Slap me like a Volleyball
It was a regular Friday evening at the Karasuno High School. It was already late and the school was almost empty, only a few students were still in for their club activities. But even those were slowly but steadily leaving. The volleyball club, for example, had already finished their training and everyone had gone home. Only the small, but auspicious ace-to-be first-year Shouyo Hinata had been left behind to clean up the hall because he had utterly screwed up a total of 15 serves, 5 of which had ended up at the back of his teammates' heads.
He wasn't very proud of his lack of skill when it came to technique, but no matter how much he practiced, he just couldn't get any better, so what was he to do?
When he had finally stored the last ball he let out a deep sigh. This punishment really wasn't fair. Cleaning up all alone after a long training day was simply cruel.
Just when he wanted to turn around and leave, he felt a sudden draft hitting the back of his neck and heard steps approaching him. Before he could react, regardless of his superhuman reflexes, a body threw itself on him and pushed him to the wall.
Having never expected an assault in this kind of place, Hinata was caught completely off guard. Hands were starting to touch him and when he turned his head around to see the face of the guy who'd do such a thing, he even got a kiss forced upon him. Hinata pulled his lips away and gasped for air.
"Kageyama!", he yelled at his teammate. "You were here the whole time? Why didn't you help me?!"
He tried to punch him, but Kageyama caught his fists and pushed Hinata against the wall. So this was what he was worried about in this kind of situation?
"Didn't want to ...", Kageyama answered and forced another kiss on him. Hinata didn't know how to react to that. He freed himself with some quick movements and walked back to get some distance between him, Kageyama and the wall. But he didn't notice the volleyball he apparently had forgotten to put back and stumbled across it.
"Ouch!", his head hit the ground and he made the mistake to not immediately stand up again.
Kageyama was already bowing over him when he opened his eyes and closed in for a third kiss.
"What the heck is wrong with you?!", Hinata almost yelled at him when he stopped Kageyama with his hands from coming even closer to him. "Are you mad at me because I hit your head three times? Or did it break something in there when the ball hit?!"
Kageyama just shrugged at pushed Hinata's hands aside with ease.
"I don't know. Maybe it's both ...", he grinned smugly, "all I know right now is that I'm super horny and that I want you."
Hinata blushed and blinked at Kageyama, disbelieving his own ears.
"What?! Why?", he shook his head and tried to free himself from Kageyama's grasp, but it was futile. "Now? Here?!"
"Well, I guess it just arouses me, playing volleyball with you", Kageyama told him with a straight face and went back to kissing him.
Hinata attempted to struggle a few more times, but when Kageyama started licking Hinata's lower lip he gave in and finally returned the kisses. He was really horny. There was no time he wasted to get his tongue into Hinata's mouth and his fingers beneath the clothing.
Hinata didn't know how to react and what to do, he was totally overextended with the situation. His head went dizzy and his body started feeling really weird. The touch of Kageyama's fingers on his skin, his lips, and his tongue … it was just too much. When he started kissing Hinata's neck he crossed the limits. Hinata moaned, flinched and finally slapped Kageyama right into his face as if his head was a volleyball he wanted to smash across the net.
Kageyama immediately stopped what he was doing and took a step back, holding his cheek that now had a bright red handprint on it.
"Ouch!", he snorted annoyed, "not again!"
Hinata's face took a light blue color and rose his pulsating hand. "I – I'm so sorry! I really didn't mean to do that! It was a reflex! I'm so sorry!", he mumbled quickly and barely understandable.
"This happens every single time ...", Kageyama hissed, "You seriously need to get your reflex under control if this is ever to work out!"
Hinata bowed down several times and mumbled more and more apologies. It's already been three weeks since they had started dating and they haven't managed it even once to make out properly. Every time the pleasure starts to take of Hinata's body, his hand just acts on his own and kills the mood.
"I'm really sorry. It's just … I can't do this in here ...", Hinata tried to justify himself. "You can't just assault me like that!"
Kageyama pulled a face and crossed his arms.
"I'm sorry, too.", he admitted unwillingly, "I know I shouldn't jump you out of nowhere, but … I don't know how much longer I can hold myself back."
Hinata understood him well. This was ridiculous. Kageyama wasn't the only one who wanted to take the next step, Hinata was craving for it as well. But something inside of him didn't seem to be ready yet. He shook his head to drive the doubts away. It was time that he had did something about this and it surely didn't help that he always waited for Kageyama to make the first step.
