Raccoon General Hospital – September 2002

A medical gurney forces open a pair of double doors, as two medical physicians emerge from behind the open reception desk in the emergency room of the facility. A pair of paramedics, with a doctor of the lower unit of Raccoon General arriving ordering anyone in the way to clear a path, followed by another trio of stretchers being pushed by a group of hospital staff, as a woman emerges in a lab coat. The confusion and small conversations exchanged as the unit pulled available resources, a lower level registered nurse asked the diagnosis to her superior, and close friend.

"Trauma 5," Escapes the woman's pursed tired lips of the doubles she worked the night before, as the medical staff scrambled to get the group arrived on stretchers into the nearest available room. The young nurse shook her head, as she stepped back allowing her boss to do her job. Prepping ER stations, their system was a flow and any cogs either got you the third-degree or out with the pink slip. The young rookie nurse stood by an did as she was instructed by assisted the doctors and the other nurses in the larger open wing for these situations, similar to the large highway accident three years prior in Arkley and Raccoon City highway pile-up left several wounded, however, this felt very different.
