the force she want meet her parents. She request them to allow her to meet their parents. She picture the only memories she had about her parents to the force, she project it to the force.
The static starting building up around her, lighting comes not from the sky but from the AT-AT she called home toward the sky. A blue lightings angrily dancing. From thousand kilometres peoples can see the turbulation, lightings upon lightings attacking the skies. And then it stop and the dessert become calm again .
The girl open her eyes and saw two figures inside a ship telling her "Our little rey, we love you, remember don't tell anyone you are a palpatine, we will return" the ship keep moving farther and ascending to the sky.
The girl named Rey before can register what happening saw her parents leave her again, for the second time in her life she broken hearted.
She missed her parents by a second.
One thing she knows that her parents is not nobody, and she also not nobody she is a Palpatine, Rey Palpatine. A familiar name, but she couldn't recall what is significant with Palpatine but she knew it is something very important, she try to reach the holopad that she founds months ago for confirmation. But then what she saw shock her, why her hands become so small and the AT-AT she called home are different, it is the same but it is in the original condition before she modified it for years, and she found a doll, a very good doll not a worn out doll she saw last time. Then it selfit her mind now, she time traveling to her five years old self.
But all exciment go down with the reality she late. She missed her parents by second. Make up her mind, once again she meditate focus her mind, and asking the force to bring her farther back so she will not missed her parents again, she asked the force to bring her to her parents homeworld. She concentrate more, she push the force harder. For the second time tribulation started around her, for thousands miles in Jakku peoples saw a strange lighting storm, not from the skies but from surface attacking the skies.
The girl open her eyes and saw green thing all around her. She closed her eyes again, she feel so tired and want to sleep, she close her eyes. She feel something moving her, she open her eyes and she see aman with brown graying hair with a blue eyes and beard above of her. He wearing a strange clothes she saw only saw in holopad.
She feel so tired and wanted to close her eyes again, then the man look at her, her face is kind, she asking her "what is your name little one?"
She weakly answered "Palpatine, Rey Palpatine" then she couldn't hold it any longer, she closed her eyes again and heard other voice shouting "Master be hurry, the droids aare near, we need to escort the Queen to the senate safely. Oh, who is the little girl in your arm?" Then all darkness.
This is my attempt to writes fanfic stories about Rey which not involved Ben/kylo. Why most the fanfic stories about Rey is their romance?
My main inspiration comes from JacobApples stories: The Queen Does Not Need to Know.
Don't expect updates any time soon, I still in dillema with the plot. I thinking either to make it dark with the ending Rey become the Empress who founded the Galactic Empire not her grandfather or following the common plot of time travel fanfic where Rey correct what is wrong and become hero, or maybe become sort of anti-hero.
No pairing, be honest I saw Rey as a friendzoning type girl. There is not enough chemistry between her and Ben, and she look like keeping Finn and Poe close but also keeping distance from them.