He took a deep breath and gathered all his courage. "Ka-Kageyama … My parents will be out tonight, so why don't you come over? And maybe … sleepover?"
Kageyama's jaw almost hit the floor when he heard the words from Hinata's mouth. Was he serious?
"Sleepover? You mean …?", Kageyama started the sentence, but he didn't need to finish it. Hinata was already nodding with that bright red head of his.
Of course, Kageyama would want to sleep in such circumstances. He couldn't wait for it.
What happened three weeks ago:
This relationship of them had started in the weirdest way one could think of. From the purest hatred to a forced friendship, across a love-hate relationship and now to this. It all changed for them on this crazy and fateful day three weeks ago.
After a long time, that felt like an eternity, Hinata had finally taken heart to sneak a letter into Kageyama's locker where he asked him to meet up with him after school in the gardens. He had left it anonymous, of course, fearing that he wouldn't come if he knew from whom he got it.
But the weird thing was, that on the very same day Hinata as well found a similar letter in his locker. And not even a similar one. It was almost identical.
The letter Hinata got described the exact same place and time and also used the very same words.
"Please meet me in the school's garden at 5 past 2 pm. There is something important I have to tell you." It was so weird that Hinata first thought was that Kageyama had figured him out and wanted to mock him or something like that.
But what if the letter was real and there was really someone waiting for him while he was waiting for Kageyama? This would be a total mess! Hinata panicked and almost got sick. Just what should he do? Should he simply not go? But then Kageyama and the mystery person would meet and who knew what could happen then!
Hinata had no other choice but to go, so he had to come up with some kind of strategy.
Since he, unfortunately, wasn't the smartest of his kind, he didn't come up with a better idea than hiding in the bushes a few meters behind the garden and wait for someone to show up. Whoever would arrive first at this spot, Hinata would snag him and lead him away as quickly as possible.
Kageyama and mystery person absolutely weren't allowed to meet up, otherwise, this would turn into a catastrophe.
With the panic running through his veins he kept staring at the rendezvous point, his eyes wide open so he couldn't miss a leaf flying by. He didn't even dare to blink and was so nervous he was about to be sick.
But … no one came. Time passed and Hinata kept staring at the garden, briefly looked at the clock and then quickly back at the place he expected to someone show up any second now. First, it was five minutes late, then 10 minutes. Hinata gulped.
He didn't know what bothered him more. The fact that mystery person first called him here and then didn't show up himself or that Kageyama seemed to ignore his message. Another five minutes felt like five years and Hinata finally gave up on it. Who would come more than fifteen minutes late for such an important thing? He was frustrated.
After all the courage he had to bring up to just write this damn letter and put it in Kageyama's locker. It has all been for nothing. He shambled out of his hiding place and let out a deep sigh, only to flinch badly a moment later.
His sigh had been a lot louder than he had expected. Actually, it almost felt like it wasn't only his sigh, no it sounded like someone was standing right beside him who had sighed simultaneously. But there hadn't been a single soul here until a second ago … a ghost?!
Hinata's whole body was shivering as he slowly turned his head around towards the direction that echo sigh came from. When he saw who was standing next to him, his heart skipped a beat. He screamed loudly and jumped back, the guy in front of him copying every move he made. It was Kageyama.
"What are you doing here?!", they both shouted at each other, even though the question was redundant. Hinata, at least, knew very well why Kageyama was here. He just had to open his mouth and tell him.
"W-well, I am here because I got a weird letter that I should come here to meet someone. Looks like this someone didn't show up. Haha … ha", he laughed awkwardly instead. What was he doing?! Why was he telling Kageyama about that? Now how should he get the subject to what he actually wanted to tell him?
"Is that so?", Kageyama was even paler than usual and behaved very weirdly. He looked in the air and shrugged. "Well, same for me … weird coincidence, isn't it? Seems we both got one's remove."
No … that was not true. If he could just get his courage together and tell him. How did it come to this?! If he just didn't get this damn letter from mystery person, then all of this wouldn't have happened.
"Yeah … weird coincidence ...", Hinata mumbled and stared at his shoes.
It was so awkward. They should just laugh it off and go home, but it seemed like they both were glued to the ground, unable to make a move and unable to look each other in the eyes. And now there was this horrible silence, that got more and more unbearable with every second.
