In the olden days, there were men and women that stood up and fought in order to protect humans and faunus from each other and the grimm. Many people never heard of them because there were so few of them. Though they were few in number, just one of them could take on thousands of grimm or humans and not be tired. But sadly they slowly died out due to age, sickness or war.

This caused them to recruit people. But not just any people, kids to be more exact. They did this so that they could be more effective in training, combat and have a bond that could never be broken. They would finish their training when they were 17 and were better than most hunters by that point. When they graduated from training they would be introduced into their battalion.

But here we see one on a bullhead on his way to beacon academy. Why may you ask? Well it's because he was sent because they had pain come from a person that they were supposed to protect. A person that was one of their champions. A person they were supposed to protect.

Now here we see Jaune Greystone sitting on the bullhead with his eyes closed, trying not to puke. He was wearing brown combat boots, jeans, a black shirt on with a long sleeve white shirt on over it. His semi long blond shaggy hair and sapphire blue eyes.

Normally he would wear his armor but that was in the cargo hold with his other weapons. Well he also wouldn't be alone but he wanted this infiltration to work so he got to do it alone. His task was to find Amber, the fall maiden, and take her away from Ozpin. He would then call for extraction and head home.

He looked around the bullhead when the blasted thing was landing and saw some interesting people. A brute with a mace, a blondie with long hair, mistrals champion, a bloody Schnee, an ex-fang member trying to hide and the child of Summer Rose. This year was going to be great.

When the bullhead landed he got out and went to find his stuff. Before he could go far there was an explosion a few meters away from him. He went over to see the Schnee yell at Summer's child before walking away. He then went down into the crater to help the poor girl.

"Need a hand?" Jaune asked. The girl opened her eyes to see the blond guy from the bullhead. She took his hand as he helped her up. When she stood up she realized how tall and strong he was. He easily was taller than Yang and felt just as strong too from his hand pulling her up.

"Thanks." Ruby said.

"No problem Ms.Rose." Jaune replied as Ruby turned towards him.

"H how do you know my last name?" Ruby asked.

"Your mother talked about her children and how her daughter looked like her. She also talked about how one day she would bring her family to see mine." Jaune said. "Oh I forgot you don't know me. My name is Jaune Greystone. May I ask what your name is?"

"I'm Ruby Rose." Ruby said happily as they continued their walk. "So I have this." Ruby said as she implanted her weapon into the ground.

"A scythe that is a sniper by the looks of it." Jaune said. Ruby then freaked out because he knew what her weapon was. When asked what his weapon was he thought before responding. "I have my sword. It's called dawn breaker. (Skyrim dawn breaker). I have some other weapons but those are in my case or I didn't bring them."

"Ohh. What can it do?" Ruby asked.

"Sorry Ruby but that's a secret. Shiii…. we gotta get to the auditorium for the speech" Jaune said before running towards the auditorium. Ruby then was on his trail. When they entered Ruby was her sister she turned to Jaune.

"Oh there's my sister. Bye Jaune." Ruby said before going to her sister.

"Well that was one way of starting." Jaune said to himself. Jaune then listened to Ozpin talk and then went to the back corner of the room. He put a small bag down and went to the bathroom to change and get ready for bed.

When he came out, he was wearing shorts and a tank top with white shoes. He had a tattoo of a kite shield on his left shoulder and a sword on his right shoulder. There were also some tattoos sticking out of the front and back of the shirt. When he went to his spot he could feel people staring at him or at his tattoos. There was also a thin line wrapping around his left shoulder that no one could see.

"Hmm look at that hunk." Yang said as her eyes trailed a blond haired boy with tattoos.

"Yang really. Looking at boys is… that's Jaune!" Ruby said. "Hey Jugh!" Yang then jumped on top of Ruby and put her hand over her sister's mouth.

"Where and how did you meet him?" Yang questioned as she took her hand away from her sister's mouth.

"Really Yang. He helped me after you abandoned me and I blew up! He showed me the way here and traded what weapons we used." Ruby said poking her sister.

"Well go introduce me to him." Yang said as she slowly got up.

"No, Yang, wait." Ruby said as she tried to pull her sister back with no progress.

Jaune was sitting on his sleeping bag, reading an older book about medical herbs and potions. It was one of the many books he brought with him spoken in a dead language that was lost to the world. The only people he knew that spoke and wrote in this language were the people he was with for the last 10 years.

