Trembling he moves back until he is cowering against her fence. Scoffing at the cowardice of the man, Keres walks over to where the bag of rampion had been dropped. Picking it up she askes "Why have you been stealing from me?"/p

p lang="en-US" style="margin: 0in; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;"Turning on her heel, toward her house she says that he can continue to take plants from her garden so long as when their child is born she can have it. Joseph who was more afraid of this witch than of his wife agreed to her deal, not stopping to think of the idiocy of his deal./p

p lang="en-US" style="margin: 0in; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;"Months later Ruth gives birth to a healthy baby girl, and Joseph remembering his deal with Keres couldn't bare to tell his wife that in mere moments their happiness would be ripped away from them forever. A knock was heard and his heart started racing, expecting Keres to turn up and destroy their happy little family. Getting up and answering the door, to his in-laws was a breath of relief, however when he spotted Keres behind them his relief turned to dread. Letting the three of them in, he leads them to their bedroom, where Ruth sits smiling serenely down at their little child. He moves till he is sitting next to her and places his arm around her shoulders and savors the sight of his daughter for what he believes to be the last time./p

After ensuring that they were asleep Keres carefully climbed the fence, and traipsed across their dark lawn. Unlocking the nursery's window with a murmured "alohomora" she gently climbed in the window and walked over to the bassinette, blinking up at her were the bluest most innocent eyes Keres had ever seen. Gently picking her up she swiftly exits the house, locking the window behind her./p

They would eventually get up and go to the police, but for the moment they lie slumbering in their bed blissfully unaware of what had become of their child./p