When they both couldn't take it any longer, they turned to go but froze again immediately. Thousands of thoughts were running havoc inside Hinata's head. Would they just go home now? Would they simply continue to be teammates like before, ruining this once in a lifetime chance to finally make a change and come clean about his feelings? It had taken him so long to write this letter and to get to this point that he was standing here with him. Could he just go home now? No, he couldn't.
He took a deep breath, turned on his heels and almost yelled at Kageyama. "It was me who sent you that letter."
Again he flinched at his own words. Again they had been a lot louder than he had expected. He looked into Kageyama's eyes, he was slightly red and panted for air. It took Hinata quite a while to realize, that Kageyama had just spoken the very same words as he did and what exactly this all meant.
"You …?", Kageyama was a bit faster. He had already started to get it.
"You are mystery person?!", Hinata just yelled at him disbelieving. He had been so mad at this mystery person, ruining his plan, and now it was Kageyama all along?!
"M-mystery person?", Kageyama mumbled confusedly. Neither of them had fully grasped the situation, yet. They just stared at each other, at a loss of words, and let the situation sink in.
Hinata and Kageyama had sent each other a letter, with almost the exact same words, calling each other to the exact same place at the exact same time. What was that? Destiny? Hinata blushed when he thought about it and his heart jumped. Why would Kageyama want to talk to him …? Could it be the same reason that Hinata wanted to talk to him? Or was that too much of a coincidence? Well, there was only one way to find out.
"Why did you want to meet me? … Is there something you want to talk to me about?", Hinata asked with a nervously quivering voice. Maybe it was something completely different. Maybe he wanted to beat him up because of that one time during training when Hinata had attempted a jump but tripped and flew right into Kageyama's arms. Thinking back, this had been a really weird situation. Kageyama had just stared at him, his cheeks flushed in rage and his face only inches away, but he didn't say anything or yell. It was almost creepy.
It was a bit like right now, with Kageyama looking at Hinata with confused eyes, not knowing whether he should be angry or not.
"Well, y-yeah. There is. But you first. Why did you want to meet me here?", Kageyama quickly changed the topic. Hinata's heart immediately started racing. Right, there still was this. The reason Hinata had called him here … the thing he wanted to talk about. Was he ready for it?
"Y-yeah … about that ...", Hinata stuttered and got really nervous. Like, really nervous. It was almost as worse as before a game, no, maybe even worse than that. Hinata turned as white as a sheet and feared that he was about to be sick at any moment. But no, he had to get this from his chest beforehand. He took a deep breath and gathered all his courage.
"I think I like you!", he burst out. Again. It happened for the third time now. Hinata's words resounded inside of his head over and over again until he was sure that he heard it right and the very same words also had come from Kageyama's lips.
He looked up to him and saw his high red face and the quivering lips. They both blinked several times until they both blurted out one more word simultaneously.
"HUH?!"
Hinata was so confused he could barely put it into words. This wasn't like he had pictured this at all. Of course, he had held the tiny hope that Kageyama would accept his feelings or even return them, but actually, he had almost been certain to be laughed at or ridiculed. He just wanted to get these feelings off his chest before they became too painful to carry. But now?
"You like me?", Hinata shook his head disbelieving. "How can you like me? I don't get it. We do nothing but fighting all the time. I thought you hated me!"
Kageyama took a deep breath. "Well I can say the very same thing to you!", he shouted at him. "How can you like me?"
Hinata went quiet. It was true. If he had these feelings inside him, then was it possible that Kageyama, too …?
"I … I don't know ...", Hinata started, suddenly stuttering as the memories went through his head. "At first it was just during the games. Whenever I played with you, received your tosses and crushed the ball over the net I just … felt like I could do anything with you by my side. I wanted to be together with you and at some point, I also felt like that after the game was over and … I … I don't know." Hinata's face took the color of his hair as he sank to his knees. "I just feel weird whenever I think about you."
Kageyama probably shouldn't have asked. Hearing that almost drove him insane, his whole body was shivering. Could it be true …? Was Hinata being serious?
He felt the same. It all started during the games for him, too. Whenever Hinata came jumping for his tosses. Whenever he smiled. Whenever he got so excited that the air was brimming with tension. Whenever he did stupid things. Whenever he did something so freaking adorable. And in the end just whenever he was around.
"You make my heart race", he finally blurted out. It was the best he could describe it.
