Chapter 1:
Mistheart walked outside in the warm summer air to her mail box. The sun was high in the sky and made you sweat right away. Mistheart had been waiting for the letter that accepted her into Thunder University. Mistheart didn't know what Thunder University was, just that she wanted to get into a cheap college. Mistheart's best friend, Aspenfern, had also applied to attend Thunder University. On the application form, Mistheart hadn't seen any boxes to check for which major you wanted to take, but she had just assumed that you chose when you got the accepttance letter.
Mistheart opened the red mailbox on her front lawn. Inside were four letters, and a magazine. Mistheart took all five items out of the mailbox, and went inside her small house. Mistheart set the items on the wooden table and sat down in her favorite chair. She sorted through the letters.
Bills, a letter from Grandma, child support, Thunder University! Mistheart opened the letter, tearing the envelope in the process.
Mistheart,
You have been accepted into Thunder University. Please don't bring any electronics (phone, ipad, tablet etc.) Please bring this acceptance form, clothes, toiletries, (no money needed), and hunting supplies. Come to the train station at noon on the Fourth of September. There, you will board the train that will take you, and other students, to the University.

Mistheart was shocked by what the second scentence said. I can't bring my phone? What kind of school is this? Mistheart thought. She sighed. She was perplexed by what the letter said, though. Hunting supplies? Mistheart shrugged. She was accepted into an entirely free University. Mistheart heard a sound at the door. It was unlocked and Mistheart's mother, Sorrelheart, came into the house. Sorrelheart looked tired and weary from a long day at work.
"How was your day, Mom?" Mistheart asked Sorrelheart.
"It could have been better." Sorrelheart sighed and put her stuff on the couch.
"Guess what?" Mistheart said.
"What?" Sorrelheart asked.
"I got accepted into Thunder University!" Mistheart said excitedly.
"That's great!" Sorrelheart exclaimed happily.
"Look at the letter, though." Mistheart said and picked it up. She showed it to
Sorrelheart, who, after reading, had a furrowed brow.
"What a peculiar school." Sorrelheart said and put her hands on her hips. "What do you say about pizza fot dinner to celebrate?"
"That would be great." Mistheart said and hugged her mother.
