Kai's POV

Knock Knock Knock

"Come in the door is open, Torrin" Kai yelled to Torrin,but who stepped inside was not Torrin it was a beautiful girl with messy brown hair and big sparkly brown eyes.

" Ahhh a fan autographs are after the performance sorry" He said shyly

"I am definitely not a fan. I am here to fix your microphone, I heard it was acting up."

Kai frowned and handed the girl the mic. He tried to think of a way to start a conversation but no words would come out of his mouth. The girl handed him the mic and said that stage rehearsals were in fifteen minutes. As she walked out of his dressing room kai yelled "wait!"

She turned around with a puzzled face.

"Do you want me to fix anything else?"

"No, I wanted to ask your name."

"Cinder, and yours?"

"You don't know my name!?"

"No sorry all I know is that you're part of a band named The Chronicles."

"Oh" Kai exhaled disappointedly "My name is Kai."

"Nice to see you Kai, tell me if you need me later today."

Kai sighed sadly, right as Thorne also known as World Wide Handsome walked in.

"Damn, you look bumbed. Wait was it a girl?!"

"Get out I will see you in stage rehearsals."

Thorne snickered "A girl turned down the notorious KAI PRINCE!"

Kai checked the clock stage rehearsals started in three minutes. "I am going to go to stage rehearsals Thorne" Kai walked out of the bright room and headed towards the horribly lighted backstage. Right when he got to the curtain people clamoured him but the only person that caught his eye was Cinder sitting on a box with her earbuds in very focused on her phone.

Cinder's POV

Of course she knew that Kai was staring intently at her but she tried to focus on killing the person blocking her in Fortnite. She was almost at Battle Royal When a large hand grabbed her arm and dragged her to the snack table. When Cinder saw the leader of Kai's group, his name was….. Thorne!

"Sorry about that, you are decently pretty. I can't believe that Kai is this head over heels after meeting you once!"

"Um yeah….. I am going to go." Cinder turned around and ran straight into Kai's chest. His face was beet red and she couldn't tell if he was embarrassed or upset. He was just about to explode in Thorne's face when Jacin, the drummer and Wolf, the lead guitarist came up to them.

"GUYS GET YOUR ASSES TO STAGE REHEARSALS NOW!" Wolf screamed. Behind Wolf, Jacin had his hands in his pocket and his face was emotionless. The boys all turned and headed towards the stage. Cinder went to meet her friend Cress in the sound booth when Kai turned around "Sorry about. Whatever Thorne said is not true. Bye Cinder"

Cinder felt a pang in her heart, it's not like she liked him so she didn't know why she felt this way. She walked up the stairs to get to the sound booth and opened the door, she found her small friend hunch-backed switches and screens. Cress's hair was in a messy bun, her heart shaped face was contorted in confusion trying to do something with the dang lights, and her normally light blue eyes looked dull.

"Hi Cinder, once second." Once Cress finished she looked up at Cinder and carried on "how was your first time working for The Chronicles?"

"It was good. They are a weird group of people."

"Yeah, that's what makes it exciting"

"And you get to stare at all day Thorne without anyone noticing."

Cress's famous blush crawled up her face followed with a handful of contradictions. A booming voice came through Cress's speaker telling her to lower the lights.

"I can help you."

"Oh, that would be great just push the button to your left and the switch right above that." The rest of rehearsals were great! Cinder had to go downstairs to check everyone's microphones and anything else they might need.

Cinder went from door checking everyone's mics, she got to Kai's room and her nerves were building more and more. She knocked, no answer,she knocked again, no answer, she opened the door no one was there. Kai was not there!