At first, he had thought he was being ill or something, that there was something wrong with him. The times he suddenly felt really warm in Hinata's presence, the times his heart felt like it was about to burst. It took him a while to realize what was really happening with him. And even longer to finally admit it.
"R-really?", Hinata looked at him with huge eyes. "Because I … I think it's the same for me."
It seemed like a weird dream, that couldn't possibly become true.
"Then is it really true? We both … like each other?", Kageyama concluded. It was such a weird thing to say.
"Seems like it ...", Hinata mumbled confused as he got up from the ground again. "So what … now?"
They looked at each other, both uncertain and nervous about what was about to come. Kageyama made the first step, getting a bit closer to Hinata. Hinata just flinched and was about to retreat, but forced himself to stay still. His heart was going crazy as their eyes locked and Kageyama kept getting closer to him.
When it was too much for him to take, he gasped for air and closed his eyes. It looked tense, but Kageyama didn't let it stop him.
It felt kind of like a déjà-vu … like back then when Hinata hit his first spike, nervous to the bones and with closed eyes. This was so similar and at the same time so different.
This time Kageyama, too, closed his eyes the moment their lips met. Hinata shivered a bit at first, his lips were so warm and soft and it almost seemed like they'd get hotter with every moment.
When they managed to solve their lips from each other again, they both had to gasp for air. Not that the kiss had been for too long, but their hearts had beat so fast and pushed so much blood up to their ears that there was barely any oxygen left. Hinata's huge eyes were glowing and Kageyama almost feared he could get lost in them. Those eyes that reflected his happiness like the sun itself, it almost blinded him.
Hinata went on the tips of his toes and wrapped his hands around Kageyama's neck, Kageyama put his hands on Hinata's waist and they kissed each other again, this time a bit more active.
It felt so surreal but so good. Like something they had both longed for such a long time and finally they were able to get it. All their worries and doubts started to melt in the hot and soft lips of the other as their mouths were slowly opening up and the tips of their tongues suddenly met.
Hinata gasped for air, but it only intensified Kageyama's smell and his taste that made his body feel like wax. Only when Kageyama's fingers suddenly started to slide beneath his clothing and disappeared in his pants it was too much.
A sudden flash of weird pleasure struck through Hinata's body and made him react in his very own way. From one second to the other the hand, that just had been placed around Kageyama's neck, jerked back and slapped Kageyama's cheek.
Kageyama immediately let go of Hinata, yelled of pain and made a few steps back.
"Ow! What was that for?! My head is not a volley-", Kageyama was about to scold him, but when he looked into Hinata's face, he lost all his words.
Hinata's face was high red, his lips and his whole body were trembling and tears were welling up inside his eyes. It looked like he was about to get an emotional breakdown any minute now.
Seeing him like that, Kageyama recalled what they had just been doing and slowly but steadily he realized the meaning of this whole thing. The places he had his lip, his arms … his fingers.
Just what did he do? He had let himself get completely carried away by his feelings. Now his head went red as well and his mouth went dry.
"I'm sorry! I … I don't know why I touched you like that … it's just … it went through with me."
"No! I'm sorry!", Hinata sobbed, "I didn't want to hit you! You did nothing wrong, but it was … a reflex! I … really … liked this just now ..."
His words became quieter with every syllable and in the end, it was nothing but a mere mumble. Hinata looked like he wanted the ground to swallow him and it almost broke Kageyama's heart. He was just so freaking adorable.
"It's okay!", Kageyama gulped and wrapped his arms around Hinata again, pulling him close to his chest. "This went too far. Let's start this a bit slower, okay?"
Hinata just nodded as he buried his face in Kageyama's shirt.
"Damn … I really like you more than I thought ...", Kageyama mumbled, more to himself than to Hinata.
Well, yes, this has been three weeks ago. And has there been any progress since then? No. Whenever Kageyama got a bit too touchy with Hinata, he'd end up getting a perfect handprint on his face.
Hinata kept insisting that he didn't do it on purpose and that he didn't dislike what Kageyama was doing, but still … how could he go on when his head was being treated like a mere volleyball?
But this time it would be different! This time … Kageyama had an entire night to get this weird reflex of Hinata under control … and concentrating on some others.
With these thoughts he was standing in front of Hinata's house, ready to jump right at him once he opened the door, but he hadn't been prepared for what was expecting him instead.
