It had been nearly nineteen years since Elliot Stabler had work with Manhattan's Special Victims Unit and if he was honest with himself Elliot missed the hustle and bustle of the squad room. But since finality of his divorce from Kathy five years ago Elliot was really missing his longtime partner Olivia Benson. They had been through so much together and when he had retired from the Police force, he had told Olivia that he valued their friendship. But he had never really had the chance to fully let Olivia know how he truly felt about her.
Sitting in her office at the one Police Plaza Olivia frowned. Causing a severe crease in between her eyebrows Olivia couldn't swallow back the vile and the anguish that she felt creeping into her throat. This morning she had received a disturbing envelop as she walked out of her apartment with Noah. She had waited until she had dropped Noah off at school and then gotten to work. But sitting there at her desk as she looked at the pictures of not just her and Noah out at the park but a girl that she knew from Chicago. The Envelop also contained note saying that the girl was next. Quickly making a decision Olivia picked up her phone and called Hank Voight in Chicago who over saw the Gang Unit. Waiting for an answer she grabbed her cell phone and sent out a massive text to her coworkers asking for Finn, Rollins, and Carisi to join her in her office pronto. She wasn't going to be taking this message lightly.
As he was walking into the squad house Finn heard the notifications on his phone go off and took his phone out. Seeing the Text from Olivia he made a beeline to the squad room and straight for Liv's office. Getting there he went and waited for her to say what was going on.
They had both just arrived at one Police Plaza when their phones had gone off. Rollins had looked at her screen and said "it's Liv. She says she needs us in her office." Tight lipped Carisi nodded and said, "let's go."
Looking up she saw those that she had asked to her office and said, "close the door." As she heard Voight's voice, she quickly hit speaker phone and said "Thank you all for you timely answers. We have a problem."
Having just heard what Olivia said Voight sat forward and with a rough voice said, "What is it?" Lately his unit had been working overtime. Hell they were just getting started on another case as he sat speaking with Olivia.
Looking at her team she said "I received a disturbing envelop outside of my apartment door this when my son and I were leaving to get him to school. Voight one of your own is involved. But her life is being threatened.
Upon hearing what Olivia had just Finn looked at her and said "What?"
Handing him the letter that had been in the envelop with the pictures she said "Voight, you need to reach out to Erin Lindsey.
Hearing his adoptive daughter's name Voight said, "What's going on?" He could tell by the unreleased strain in Olivia's voice that something serious was wrong.
Sitting forward Olivia said "The envelop had pictures of my son and I at the park and then pictures of Erin in them. The letter I received with the pictures said "Erin Lindsey is next. Voight, there was no name of the envelop. But I will be sending you copies of everything the envelop pertains."
Voight was beyond himself. He hadn't talked with Erin since she had left his squad room to go head a department in the FBI. And now all of a sudden, he had to reach out to her. This is was serious. Replying he said, "Thanks Olivia." Hanging up he went out and called "Halstead. My office NOW."
Jay Halstead had been with the unit since it was first started and had quite often been called into Voight's office. This time being called into his felt different felt off. Being an Army vet he constantly relied on his gut feeling. Walking into Voight's office he said "Boss?" Looking at Halstead he asked, "Have you heard from Erin Lindsey recently?" Shocked he said, "No I haven't, why?"
Grimacing Voight said, "Come with me." Grabbing his jacket he left his office with Halstead in tow and said, "We'll be back." Without saying anything or looking back to see if Halstead was following him, he left the 21st and went to his adopted daughter's house.
Running to keep up with Voight, Halstead was curious as to what was going on. Being asked if he had heard from Erin had not just shocked him but had caught his attention. But Voight's body language and the way the man was practically running to leave the building made Halstead realize something was up. Pulling out his phone he hit Erin's name and called her.
Erin had just gotten home from work and was grabbing a beer from her fridge when she heard her personal phone go off. Seeing it was Jay she picked it up and said "Lindsey." Falling back into her old ways of working on the Intelligence Unit. Opening her beer she went into her living room and sat down. Just as she was about to take a drink of her beer, she heard a loud thump on her door causing her to immediately grab her gun. With her phone to her ear as she stood up, she said "Hold on a minute Jay."
Hearing Erin say hold on as he followed a disgruntled Voight, Jay frowned. Something was up. He felt the tension from both Voight and his gut. Having served in the Army overseas, he had learned to follow his gut instinct and did as Erin had said but caught up to Voight and put his phone on speaker.
"Walking to her door her gun ready she looked through her peephole and seeing nothing assumed it was just a neighbor kid who fell into her door headed back towards couch.
As Olivia and her team talked about the envelope, she couldn't help but worry. Finally reaching a breaking limit she called Noah's school and informed them of what was going on and told his principle to have him for pick up. Looking at Rollins she said "Amanda, please pick Noah up and bring him directly here." Looking at Carisi who now play the role of D.A. she asked, "Is that ok?"
Carisi nodded and said "Yes, it is. He is safer here where there is a full squad to look after him."
Amanda nodded and left the office. As she was leaving the building, she kept a vigilant eye out. Thank goodness that Noah's school was just a block away.