After a few minutes of reading a shadow looked over him. He looked up to see the Belladonna girl. "Mind if I sleep here tonight?"

"Yeah go ahead. Though you didn't have to ask." Jaune replied as the girl put down her stuff. "I'm Jaune Greystone."

"Blake Belladonna." Blake replied and said against the wall. Soon two more shadows appeared. Both looked up to see Ruby and her sister.

"Hey Jaune." Ruby said sheepishly as she waved to him. "This is my sister."

"I'm Yang Xiao Long." Yang said.

"Hello Yang. The name is Jaune Greystone." Jaune replied. Before he could say anything else he got a call. "Sorry girls but I gotta take this." Jaune got up and walked towards an empty hallway. When he got to where no one was, he answered his scroll. "T why are you using a scroll?"

"Shit hit the fan Jaune." The person called T said.

"What happened?" Jaune asked.

"What do you think." T stated.

"Tell me every single thing." Jaune said as his eyes turned black.

Next day

Jaune got up close to 6 am thanks to doing it for years while within the order. When he remembered what happened last night his face formed a frown. He got up, packed his stuff up and went to get breakfast. Luckily no one else was awake yet so he ate in silence while looking on at a document on his scroll.

When people started to enter the cafeteria, he got up and left. He didn't want anyone to see what he was reading or the people he was connected to. So he left to get his gear from his locker. Luckily no one was around so no one would see what he was able to bring.

He took his armor into a nearby bathroom and suited up. When he was done, he was wearing what looked to be knight armor. It was black with a gold dragon painted on the left shoulder, going to the back. With the visor color being gold, the armor looked like a battle between good and evil. He clipped his helmet to his side and exited the locker room to get his weapons from his locker.

When he got there, there were two girls in his way. One was Weiss Schnee from the bastard of a father. The other was Phyrra Nikos, Mistrals champion. It looked like they were going to try to team up.

"Excuse me girls but you're in front of my locker." Jaune said. The two girls looked at him in surprise.

"Sorry." Phyrra said before stepping back.

"Do you have any idea who that is?" Weiss asked with some attitude.

"She is Phyrra Nikos." Jaune said, grabbing his gun. "4 time champion of tournaments. And you are Weiss Schnee. And to be blunt I don't give a fuck. Fame means nothing on the battleground. If you want my respect, you earn it." Jaune said looking at Weiss before shutting his locker and leaving.

"Oh my gosh. Yang, did you see his armor!" Ruby said excitedly.

"No, I was looking at something else." Yang said. Of course Ruby didn't get it. As they were walking they stopped in front of Weiss and Phyrra.

"That was the armor of the chevaliers de l'épine or 'knights' as most people call them. They are trained from a young age to be the best. Rumor has it that one 'knight' or chevalier de l'epine can take down an entire atlas army. They are rated S- hunters even if they don't attend an academy." Ruby said. "And when they do attend it's because they get paid to and usually do work for the school for a short while."

"Wow." Yang said stunned. "Looks like Jaune is one." 'That makes me wanna see what he can do.'

"Initiation starts in 30 minutes. I repeat initiation starts in 30 minutes." An announcement said.

"Please he didn't seem like one of these 'knights'." Weiss scoffed as she walked away. If the three saw her face, they would have seen her face turn red.

'A knight. Here! How come I didn't recognize him.' Phyrra thought as she was walking towards initiation behind the two girls. When they got to the cliff side, they saw Jaune, Ozpin and Glynda talking before Ozpin pointed into the forest and Jaune nodded.

"Everyone please stand on one of the pads." Goodwitch said. After a minute everyone was on a pad. After a small speech from Ozpin they were sent into the forest one by one.

When Jaune got launched he spread his arms out and flew to his objective. He saw everyone use their own technique to slow down their approach. Before he could slow down a weapon was thrown at him. He grabbed it and threw it back in the general vicinity while spinning in the air.

When there was a tree in front of him, he would go through it to slow himself down. After a few trees and landed on the ground with a small crater. When he walked out of the crater he didn't see anything so he brought up a digital map of the area and saw the objective. He then started to move towards the area.

After a few minutes of jogging he heard fighting and went to investigate. There he saw Phyrra Nikos fighting a ursa with only a shield. Before the ursa could swipe at her, a gold blade cut off its head.

"Well now partner. Let's not get carried away." Jaune said with a smile.