A smaller, cuter and way more adorable version of Hinata answered the door and stared at him with huge eyes. Whatever it was, it was perfect from the toe to the tip of the fluffy orange hair. Like a chibi edition of the original.
"Are you a friend of my big brother?", it asked in a high pitched voice. This was so … incredibly cute.
Kageyama suppressed the urge to just grab that lovely creature and run away with it to place it on his shelf back home. But before he could even open his mouth, said big brother was standing in the hallway.
"Kageyama? You are already here?", Hinata asked him, slightly overextended with the situation.
"Kageyama? Like Bakeyama? My big brother says bad things about you, I think he hates you!", the small creature giggled to itself. Hinata flinched and went red, Kageyama just gulped. Neither of them knew what to say on this, but they didn't have to because they were being interrupted anyway.
Like a sudden wind, Hinata's parents came through the door, picked up the child and went for the exit. While passing by him Hinata's mother threw a quick "Ah, you're Hinata's friend who came for studying. Sorry, we're really late, so … have fun!" at them and by the next blink of an eye they were already gone and the door closed behind them.
Now Kageyama knew where Hinata had his speed from.
"Don't listen to my stupid sister, she doesn't know what she's talking about!", Hinata quickly mumbled as he went closer. Kageyama sighed. A little sister? And she just looked almost like him? How should he handle this?
Unfortunately, he didn't have any time to think about it, because Hinata had already put his lips on his and given him a tender kiss.
"Shall we go up to my room?", he asked him with a seducing glance in his eyes. Kageyama immediately had forgotten about any sisters or other people on this planet. The original was best after all. With a quick nod, he let Hinata take his hand and they went for the room.
No, he rather dragged him into it, closed the door behind them and went straight for Kageyama again. It was obvious that they both were feeling that this was long overdue. Time for each other, so much time, and so many things they wanted to do.
While they were kissing, they slowly moved to the bed and Kageyama pushed Hinata on it. He slowly started to go crazy. Carefully he explored Hinata's mouth with his tongue and let his fingers slip beneath his clothing, getting more impatient with every second. It wasn't enough. He wanted to touch his whole body at once, wanted to kiss him all over.
Hinata was just as greedy, placing one of his hands on Kageyama's cheek and using the other to pull him closer. Maybe this time, this once, it would work out.
Kageyama was confident and went further, slowly pulling Hinata's shirt up. Swept away by the feeling he pushed Hinata completely on his back and let his fingers slide across his hard nipples. Hinata gasped for air and flinched slightly, but his hand stayed still.
So Kageyama started to play a bit more with the nipples, still without solving his lips from Hinata's and came closer.
Their crotches touched, and even though they both wore pants, the sensation was too much for Hinata and finally, his hand slipped and rained down on Kageyama's cheek for the umpteenth time.
Kageyama immediately pulled back in a reflex and made an annoyed sound.
"I – I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!", Hinata tried to apologize, but it was already too late.
Every time he had done that, Kageyama had accepted that he obviously wasn't ready and had pulled back. It would be the same this time.
Kageyama looked at Hinata with an indefinable look on his face. Was he mad? Disappointed? Even from that single touch that had only been lasting a split second, it had become obvious to both of them that they were hard, but how should they go on like that?
Kageyama suddenly sighed and reached for his belt, opening it and pulling it out. Hinata looked at him confused, unsure what Kageyama was about to do, but when the mad eyes met his and Kageyama held the belt in his grasp, he gasped, held his hand in front of his body to protect himself and closed his eyes.
Would he really be so mad that he hit him? Really? But before Hinata even could think about it, he felt the touch of leather on his wrists and when he looked up again, he noticed that his hands had been tied together and Kageyama was bowing over him, with a weird smile on his face.
"I only did this because I had to …", he apologized, but somehow it didn't sound apologetic at all. "But I think I could get used to this view ..."
There was definitely a grin on his face! An evil one! Kageyama's crotch touched Hinata's again. Was it only his imagination or was he even harder than before? Hinata felt the wave of pleasure running through his body, the wave that would turn into a punching reflex once it had reached his hand, but this time nothing happened. This time his hand had to stay where it was, tied to the other one.
Kageyama nodded content and continued. He slowly unbuttoned Hinata's shirt and let his fingers slide across his naked body. Hinata gasped for air and Kageyama put his lips on Hinata's neck, breathing faint kisses on the sensitive skin and drawing a line further and further downwards.
