A/N: Hello everyone! This is a surprise for both you and me! I got this idea last night and couldn't stop thinking about the concept. You can thank some random Digimon character creator I found last night for the inspiration. For those of you who read Primal Knights, I wish to say thank you and sorry for letting you down. I lost inspiration in that when the news of PR Season 28 dropped. Here's hoping those of you like this. Oh and to bring it back to my roots, there's an OC form for the three main Rangers at the other Author's Note.

Disclaimer: I do not own Power Rangers or any related trademarks. It belongs to Hasbro. I only own some characters and original plot elements. I do not gain any money from this work of fiction. It's purely to fulfill me creatively.

The only thing he could hear as he ran through the quiet halls of the castle was the blood pounding in his ears. He had to keep going. It all came down to him. Curiosity got the better of him, and he turned his head ever so slightly. He had to know if they were still after him.

"You there!" cried out one of the palace guards. They were faster than he originally thought they were. "Stop right there in the name of the King!"

Not a chance, he thought cockily to himself. He had come too far now to give up. His eyes widened as he could see his destination at the end of this hall. Pushing the muscles in his calves as far as he could go, he ran as fast as he could. He knocked over a suit of armor in the process. Even if it bought him only a few extra seconds, that was all he would need.

"Rebel scum!" yelled the guards.

Before he could change his mind, he kicked open the doors to the magic chamber. However, he wasn't out of the woods yet. He closed the door as fast as he could. All around the room were shelves that held various trinkets which he assumed were magical of some sort. Swinging his messy black hair out of his eyes, he grabbed a chair with nothing on it and pushed it against the strong wooden doors of the chamber.

"That should hold them for a couple of minutes," he said to himself. He paused to catch his breath for a minute as he opened a small window to let the breeze in. He reached his hands into the pockets of his dark trousers and pulled out two items. In one hand, he held a small vial with frothing pink liquid. On the other hand, there lay a dark velvet bag. He moved the bag around his hand to confirm that the objects were in there.

"Alyn said I should be able to just pour the mixture into the cauldron," said the teenage boy as he reflected on what the former Grand Mage had told him. He let out a small chuckle of delight as he spotted the fairly standard iron cauldron in the middle of the room. Setting the velvet bag on a small table by the cauldron, he unscrewed the vial and poured the pink liquid into the cauldron.

"Now Mathias," the voice of the Grand Mage replayed through his brain. "You won't have much time. The potion will only work for no more than a minute. You must work quickly."

It turns out the Grand Mage was right. As soon as Mathias had finished pouring in the potion, the cauldron started to bubble ferociously. The pounding on the door increased in intensity as the guards tried their hardest to get inside. He opened the small velvet bag and poured three small gems into his hands. They were brightly colored in the shades of red, blue, and yellow respectively and shaped like a lion, shark, and hawk. Acting quickly, he threw the gems into the mixture.

"And once you pour them in," Mathias mentally replayed the Grand Mage's instructions. "Say these words to activate the spell."

Mathias cleared his throat and said the spell as fast as he could, "We are in our hour of need, find three heroes to combat this greed. Of the heroes we want to meet, those with courage, intelligence, and grace can't be beat."

The cauldron glowed brightly as Mathias finished the incantation. However, the guards finally managed to break through the doors to the chamber and came rushing in en masse. As the potion bubbled to the roof of the cauldron, the three gems rose out of the mixture glowing brightly.

"What did you do!" yelled the guard in the front. "Undo it at once!"

Mathias smirked as he raised his hands in the air, "I brought us hope."

With the power of the potion flowing through them, the three crystals flew through the open window and into the evening sky. The guards roared in anger as they apprehended Mathias. They could be mad at him all they want, but he was content with the knowledge that the ones they sought would arrive.

King Semias tapped his hands impatiently on the arm of his black and silver chair as he waited for the Captain of the guard to enter his war room. He rubbed his temples with his pale hands. He could feel a headache coming on. The sooner this meeting was done, the sooner he could get to bed and rest for the night.

The doors opened wide as the Captain of the guard entered. He strode in with the sounds of his heavy leather boots echoing against the marble floor. He set his metal helmet on the table as he bowed before the King.

"Where are your generals sir?" asked the Captain.

"I sent them away for the evening," Semias said, boredom evident in his tone.

"Report?" asked the King, raising an eyebrow at the Captain.

"We caught the rebel intruder that broke into the castle. He locked himself in the chambers of former Grand Mage Alyn. He was in there alone for a couple of minutes before we caught him. Unfortunately, he did some sort of spell that sent three crystals into the sky," said the Captain, nervous sweat began to fall down his dark skin.

Semias sat up straight at the mention of crystals, "Crystals! What kind of crystals?"

"They were red, blue, and yellow," said the Captain. "I couldn't see closer due to them glowing brightly."

The King's face darkened with the influx of this new information. So they were trying to bring back the legendary Rangers from the myths? Well, he would just have to do his part to make sure it didn't happen.

"What are your orders my Liege?" asked the Captain.

He put his finger to his lip in thought, "Tell the commanders to go to all of the villages in the kingdom and draft new soldiers for our military. Then, I want you to go to the dungeons and interrogate our rebel friend to find out where he's from. Once you do, send a squadron of guards to his village and take care of them all."

The Captain bowed before the King, "Will that be all sir?"

King Semias nodded, "Yes. Oh and Captain? Alert the staff to awaken my generals. We have a war to plan."

The Captain nodded as he left the room, leaving King Semias alone with his thoughts. That cursed Grand Mage! If Alyn succeeded and the Power Rangers were to return, he would be forced to enact drastic measures. Though perhaps, a little push was needed every now and then. He would make sure that no one threatened his rule. No one.

A/N: Alright so that just about does it for this prologue. This is sort of the spiritual successor to one of the stories I'm the proudest of, Eltarian Warriors. So as I mentioned above, this is a SYOC fic. I tried to keep the form kind of simple. No rules this time. I should also add that this will have a bit of a 2017 Jumanji 2017 factor where they enter new forms once the Rangers get into the fantasy world. Aside from just having fun and only accepting submissions through PM, those two are still in effect. Anyways leave a review, follow, fave, and I will see you all next time!