Hinata gasps mixed with slight moans that sounded like music in Kageyama's ear. For some reason, the idea of simultaneously torturing and pleasuring him made him almost mad and ripped his mind of all reason.
While exploring Hinata's upper body, his breast, and his nipples, with his tongue, he let his fingers slide beneath his pants. Hinata moaned on until Kageyama shut him up with a lusty kiss. Hinata's mouth and his tongue were twitching as Kageyama's hand reached deeper inside his pants, beneath his boxer shorts, and started to carefully tease the tip of his dick.
Hinata couldn't move his hands, couldn't moan, all he could do was channeling the overwhelming feelings in his kisses and the movements of his legs that pulled Kageyama closer.
Now even the active one had to draw back and pant for air, his head high red and his breath heavy. He let go of Hinata and quickly got rid of his own clothes, the impatience written all over his face. Hinata gulped when he saw the naked body of his teammate, especially his rock hard dick that was already leaking slightly in anticipation.
This thing would … it would …
Kageyama didn't waste any more time, he pulled Hinata closer and rammed his first finger inside him. Hinata gasped. He hadn't seen that coming. Hinata had already started to get slightly wet down there, so it went in quite easily, but still …
It felt so weird. Hinata nodded towards his nightstand and Kageyama followed his movements puzzled. What he found left him dumbfounded at first, but then a smile played on his lips and he threw a knowing smirk at Hinata. But Hinata avoided his gaze, about to be swallowed by the ground.
Kageyama didn't care. Without a word he reached for the lube and let some of it cover his fingers. Before he thrust them back inside him, Kageyama enjoyed the beautiful view in front of him some more. His ever hated and equally loved teammate lying in front of him, tied up, naked, the eyes glowing of both pleasure and pain, his dick rock hard and his legs wide open as if they were begging for him.
And yes, they were, but it wasn't enough. He wanted to hear it from these trembling lips.
"Say it", Kageyama urged him. Hinata didn't understand.
"Just say it", he went on, not explaining what the hell he was actually talking about. Hinata didn't get it and it made him mad.
He was lying here at his very limit and unable to do anything by himself and Kageyama was just …
"Just fuck me already!", Hinata shouted at him.
Kageyama grinned content. It was exactly what he wanted to hear. And so he thrust two fingers inside Hinata, impatiently but still trying hard to hold himself back. The lube made it so easy and Hinata was eagerly pulling him in until finally Kageyama couldn't wait any longer and decided, that he was prepared enough.
"I'm putting it in, okay?"
"Hey! Untie me already!", a voice suddenly ringed in Kageyama's head and kept him from drifting away.
He was so worn out, content and happy, that he was just about to fall asleep. But Hinata reminded him that he had forgotten about something …
"Oh right …", Kageyama sighed and opened his eyes, "What a pity, though ..."
The naked Hinata was lying next to him, his hands still tied up above his head with Kageyama's belt, glaring at him angrily. They were both exhausted and ready to sleep, but with the hands tied up like this …
Regretfully Kageyama opened the belt and freed Hinata from his chains. Partially because seeing Hinata like that made him feel pretty hot and also because he knew what was about to come.
"You perverted bastard!", Hinata yelled at him as he was finally free and his open palms started to rain down on Kageyama's chest.
"You sick … sadistic … !", Hinata mumbled some offending words as he hit the body next to him, but he barely put any strength into his slaps and it was hard to take them seriously.
"Ow!", Kageyama reacted, trying hard not to giggle of amusement because of the half-hearted attack.
Hinata's slap attack got slower and Kageyama laid his hand on him before he could rise it again. Instead of complaining, Hinata came closer, nestled to his chest and intertwined his fingers with Kageyama's.
"That … was awesome ...", Hinata mumbled in a whispering tone.
Kageyama was slightly confused by that sudden 180-degree turnaround. Their bodies were both hot and sweaty, but he could feel the temperature of Hinata's head rising even further as his cheeks were lying on his chest. His heartbeat went up.
"Yes, it was ...", Kageyama answered with a dry mouth.
The heat, the satisfaction and the memories of what had just happened mere minutes before made them both feel so weirdly happy that they couldn't put it into words. Well, there was a word, but no … it was still too soon.
"I'm really glad … I wrote you that letter", Kageyama whispered in Hinata's ear, still somehow disbelieving that this was really happening. Back then, when he had snuck the letter in his closet, he would have never imagined in his wildest dreams that they'd end up like this one day.
"Me too ...", Hinata admitted. "Still … I wonder how we both ended up writing the same letter ..."
Kageyama flinched. He had almost forgotten about this. Right, this was a mystery they had never been able to solve. Mostly because they had never talked about it again.
"Well … I think it's quite simple ...", he sighed, "So who did you ask for advice?"
"How did you …?!", Hinata looked up with eyes widened in shock, but then he slowly started to get it. "Uhm … well … Nishinoya-senpai … Don't tell me you, too …?"
Kageyama shook his head. "No … why would I ask someone like him for advice in such a thing?", he started, "No I asked Tanaka-senpai."
Hinata opened his mouth slightly outraged, about to ask how Tanaka-senpai was a better choice to ask advice for than Nishinoya-senpai, but he decided against it. Another question was far more interesting to him at that moment.
"But why would Tanaka-senpai and Nishinoya-senpai give the exact same advice?!", he wondered.
"I have no idea … and honestly, I don't want to know ...", Kageyama shrugged. "In the end, there is only one thing that counts."
He sat up and pulled Hinata closer to his body, stroking his blushed cheek with the hand that wasn't holding the other's hand.
"And that is that it worked."
They kissed and got lost in the moment, the thoughts of any senpais slipping from their minds. It was so easy to forget everything around them when their lips touched. At least until this damn hand decided to strike Kageyama's face again, that is.
What also happened three weeks ago:
"Hey, Tanaka, do you still remember our super-secret masterplan for asking out Kiyoko-senpai?", Nishinoya grinned broadly at his teammate as they were on their way home.
"Yeah, of course, I do. It was genius! Hiding a letter in her locker, asking her to meet at the most desolated place at school", Tanaka grinned equally broadly.
"Yes! And to make sure it would seem as serious as possible we thought of the perfect time: 5 past 2 pm! It's so precise that it shows it's super important!", Nishinoya nodded self-content at the thought.
"Oh yeah. Such a pity we never had the guts to see it through … but well, funny that you mention it right now because just a few days ago I got the opportunity to pass our wisdom on to the younger generation and help them out like a real senpai!"
Nishinoya rose his brows in surprise. "Really? You, too? That's what I was going to say!"
"What do you mean 'you, too?'?", Tanaka didn't expect that response and stopped walking. "You gave the same advice to someone?"
"Yeah!", Nishinoya's grin slowly faded, "And today is the day he wanted to do it!"
"Today …?", Tanaka's face went as white as a sheet of paper and he started feeling dizzy. Seeing him like that Nishinoya did the same.
"W-What time is it?!", he shouted at Tanaka as they were running back to school.
"It's already half-past two! We're already too late, but … but ...", Tanaka answered almost out of breath.
Neither of them was sure what they wanted to do when they got there and what they even would witness, but … they felt that it was their duty as senpais and the ones that kind of fucked that up to take responsibility. Somehow.
But when they arrived, the sight in front of them drove them into hiding in the bushes as quickly as possible. With blushed cheeks and gaped eyes, they stared at the scene in front of them: Kageyama and Hinata holding and kissing each other passionately. They couldn't believe their very own eyes.
"Oh no … oh no … that's … do you think what I'm thinking?", Nishinoya stuttered in a whisper to the bush next to him.
"Yes. Shit. I can't believe this is happening. They both got turned down by their crushes and now … they just decided to comfort each other. The poor guys.", Tanaka's eyes were tearing up and he looked at them, almost consoling.
Nishinoya's eyes got wet as well as he nodded. "Okay, you know, there's only one thing we can do in this kind of situation. Just pretend nothing has ever happened. We didn't see anything, okay? Never talk to them about this, ever!"
The end
Hello and thank you so much for reading this far! This is the end of this story, but I'd like to say a few more words to those who'd like to read them.
I haven't posted anything to this website for an eternity even though I had so many plans and ideas for stories to write, but writing as a hobby somehow entirely slipped from my life.
Now that almost the entirety of Europe is under lockdown, things like this suddenly come back to one's mind. I have found this story here sitting on my hard drive for years now and I thought it's about time to put it out there. I hope you enjoyed it and I hope I get to pursue some more projects in the near future!
